Simply wonderful!!
15 October 2005
Simply wonderful observational humour! Before you watch this try and remember what it was like at family weddings; and then let Peter Kay tell you.

Imagine what it would be like to be an old lady whose family still surround you and gently smile at your little ways; and then watch Peter Kay tell you about his gran - who is in the audience and laughs as much as anyone.

Peter Kay analyses people and reduces them down to the scared little kid in us all and bursts the bubbles of pretencion in anyone. We all know that deep down we would like to be the kid who slides across the floor on his knees at a wedding and it makes us laugh to realise that.

Peter Kay has the ability to craft a show about us and show us why we are all really scared little kids in big peoples clothes and we love every minute of having our egos and pretencions destroyed.

Peter Kay takes us to a world that we would all love to live in and it is only afterwards that we realise that we already do.

Wonderful!

A Beautiful Film
28 October 2004
This is truly a beautiful film.

Well written and superbly acted it tugs at the heartstrings harder than almost any other movie. The way it sets up an obvious story line and then like a gentle roller-coaster suddenly takes you in another direction is unequalled in this type of film.

There are so many points of genuine sadness and whenever you think you have guessed the story you suddenly turn to find an outcome more surprising than you thought.

Major characters die, major characters do not "fall in love" and major characters are not allowed to cop-out; it is as a film should be.

Remarkable well written, produced with care and acted with understatement and love - it is a beautiful film.

Watch it.

Feelgood film
27 September 2003
Every now and again you need to remember you are a human, with all the frailties, emotions and fears that encompasses.

This is not a clever film, it is not a masterpiece, but it is worth indulging yourself with; and for a while just sitting back and remembering that life is not really about how rich, how popular or how exciting you are - it is about how you relate to others.

Sit back and enjoy

Every budding stand-up take note
12 December 2002
As an example in how to create the perfect stand-up routine this stands supreme. No smut, no racism, no offensive material whatsoever just a beautifully crafted stage act.

The observational humour is outstanding and the fact that many of the people he discusses, his wife, his mother and his (not my real) auntie, sit watching is quite remarkable. Comedy is often based on innuendo and insults, the target of Peter Kays humour sit and join in the laughter. How many comedians could have the target of their humour sitting and laughing with them?

Watching Peter Kay live, just last night, it was incredible how many of the audience were sitting desperate to create the atmosphere of this video and Peter Kay is aware of this, and promises he will "not let us down"

Watch this video and enjoy not only an outstandingly funny video but also marvel at how a comic genius has created images that will remain in your mind for a very long time.

And then you can return to t'internet.
