American Dreams (2002–2005)
"THE" Best Show on Television!
27 February 2005
There is no other show on television today that can come to close to matching American Dreams. It is totally unique and cannot be compared to anything else. The characters are deep and you can relate to them all, and most of the time even when there is no dialogue, you can feel for them and understand what they're thinking. The music is woven craftly to make the message stronger. I'm 16, and i used to be the only one in my family who watched it, but then my parents and my sister caught on and every week we watch it together. my sister's in college and as soon as the episode is over, she'll call me and we talk about it. my parents especially love it because they grew up in that time and can relate to it. So please watch this amazing show, moved to Wednesday nights, at 8 on NBC!!!

Stand by Me (1986)
10/10
LOVED!!!!
21 November 2003
I admit to sayint that I am 15 and i had never seen stand by me until a week ago. I know should be shot, hehhe, but i had heard of it, i knew what it was about and i knew the actors in it. the only thing i didn't know how truly great this movie is. i loved it and i am definetly adding it to my collection. river pheonix reminds me of the late james dean. two great actors who died too young and who had so much talent. i give this a 9/10.

Seabiscuit (2003)
10/10
second time better
15 August 2003
i read the book first before seeing the movie, like you are always told to do. of course, the book is better than the movie, it always is. but, when i first saw seabiscuit, i was waiting and expecting certain things to happen and when they didn't, i was disappointed. after two weeks, i decided to go see it again, and i most definetly enjoyed it more the second time, probably because i had the book out of my head, and i could just enjoy the movie. i have always been a racing fan ever since i could remember. i had heard of seabiscuit, but i never knew the story. after reading the book, and doing a little research of my own, i couldn't wait for the movie to come out. you don't even have to be a horse or racing fan to enjoy this movie. the racing scenes let you get right in there with the jockeys and see what they see during a race. i was surprised to find out that gary stevens had a role and surprisingly did very well considering he's not an actor, but a jockey. overall i loved this movie, and the critics love it. they are saying all this stuff about oscar nominations, and even though it would be great if it did get nominated, the critics aren't the ones who vote. it's up to the academy, but hopefully they won't forget about this movie, like they did with road to perdition last year. on a scale of 1-10, i give this an 8.

Newsies (1992)
6/10
i absolutely love this movei!!
16 September 2002
apart from being a wonderful musical (which i've grown up watching so i can tell a good from a bad) it also has a wonderful story-line. the plot is so well thought of, it isn't every day when they make a musical about a strike that happened in 1899. i fell in love with this movie the first time i watched it. it's classical, and when you see it, you can't help but liking it. the dancing, acting, and singing is great. i don't know many teenagers who can dance and sing like that! evenn thought this movie was made 10 years ago and i don't remember it, it's starting to come back. my mom's friend called one day saying that her daughter loves this movie called newsies, and i said that i love it! i thought nobody knew about it, but i was wrong. how could you forget a great movie like this? if you haven't seen it, i gaurentee you 100% that you will probably end up liking it as much as i do.
