Sweet Home Alabama (2002)
i loved it!
this is the best movie i've seen in years. it made me laugh and cry, then laugh again. it's a perfect blend of romance, comedy, and drama. i've found myself watching it over and over again. the entire cast really shines in this film. it's not just centered around reese witherspoon. (not to down-grade her acting, of course. she plays melanie beautifully.) josh lucas is fantastic. they couldn't have found a better actor to play jake. from what i've seen, this is definately his best work. one thing i especially liked was that the southern accents you hear in this movie don't sound phony. granted, this may be because many of the actors are from the south, but it was still an added bonus. to sum things up, this movie is great. i highly recommend it.
The Scarlet Letter (1995)
an enjoyable movie
i enjoyed this movie, and have seen it several times. i feel the producers did a pretty good job of telling the story. granted, the movie is not exactly like the book, but that's to be expected in any film. gary oldman plays arthur dimmsdale very well. whether you've read the book or not, this movie is worth seeing.
