Hallucinogenic trip
4 August 2022
Well, everyone relates a movie to their life's experiences. In the 60s and 70s we "experimented" with some very heavy hallucinogens. Some were a true out-of-body experience. Coming down, you would get glimpses of reality and thing would start to make sense, and then you'd start tripping out into mental confetti. That is exactly what this movie was like to me. Things would start to make sense and then it would turn into mental gibberish. The underlying theme here is an acceptable explanation for the crazy ride.

I could take it or leave it. I'm surprised so many people raved about it. I honestly didn't get anything from it and could have done without it.

Great little Indie flick
4 August 2022
This is a great little Indie flick. Clever script and keeps moving throughout. No, it's not a mega budget Steve Spielberg Sci Fi production, but it was a well acted, fun, entertaining movie. Great light entertainment!

Comic book story
30 March 2022
This movie is was so bad I've lowered my opinion about Liam. I always thought Liam had some standard that his movies had to live up to. This movie proved me wrong. This movie had so many plot holes, inconsistencies, contradictions and flat out BS in it I would have to think it was written for ten year olds. Two examples-one, all the driver's had bobblehead dolls on their dashboards. Supposedly when the ice was going to break there would be "pressure waves" that would cause the bobbleheads to go crazy. Absolute unscientific garbage. Second, they had a shot from "under the ice" to show a truck going through the ice. It shows the ice about 4-6" thick. I knew this was absolute BS. I checked online and it said for the ice truckers to drive on ice they needed a MINIMUM of 40 inches. That like 10 times more than what the movie wanted you to believe. There was garbage all through the movie like this, making it impossible to take it seriously!

Shame on you, Liam!

Excellent low budget indie
6 March 2022
This movie was a very well done, low budget, indie flick. It kept my attention. It was well produced and the acting was decent. The thing that I thought was the most impressive, was the whole movie was shot entirely on one small stage, the size of the cell the actors were in. Each scene used the same stage, set up to be the current cell the actors were in. This helped the crew to run on a shoestring budget. Genius!

Well paced, well shot flick

Great flick. Never got boring. Great job by actors, crew and writers.

There were some exterior clips that were gorgeous. Very well put together. The pace of the movie kept interest through out the whole movie.

Horrible fake garbage
4 February 2022
Well since I quit watching the show because it was so fake, I guess I was stupid to think the movie was going to be any different. It started out good, with all the background info, done in an believable documentary style. But it just got worse and worse ending in the cameraman freaking out. I guess as fictional horror flick, I was all right, but when it's presented as fact, that just insults our intelligence.

Made on a bet.
20 December 2021
There is a good excuse for this movie being so bad. I had read that the guy who made this film had a $10,000 bar bet. He bet someone he could make a horror movie that would show in the theaters. As you can see, he won the bet.

Now in my book, that's a fine excuse for a horrible movie!

Piece of garbage
8 September 2021
I don't know what anyone could see in this movie over the age of 13. Infantile jokes are giving them too much credit. Just one horrible joke after the other. All of them raunchy and tasteless. No redeeming qualities in this movie. Another of Sandler's horrible bombs!

Did I mention that it's unwatchable??

Fun little flick
22 August 2021
I thought it was pretty good for a low budget flick. Enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. Some of the acting was questionable, but I thought the main actors were fine. For what it is, it was good.

Crappy movie
16 June 2021
Disgusting movie. Little discernable as a plot. Gross substances everywhere. A lot of gratuitous gore. Horrible death metal music I had to turn down everytime it came on. Probably perfect for adolescents. Not me! But I did watch it all. Had to see what would happen.

Good script
27 January 2021
I thought this was a great movie for what it was. To film an entire movie in a bathroom with five actors and keep your attention though the whole thing takes a good script and decent acting. This movie suceeded!

Beautiful cinematography

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and locals. This is the first show I've seen from the middle east and was quite intrigued. It seems like something fishy is going on with all the bad reviews. I enjoyed it! 6 out of 10

Mr Stirton's little miracle
27 July 2014
Quite an accomplishment for a first film on a micro budget. Obviously all the haters & whiners haven't an inkling of what it takes to produce a film.

The movie is gritty and the effects aren't the greatest... However the plot is coherent, the acting is decent and the pacing was sufficient to hold my complete attention through out the whole movie.

This movie was shot with an £8000 (about $12,000 US?) budget. Mr Stirton also only had TEN days for shooting. Considering this, it's a miracle that this movie was A LOT better than some SciFi flicks I've seen that cost a hundred times more!

Laughed my a$$ off
25 July 2014
All right... compared to "Citizen Cane" or "Mutiny on the Bounty", it might be a couple of stars... but it's not supposed to be a serious grand epic.

To think the Soska Sisters made this movie in film school for $2500, IMHO, they deserve an academy award. Warner Bros or Universal, couldn't even get a van on location for that! What the hell do you haters & whiners expect?

Yes, it contains gratuitous, cartoonish, over the top gore and violence, BUT THAT IS THE NATURE OF THE GENRE!

I found the movie hilarious, fast paced and extremely entertaining.

When rating a movie, I believe it is only fair to consider such factors as budget and genre. To really dog a movie like this, is like dogging a 1963 VW Bug compared to 2014 Porsche. It just ain't fair.

For these reasons I rate "Dead Hooker in a Trunk" 8 out of 10 stars...

Bigfoot Lives (2007)

not impressed
19 July 2014
First, I believe Bigfoot exists. I believe it is a North American relative of the gorilla. Having said that, I have a hard time believing much in this film.

Tom Biscardi, the man behind this film, was involved in not just one, but two major Bigfoot hoaxes. One of which was the one where the hoaxers claimed to have a Bigfoot body in a freezer. People were scammed out of money, to watch the unveiling of the body. The body never existed and Biscardi claimed to have been fooled himself. He ended up having to refund people their money.

There were eye witnesses is in this movie that I'm sure were sincere and honest, but Tom Biscardi's integrity is compromised.

I just grabbed this movie off the rack at the library. Had I seen that Tom Biscardi had any thing to do with it, I would probably not have bothered.

Some really bad movies are fun to watch. THIS IS NOT ONE!
23 March 2008
Why can't a movie be rated a zero? Or even a negative number? Some movies such as "Plan Nine From Outer Space" are so bad they're fun to watch. THIS IS NOT ONE. "The Dungeon of Horror" might be the worst movie I've ever seen (some of anyway. I HAD to fast forward through a lot of it!). Fortunately for the indiscretions of my youth and senility of my advancing age, there may be worse movies I've seen, but thankfully, I can't remember them. The sets appeared to be made with cardboard and finished with cans of spray paint. The special effects looked like a fifth grader's C+ diorama set in a shoebox. The movie contained unforgivable gaffs such as when the Marquis shoots and kills his servant. He then immediately gets into a scuffle with his escaping victim, who takes his flintlock and shoots him with it, without the gun having been reloaded! This movie was so bad my DVD copy only had name credits. I guess no company or studio wanted to be incriminated. Though I guess when you film in your garage and make sets out of cardboard boxes a studio isn't needed. This movie definitely ranks in my cellar of all time worst movies with such horrible sacrileges as "The Manipulator", the worst movie I have ever seen with an actual (one time) Hollywood leading man-Mickey Rooney. The only time I would recommend watching "The Dungeon of Harrow" (or "The Manipulator" for that matter) would be if someone were to pay you. (I'm kind of cheap) I'd have to have $7 or $8 bucks for "Dungeon" and at least ten for "Manipulator". phil-the never out of the can cinematographer
