Double Jeopardy (1999)
What's wrong with you people??
I couldn't belive it when I read these comments and most of them were negative. This is one of my favorite movies!! I absolutely loved it. I think Ashley Judd is an incredible actress and Libby is my favorite character that she plays. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. What I love most is all the steps she goes through to finally find her husband and son. I just feel like screaming "GO Girl!!" like half the time. I love the character of Libby and how she is so strong and smart and doesn't take any crap from anybody. I don't know why people didn't like this movie more. I think it is wonderful and really touching about a mother's love. Regardless of what these other comments say... go see this movie!! Decide for yourself what you think but I doubt you will be bored. Wonderful movie!! 10/10
Gone with the Wind (1939)
A truly beautiful film that will never be outdone!
This film is truly one of the greats! The fact that it was made so long ago just adds to its beauty. I don't think that it could have been done better. Even though it lacks many key points of the book, for the time they had it is without a doubt a masterpiece to say the least. How anyone could not love this film is beyond me. Vivian Leigh is magnificent and truly deserving of her Best Actress Award. Scarlett is the only main character of any book I have ever read that did not put her as the herione and everyones favorite character. She is the character you love and hate. Love because, well she is the main character and the pretty southern belle that does have her moments. And yet she hated because, let's face it...she's not very nice. She does some very terrible things and acts like a brat throughout her life, but it's hard to hold that against her. If only she would have wised up sooner and realized that Ashley is a wimp and that Rhett is so perfect for her. Oh well! That is the charm of the film. This movie earned every award it won. It was so beautifully made and has me in tears every time I watch it. This is a must see film and one of the true classics! Go and watch it right now! 10/10!
Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993)
A great movie that every choir should see!!
I don't care what most people say...I loved this movie!! I thought it was better than the 1st but I can see from reading the other comments not many people agree with me, but that's OK. I'll just be alone in this one. What makes it for me is the teenagers. I love the kids in this movie. Amual makes me crack up every time I watch it and I think Lauryn Hill is fabulous! OK so the ending is very predictable but I think would have been disappointed if they hadn't won. Am I right?! I love watching the ending over and over, or when Amual hits that high note for their first concert. Anyways...I don't see how people don't love this movie, it's so fun and has such a great message! I'd much rather watch teenagers that I can relate to in the sequel than a bunch of old nuns in the 1st Sister Act but that's just me! Guess I'm alone here!
One thing I want to say though regardless of anything is that I think every school choir should show this movie! I'm in the choir at my school and unfortunately we have very little spirit and most people in it don't care very much. I'm going to recommend that we show this movie to my choir teacher. It may not help but it can't hurt. I recommend every choir see this one just to show that a choir can dance and have fun while singing. At least show the ending if nothing else! Ok there's my two cents! Everyone needs to see the movie at least for the music and to have a good time!
I give this movie a 9.5/10!
Daydream Believers: The Monkees' Story (2000)
Loved it!!
Let me first say that the only reason that I ever decided to watch this movie is because Aaron Lohr (one of my favorite actors) is in it. I wasn't expecting much but I just really wanted to see Aaron. (Shallow I know) But it turned out it was really good I thought. I remember seeing the show when I was younger (reruns of coarse as I am still pretty young) and thought they were great. The movie did not disappoint me. I couldn't believe the resemblance of the actors to the real monkeys!! It was uncanny. Especially Mike, I mean they must have cloned him. The acting was great! Haha even "Jack Nicholson" I thought was very convincing with his facial expressions of Jack. And of coarse Aaron did not disappoint me either. Ok so I'm a little partial but I don't think anyone could argue with his performance. He was the energy of the film! The only fault I could find was the ending. I was like really excited and then it was like...It's over!?! But hey it can't go on forever right?? I would recommend this to anyone. I can honestly say I love the Monkees a lot more than I used to since this film. They're such great guys! I'm going to buy it soon on DVD and I can't wait to watch it again! I give it 9.5 stars!
Newsies (1992)
A wonderful movie that brings back the old glamor of musicals!
This wonderful musical brings back the old wonder of the classic musicals of the past. I love to watch guys dance and this movie definitely fills that liking. I must have watched it 20 times now and it never seems to get old. It makes you want to get up and dance and sing and gives you a lot of respect for the children of that time who would stand up for their rights against all odds. It's lively and has a lot of great talent. It makes me sad that it wasn't more popular. I wish musicals would come back and I salute Disney for attempting this even if they failed. It has a 10 in my book!
