Hilarious Satire with great narrative and voice talents
28 July 2010
This show is not for the faint of heart. It is gross out comedy for sure but if you can handle that, it is quite thoughtful and full of hilarious pop culture references. It is about demons sent by Satan to stop a drill from striking Hell. It turns out that the demons are more normal and perhaps moral than most of the people they interact with in this Texas company town. The neighbors and co-workers at the behemoth Corporation are usually more absurd than the Hellman family, except maybe for the perverse uncle and dog like Pazuzu. Will Sasso, Molly Shannon, Patton Oswalt, et al, are great with the voice work. Its great fun and I am pleasantly surprised each with how funny it goes and as the characters grow into sensitive caring beings.

Classic waiting for a Cult Following

I love this movie instantly. I recommend it to everyone I know who likes wacky college comedies. I consider it a true classic.

I wonder why the critics panned it universally. I got into an email exchange with the reviewer from Atlanta and she apologized.

It came out at the same time as Orange County which had Jack Black in a minor role. This was the stronger film but not enough people went to find that out.

Jason Schwartzman is the perfect villain. We get a young Jason Segel, Jaime King, Laura Prepon and the Ameritrade guy (Michael C. Maronna). It also contains some of the best cameos this side of "Play it to the Bone."

Please go and rent or buy it.

Twisted yet Sweet

I saw this film in a preview screening presented by Bobcat Goldthwait. He was incredibly funny as he talked about the hassles that he had to go through to get this film made.

It was definitely worth it. This film really cuts to the core of human relationships. It deals with love fidelity, and the value and pitfalls of secrets and honesty. Yes, it challenges society's mores, but in a sweet and very funny way.

The casting and writing are both fantastic.

The only major drawback is the graininess of some of the digital photography.

This film may end up being portrayed as a gimmick movie, but that is really an afterthought to the humanity of this fine film.
