Rating Went from 10 to 1...
12 June 2021
This movie was fantastic, in so many aspects- BUT they had to ruin it with profanity. Why directors & producers have to inject profanity into an otherwise excellent film is beyond me. Actually, I do the reason; it's because they're trying to normalize profanity, vulgarity, obscenity, debauchery, etc... AT THE EXPENSE OF STANDARDS & MORALITY.

Had it not been for the numerous "F' bombs" in this film, I'd likely have given it a 8 or even a 9. Instead, they get a lowered Rating, lost revenue from viewers & Blu-ray sales...

A Great Movie EXCEPT...
28 March 2020
I actually really liked this movie right up until the last few minutes. Abrams, the liberal director, put in a gay scene! Disney is just as culpable for allowing such trash to be inserted into, an otherwise good film. Walt Disney must be rolling over in his grave. I will not be buying the 4K UHD disk, specifically for the aforementioned reason... & I'm sure I'm not the only one!

Endgame Was A BAD Ending
30 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Mighty Thor becomes an obese drunkard & abdicates his throne to some chick.

The once Incredible Hulk is now an inane Hybrid 1/2 man 1/2 Hulk & loses his arm.

Captain Marvel gets a butch haircut & now looks a lot more like Captain Michael.

The moronic writers at Marvel kill off one of the most iconic characters... IronMan!

The vast majority of the film is spent dealing with Time Travel & more Time Travel...

Matt's Chance (2013)
1/10
Should have been called Missed Chance
13 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I borrowed this DVD from a friend who actually had a small part in this disastrous film. I honestly had to FORCE myself to sit through the whole thing because after all, my friend WAS in the movie & I wanted to be able to truthfully say I'd "watched" it in its entirety. A few 15 year old teens could have created, directed & produced a far superior film than the this dung. I actually liked what Lee Majors, Gary Busey & Margot Kidder have done in their past; but partaking in a movie of this caliber (or lack thereof) begs they are washed-up &/or desperate.

I'm @ a loss, as to where I should even begin describing this ill-conceived, convoluted mess of a movie. The flick starts off with two guys sitting on a barstool, whereby Matt recounts a demented affair with his estranged ex. Then the disgruntled dude enlists the aid of Gabor, who threatens to rape some pregnant chick & then sexually violate the newborn baby! As they say, "And the beat goes on..."

In short, the poor excuse for a film begins & ends horribly- with NOTHING gratifying in between. My caveat to anyone reading this is simply this: If, for some inexplicable reason, you feel compelled to buy this movie or even waste the $$$ downloading it, do yourself a huge favor & watch the trailer for free on YouTube. You'll certainly see what I mean & be thanking me later...

Liberal Debauchery
20 December 2013
A cartoon for children should NOT be talking about "New Age & Souls." In fact, one can't help but wonder WHY Hollywood is foisting this trash! New Age is a religion & when it comes to cartoons for children, religion should not not not be subject matter. Next, they'll be injecting satanism into the children's shows! I can't remember in what context the word "souls" was mentioned in the film, but it was something to the effect of your soul being on the line (of course I'm paraphrasing, but you get the gist). Hollywood is slowly but surely becoming more & more brazen with the introduction & in the administering of subject matter to our children.

People need to start sending a clear message to those moral misfits by taking the time to write words like this, thereby promulgating a consensus. How about a concerted boycott?!?

The epitome of INjustice
2 May 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I am an avid/fanatic movie collector, as I have 400+ Blu-rays & over 400 DVDs. I purchased many of the films upon their initial release on DVD- but have never viewed. During the last couple years, since I began replacing my DVDs with Blu-rays, my only prerequisite to justifying the Blu-ray purchase was to qualify the film on DVD by 1st watching it on DVD... so as not to waste the $$$ on the Blu-ray, too! Most of the films(DVDs) passed the screening & have since graduated onto Blu-raydom.

I was very surprised that The Green Mile didn't make it-given all of the awards & the exceptionally high score here on IMDb! I was so sure it was worthy of Blu-ray status, based on the forgoing, that I wasn't even going to view/qualify it before purchasing the Blu-ray! Now, finally onto the reasoning for my DISlike of The Green Mile. 1st of all, there was NO justice! People/Viewers want (& even demand) justice! John Coffey didn't kill those girls & should NOT have been put to death! Simply put, Paul Edgecomb should have intervened (especially considering the miracles to which he bore witness!) & done ANYTHING within his means to see that the face of justice was smiling. 2nd, the film's look, feel & purpose, which was fine as a drama, did NOT meld well with the supernatural/fantasy genre! Call me crazy, but the ending of a story is 9/10 of the story, itself!

