Cheung gong 7 hou (2008)
Deeper Morals
Another Chow movie has intrigued me yet again. Though, a little different to his other known humour such as ,'Kung-fu Hustle' and 'Shaolin Soccer', this particular movie has portrayed more than just the random bursts of laughter.
The storyline may be somewhat average but because it's aimed at a younger audience, it mostly doesn't matter. What's most important, are the contents that are being portrayed. There's an underlying message conveyed to the audience, not only just to the children but to the adults as well and that is, you should cherish the things you already have in life, most importantly your family. Which, in this case the film has portrayed very well to the point where I almost shed a few tears.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005)
Avatar: The Last Air Bender = EPIC!
There are many anime/cartoons that lives up to my standards and I have to say that Avatar is one of the best.
It has brought upon me to laugh, feel sad and rage at some characters that have been introduced in the series. All these emotions is the pinnacle of how Avatar is so great. Not many anime/cartoons have done so and that's why Avatar has left itself to be one of the best to watch. There is nothing like it, action packed with martial arts, filled with comedy and based on philosophical meaning for older viewers. It is great for a family night together to watch. A very excellent, thought through production that has brought a very good viewing to my entertainment. Overall, Avatar is a must see series for those who do not mind the children animation.
Avatar is EPIC!
(Also a bit off topic) Forwarded to the previous comment - "I think it has biblical references"
Although these are good observations, I must say there is none what so ever of any biblical references. Avatar has already shown itself to be based of some Asian cultures with its Buddhist and Taoism religions. Fire Nation as hell? True there is a physical resemblance but the creators never intended to make Fire Nation to look like hell. Plus the creators have already stated what religions they used in which I have already mentioned. It was not to teach the children about the bible but to provide philosophical meaning towards the older viewers. The children animation was only intended for their entertainment.
