Utterly confusing and disappointing
6 June 2023
This one had so much potential, so much build up, and then just fell flat. I was excited to see some incredible actors in the same apocalyptic film, the set up was riveting, I was sure it was going somewhere... but to reel in your viewers with hints of different objectives and near climatic moments is just deterring. There is an awful moment where I thought "please turn into a revenge story" which in a very annoying way it was, if you can even call it a story at all. If you're having a depressive episode you'll definitely vibe this one. If you're not depressed and bored this is a good way to kick it off. I would recommend this to no one, and only gave it the three stars I did for the first 45 promising minutes of the film that seemingly had a chunk of us fooled. I hate being this critical, but it was so disappointing.

I love cliche but this one was a dumpster fire.

Warning: Spoilers
We start off with a young woman telling her mother she'll be back when she gets back--don't touch the bills on the table, she'll get to those when she gets back.

Next were boarding this boat with a group of researchers that are studying aliens, intelligence extraterrestrials? Man I want that job.

Then we hit a point where we're studying a dead fish. It was cooked alive. Must be a sign from god-of course this is all a religious bit.

Then, wait! Something hit the boat. It was a pig. Its all wet and must have randomly crashed into the boat. The pig is Pua. This is Moana.

After Alien pig, I shut it off. The whole vibe of the film was just... not it. Packed with Cliches but the mystery here isn't a mystery, it's just random and boring.

I do not review often, but I had to comment
1 May 2023
I stuck through the ups and downs of this one. The first episode was rather boring, then things turned exciting in the next, and then it all kind of fell short... I love the concept of this series, but the direction it took was highly disappointing. They gathered a ton of incredible actors for a series that was half finished. It makes me sad to admit because it had so much potential. There were bits of time that felt like "well this is just a big filler". I hope that if it were to carry on it took a different approach, more visualization in the disaster side of things and not individual stories that only frustrate the viewer. No talk of how everyone feels about their fate, just drama drama drama. Maybe there's a metaphor there, but I'm too annoyed to figure that out.

Kate Winslet is truly the most versatile actress
30 May 2021
I never gave Kate Winslet much credit until I gave this show a shot and it opened my eyes to how incredibly talented she really is. Kate is not the only one keeping me on this show, because the cast alone is incredible, all around amazing acting. I'm on my second rewatch of this season (which is in 6 episodes) and find so much of this show absolutely riveting. Even if I end up hating the outcome of the series, I have to keep my review and give this one the credit it deserves. Mare of Easttown is well worth the time.

Clearly you all have never seen an Adam Sandler movie
9 October 2020
I'm not sure why everyone is stressing out over the voice. That's one of Adam Sandlers biggest things, stupid voices are the heart and soul of his comedy. Come on guys, lighten up. Love the cast, fun Halloween film! Sandler fans will appreciate it.
