Best Actress (2004)
Very impressive for a film shot entirely in one take.
Best Actress is a 17 or 18 minute film shot entirely in one take. Carlo Caccavale certainly deserves great praise for pulling off such an ambitious feat so successfully. The film is also brilliantly shot by cinematographer Sion Michelle in an intimate but non-intrusive manner. The true star of the film, however, is certainly Michelle Krusiec. She is on screen alone for the entire film and it is her tour-de-force performance that truly keeps the film moving and us caring. Michelle carries the film with her performance as a famous actress enveloped in the childlike abandon of true love. We enjoy watching her bask in the glow of her big night, until something begins to go terribly wrong. The film takes us on a powerful 18 minute journey to heights and depths of a love. And Ms. Krusiec deftly crafts her way through each and every step of the journey with poise, strength, and vulnerability.
