Wow! Who are those people who hate this episode??!
23 July 2021
I only saw episode 1 of this series, so my review is for it alone.

I liked the T&H movie with Tom Hanks a lot, bot I didn't expect much from a rehash of the movie into a series. The series is quite obviously meant for younger audiences, but that doesn't mean an old geezer like me cannot enjoy it. Yes special effects are on the suspect side, but it's the plot with it's human interactions that matter. The reviewers that complain about such trivial things are missing the point of this episode. It was nice to fill in the missing years after the movie, so we know immediately where we are in the series time and space. I will sum the episode with the words VERY CUTE.

I know that children will love the series, and I'm sure most adults will like too.

to me it's the best Disney animated movie ever!
27 July 2019
The Jungle Book of 1967 version is my all time favorite Disney movie. The Music is sublime and the story is so funny and engaging. Until this movie came my favorite was The Lady and The Tramp, which I still adore. The time between The Jungle Book and mid 90s was kinda meh. I still loved the movies but none stood out. Thankfully mid 90s came and returned Disney to its glory years. "I wanna be like you" with the great Louis Prima and Phil Harris is one of the funniest and most fetching songs in movie history! The voice actors are perfectly matched to the animals. This movie is perfection! If you haven't seen this movie; watch it! It's a must.

Shazam! (2019)

A movie for the whole family
6 April 2019
I was never a great fan of Shazam when it ran on tv. I watched it sporadically but was never was attached to it like I did to Spider-Man. I went to the movie with some trepidation but came away very satisfied with what I have just seen. I see some reviews that give this movie a 1 or a 2 stars!!! How can that be? We had to watch entirely different movie. Even if a viewer is a child hater there are still many things to like in the movie. I thought that Mr. Levy did a great job bringing out the 14 year old Billy Baston within him. And how can someone not like the sarcastic Freddy who basically becomes his coach and mentor. The movie is funny all the way through and is in contrast to the dark undertone that DC movie universe maintains. I gave it "only" an 8 since a 10 is a masterpiece and a 9 is a bit below. A 1 is reserved for a movie without any value whatsoever. People keep giving it to movies willy nilly just because they were disappointed with it. You don't like a movie give it a 3 or a 4. A reviewer should be just as stingy with their high ratings as their low ones.

Kim Possible (2019 TV Movie)

Who let this drek into the Disney lineup??!
17 February 2019
I am an old man who is still a sucker for all things Disney. I was sooo looking forward to see this movie... To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. Overacting may work in a cartoon but it NEVER translate into live action. I have no problem with changing the races and names of various characters, I guess that in today's over sensitivities of the younger generations they had to adapt. still it was literally a torture to watch it till the end. I kept hoping it will improve. Alas it just kept going along with the same stupid overacting that help destroy any attempt at coherent plot. I was wondering why not have Kim at the big screen like they did with Toy Story II. After seeing the movie I understand. Shame on you Disney for ruining a very great series into a terrible and UNforgetable disaster. I hope I will be able to unsee it.

Ignore the nay sayers!
5 June 2018
I read so many bad reviews of this movie that I was quite apprehensive when I went to see it. Perhaps it was for the best since I found the movie to be quite enjoyable. Many reviewers complained about the "slow" pace of the 1st half of the movie. I found it to be engaging, and while not quite as "fast" as the 2nd half, it was still not at all slow. I guess what I consider slow will be glacial to whoever complained about the pace of this movie. I liked all the main characters, and thought that it creates a good fabric for a series of movies involving Han & Chewy. I liked Deadpool more but only by a small margin. DP gets a 9 while Solo gets an 8.

A disappointment
31 January 2012
About 12 years ago, my daughter gave me a book to read, by the name of "One For The Money" The book was funny and very addictive. I proceeded to purchase the rest of the Plum books that were available at that time, and continued to buy every single book that became available over the years.

I went to the movie with a lot of trepidation. The 1st thing that caught my eye, was that they chose an actress with BROWN eyes! Stephanie's eyes are blue and they are part of her character and heritage (1/2 Hungarian). Another very irksome problem was the car! Big Blue is a 1953 Buick - a remarkable car. It is NOT the very REPULSIVE and Forgettable by both men and women, 1970s GM POS! Still one can live with these choices if the rest of the movie was good. But it was not!

The charm of the book is in the many many minutia of details about Trenton, the Burg, the Italian heritage in the Burg, and Steph's relations with her family. All this was skimmed by the movie, and thus, I did not get the feeling of connection to many of the characters. Ms Heigl tried mightily, but the task was just too big. While she is likable, I never quite felt the "Plumness" that is so prevalent in the books. Mr O'mara, whom I watched in "Life on Mars" and in the current "Terra Nova" and Mr Sunjata were serviceable as Morelli and Ranger. The movie was not horrible, and I did not hate it. It was just meh. I have the feeling that the movie would have shown better on the small screen. As a TV pilot. With time to develop more depth in the characters in later episodes, I would have enjoyed it more.

Fun Movie
29 June 2010
I don't know why Mr. Cruise rubs me the wrong way? Not in his movies, in his regular ordinary life. I do like him as an actor, though. I cannot recall a movie of his that I did not enjoy. It is hard to imagine a "star" who is underrated, but Tom comes very close to such a description. The movie is a very enjoyable action comedy, with great chemistry between Tom and Cameron. Highly recommended. AND NOW to one of the mysteries of life :) I gave this film a rating of 8 stars, and I can see how people can give it a 6 or a 9, all depends on one's personality. Still, WHO ARE THOSE WHO GIVE A MOVIE - ALMOST ANY MOVIE - a 1 or a 2??? To be so bad the movie has to have no redeeming values whatsoever. No acting, no plot, terrible filmography etc. They are the same one who give an F to a movie such as Toy Story 3, on Box Office Mojo. Who are they????
