What's all the fuss?

OK, it's an enjoyable film, but, really, what's the big deal? I suppose there's some interesting stuff about the difference between social classes, but that's not really explored. And, of course, there's a lot of (quite explicit) sexual shenanigans. But someone really needs to explain to me why this is more than just an averagely good movie.

The Auteur Theory (1999)

Quite clever and enjoyable

Well, I certainly had a good laugh -- actually, many good laughs -- while watching this film. Quite clever stuff, and a delightful savaging of the pretensions of student and "indie" filmmakers.

Especially enjoyed the exploits of The Unknown Filmmaker -- perhaps, following in the footsteps of the protagonist here (the delightfully-named George Sand) I'll do my own documentary, "In Search of The Unknown Filmmaker"!

A rousing cheer for this film, what what!
