I was blown away...
18 January 2005
This was the first actual Bollywood film I've ever seen. I knew nothing about it going in, other than that it was considered a classic and featured "that Indian guy" (Khan) who shows up in every other film. Needless to say, after I became accustomed to the singing and dancing, I was able to dig in to the film a bit. It got slow at times but I was intensely interested in figuring out what the heck was going on. In the final moments of the film, my friend and I just sat frozen. I've never seen a movie that had singing, dancing, and ended with a bang. Needless to say, I'm hooked on Bollywood and determined to make everyone I know watch this film.

I adored this movie!

I absolutely adore this movie. I borrowed it from an Indian friend and first of all fell IN LOVE with Hrithrik Roshan. Not even the bootleg tape I had could hide his beauty. I think I watched the movie 3 times in one week! Seeing as how the film is 3 1/2 hours long, that's saying a lot.

As always, Sharukh Khan is a pleasant diversion on screen. Kajol's character was a lot of fun too. It's nice to see a girl with spunk get her man! Nearly all of the songs and choreography were stellar. I will most definitely buy this one.

Like some of the other reviewers mentioned, there is definitely some over-acting but those few moments of suffering are rewarded with a variety of eye-candy. This film is definitely worth watching.

I AM TARYN BLAKE!
16 December 2002
I just wanted to know if anyone has an idea where I could get a copy of this movie. I saw it on TV once when I was younger and I couldn't watch it.

My given name is Taryn Blake and after hearing Daryl Hannah throw a tantrum at her mother(?) in which she shouts, "I am Taryn Blake!" I had to turn off the television. It was very frightening. I've never met another Taryn much less a blond version of my namesake!

I would like to show the movie to a couple of people who still don't believe me about this.
