How to Get Rich (2023)
Is focused more on the host than the finances.
It could have been OK and worth the time, had it actually really focused on showing what they were going to need to work on (each person) and what they did to change things. They did not do that. 80% (if not more) of the focus was on the host. I have to say most of his advice (what little they did actually say on the show) is very basic. Nothing new. Were I going to pay for any financial advice, I would not be paying him. If you want to watch a show that is more about the ego of the host, then this is the show for you. He is happy to keep showing himself and talking to the camera. Now if you want actual financial advice, information that can help you with your own life, look elsewhere. Seriously!
Holiday in Santa Fe (2021)
This could have been much better, with some things removed/fixed.
I lived in Santa Fe for many years. It is a unique and wonder filled place to live. The scenery for this movie brought back tons of memories. Which was great, but that and the good parts could not cover up the bad ones.
This could have been a good movie if not for the following...
1. Having Mario Lopez. Guy can't act.
2. Hank Chen. Ditto to #1.
3. How can you be in Santa Fe in winter and not show actual cold weather? It is over 7100 FT above sea level and in the middle of the mountains. Get your weather straight people. Adding coats doesn't cover it.
4. In the kids video dedicated to her grandmother, wait what is it that I hear?... The SIMS 3 music! Does EA know?
5. Anyone who can show any place in New Mexico at Christmas time and NOT include Biscochitos knows absolutely nothing about the holidays in NM!
The rest of the cast was great!
To the creators, in the future get your info straight. It is insulting to do otherwise.
The Principles of Pleasure (2022)
The world could use more like this.
Having spent a life time seeking out helpful info, and finding so much that says there is only this or that way, and anything else is just wrong, makes these episodes even more wonderful.
We need to stop living by the standards that some one else came up with when it comes to what works for us.
The only reason I didn't give this a 10 was due to a few of the women using that awful vocal fry! Makes my brain bleed! Please just stop. It doesn't make you sound smarter, quite the opposite. It makes one sound like they are very unsure about what they are saying. Making those listening take you way less seriously. Just stop please.
School of Chocolate (2021)
There was a lesson they all missed...
While the chef/teacher was teaching them all skills to use in their creations, he was also trying to teach them other skills they seemed to not notice. He did mention that they were things they needed to learn here and there throughout the show, but the people taking the class/in the competition didn't seem to get it. It saddens me when I see people stepping into the selfish/it is all about me roll that people tend to think we here in the USA have. Not all of us are that way, but the contestants certainly were. Oh, and that lesson I think he was trying to teach them all, how to be better people overall. Handling different things they will need to do in their careers (and life) to become accomplished. A few times you see someone understanding better (like when the one woman chose to have another participant sit out so that a third participant, who had not net been able to do one of the major challenges, was able to one), this was a step in the right direction. Which, sadly, the others didn't seem to understand. Overall the show was great, it just needs people/contestants who are more willing to grow.
Z Nation (2014)
We so need more shows like this out there!
People keep going on and on about how this isn't like TWD or other more recent zombie movies. It isn't supposed to be! The zombie genre has always been more 'b' rated. This show follows more along the lines of all those. Including the old "Night of the Living Dead" and beyond. I love this show. It made me laugh so many times.
I have to be honest, when I saw that the show was being made by 'The Asylum' I was so tempted to think it would be horrible. I have seen quite a few of their movies and have yet to find one I really liked. Yet I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like this show.
To compare it to TWD (which I also like and watch) is like comparing apples to oranges. TWD is good. It is more of a drama. Sometimes it is a bit of a soap. Off times it drags things out (as in all of season 4!). It has characters you come to love and some you can't wait to have turn.
Z Nation has the characters you come to love, or love to hate, but it leaves out much of the drama and soapiness, replacing it with camp and humor. It just doesn't take itself as seriously as TWD.
I watch both, and will continue to watch both, as long as I like them. They each give you their own perspective on the genre and isn't that the point of having more than one show about a subject matter? So that you get different perspectives and views? I don't know about you, but I would be pretty hard to convince to watch show that are all similar. Maybe that is why I don't watch much TV! hehe So relax and enjoy watching TWD AND Z Nation!
