Missed the mark
5 December 2023
Most of the comedic scenes were in the trailer. Which why watch the movie if you can watch the trailer? Subject content is interesting. Not quite sure how much is satire or real views. Not sure to laugh or be shocked or both. This movie reminds of of "Juwanna Man" so we have already been there and done that. That movie was over 20 years ago and geared towards Black audiences so interesting to see it get repackaged for white conservatives and then do so well amongst viewers. (But Juwanna Man was hilarious). Now as for acting, it is mediocre at best. Feels like everyone is trying too hard. The material is there for jokes, it's just predicable with poor execution. Way too long and I wasted my time on this movie.

Culturally written
20 October 2022
This show is not for everyone. It's written with the Black culture in mind. Successful Black people (although some questionable ones) are plot of the show. This plot keeps everyone guessing and there is a twist around every corner. It's nice to see all spectrums of Blackness being highlighted. From struggling criminals to high power Black people. It's "Scandal" with more POCs and less degrading Black women.

The cast is a list of those I have not heard of or from other lesser successful projects. With that said, this series is the perfect opportunity to make a heightened name for some of the actors. On the other hand it is a safe choice for the producers.

Overall I believe the show is great with great potential. Not everything is for everyone. But for the Black community, this is a win.

Empowered Black Women
1 September 2022
I LOVE this show. Why? Because it's nice to see Black women take control of their sexuality and not be called everything but a child of god. We can have hook ups, we can have messy relationship dynamics, we can have the space to learn and grow freely. This is a right white women have had for quite some time. It's our turn now. To experience our bodies, sexuality, and enjoy that. I really hopes this speaks to a young woman who might feel shamed in the company if a few men. I hope it helps women still feel value in their womanhood no matter what. I hope this helps women feel like it's okay to learn even if that means a few mess ups and failures along the way.

Even funnier
29 May 2022
I used to watch this show late middle year or early high school. And now that I have a greater understanding and knowledge of worldly history, it makes this series even funnier.