Typical Hollywood BASTARDIZED ENDING!!!
18 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Come on Hollywood, this guy was so clever, tactful & brilliant & yet you expect the audience to believer that he wouldn't even have a bloody security system installed on the very building, which was the only means of exit & entry to his prison cell... never mind that the building housed nerve & command center, from which he executed his flavour of justice!

Here's another plot hole of gargantuan proportion(s); how in the heck did Fox get the briefcase/bomb back to the jail cell BEFORE Butler returned? Oh yeah & WHY would Fox willfully allow Butler to detonate the bomb, even though he had discovered the means, by which he was perpetrating his reign of terror?!? That would be the epitome of anti-justice- especially considering he was the acting D.A.! Why didn't they show him being charged & prosecuted for murder?!?

This is a case whereby you actually wanted the bad guy to get the last word in on the matter!!! But no... Jamie Fox had to come out on top! Actually, I think Fox would/should have been the FIRST person on Butler's list! WHY couldn't Hollywood just grant this movie the ending it righteously deserved?!? It was going sooo well! Whoever is in charge of the ending to this film ought to have been on Butler's list!

All new low for superhero status!
27 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I know what some readers may be thinking... "Well, of course it's an All new low for superhero status!"" That's the premise of the movie! I'm not talking about his general (lowly) state of affairs & subsequent rise to (general) wellness. I'm talking about the standards that Hollywood is exuding to the world's youth! Within 5 minutes of opening, a little kid utters "asshole" from his mouth! Don't tell me that at least a few thousand youngsters, who've seen this garbage, aren't thinking that's funny AND emulating that kid! Secondly, what a travesty to the institution of marriage! I mean, a Charlize Theron is apparently HAPPILY married & then along comes Will... She allows her husband AND kid to witness remnants of her past that SHE chose to leave behind. Then next thing you know, she's back with her husband... as though nothing happened! Finally, it's also that Hollywood has an agenda with many of their films, of late, showcasing their interracial relationships. I'm NOT a racist, but AM against interracial relationships... & for anyone who's poised to attack this last gripe, with the movie, your great grandkids will be cursing you for not taking a stand to preserve racial integrity when the entire world is the colour of mud, with no cultural diversity, national pride, etc!!!

A Travesty to ABBA's music
14 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I took my kids (17 & 15) to see this movie & actually looked forward to it, myself, as I've always been an avid ABBA fan. Had the trailer depicted some of the horrendous singing by the likes of Pierce Brosnan, I'd probably have waited until it came to the rental market.

When writing, I'm not a big fan of lists, but this movie doesn't warrant the effort of my literary skills, in describing its magnanimous deficits; so, here goes the short list:

1)Super shallow script 2)Pitiful plot development 3)People with ZERO singing ability were singing & REALLY shouldn't have! 4)Sorrdid behaviour- (e.g., Tanya puts something between her legs, as though she has a big penis!) 5)Awful ending, as the true father wasn't even revealed & also the bride & groom don't even get married!

This movie could have been much more, had the effort been better thought out & put forth. There are sooo many more pitfalls to this movie, but in a nutshell, if you like ABBA's music, just stick to the CDs or Broadway plays...

Cloverfield (2008)

I think that was one of the worst sci-fi films I've ever seen!!!
31 January 2008
Wow, I can't believe that this film scored so high! For starters, there was virtually no character development. Even if you try to appreciate the movie for its special effects, it's a no go! Perhaps even worse, was the fact that the damn camera was shaking PROFUSELY throughout the ENTIRE movie! It's understandable that the perspective was shot via that of a novice camcorder, but they could have at least ensured that the bloody camera had Steady Shot! To say that the shaking was extremely annoying would be a gross miss understatement! As bad as the movie was, I stuck around until the end thinking that the film might somewhat at least TRY to redeem itself, by giving us some good visuals on the monster, but... Well, let's just say that I don't want to be accused of writing a spoiler!

An amazing exposé on FACTS that DEMAND action in the USA!!!
21 November 2006
Viewers, with any vested interest in the affairs of this country, must pay heed to this documentary! For those thinking that Mr. Russo (the producer/director) is a mere conspiracy nut, thereby invalidating the movie's credibility, must consider the simple fact that Mr. Russo is a respectable figure in Hollywood, who has risked much by exposing the diabolical forces in this country... for a CAUSE! Moreover, one must also consider that this film substantiates & even bolsters its claims with copious & irrefutable proof, in the way of: painstaking research, numerous interviews, famous quotations, case history, legal precedence & last but not lease- the blatant reality of events that have come to pass & worse, to come... unless PEOPLE WAKE UP!!! Another great movie of the same genre- "Loose Change" & it's viewable by performing a Google search for "Loose Change video."
