How did I miss a horror with Robert De Niro in it?

Knowing Robert De Niro was in this, I definitely had to watch this. Most good horror movies are found by accident.

This movie had great actors all the way around, with a good horror & science fiction theme. You know something's up, then good plot twists revealed, so....... why did it fail? The screenplay writing was like dropping an anvil on your foot.

Know that you know this, pay attention because there are secrets and hint to what could have been a great horror movie.

Coulda been a great movie, woulda been a great movie, and it certainly shoulda been a great movie; but wasn't. Too bad. 6 outta 10.

First off, I am not into these types of movies but felt compelled to write a review because it deserves a standing ovation. Acting great, true story great & beautiful scenery. Don and Melanie did a good job too ;) Even if you're not into these movies- watch it, you won't be disappointed!

Anyone who sees these 2 characters as the downfall of youth and think this is 'the most shocking part', you just don't get it. Look harder. This is an inside peek at high school today (and I'm old enough to be their grand... ahem, older relative). The whole show is fantastic and truthful. If you don't get it, I'm sorry for you. If you think this is not age appropriate, then you are older than me (dirt), or narrow minded and should just change the channel.

Wow, how did I miss this gem? I truly hope Dan realizes how rare it is to find gold in a stream. Unlike Seinfeld, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond & Two and a Half Men (4 TV comedies that ran their course); this show feels like it still has so much more to offer than 6 short seasons. If you can find it, binge. This is the best thing I've discovered, and I have the Corona Virus Outbreak to thank.

Now that I got the obvious out of the way, onto the review....... The truth is, with this cast, it could be a tv show about watching paint dry and it would still be worth the watch. If you haven't seen it yet, you must. This is my replay- I watched season 1, saw the last episode, then went back to the 1st episode and replayed season 1 again in one sitting. My only complaint about season 2 is that I have to wait a week to watch the next episode. I'm not kidding.

I have not seen so much ambiguity with the reviewer ratings like you see here- I guess some enjoyed it while others hated it. I just finished watching season 2 and I liked the development of the actors and felt that SMILF had a solid base, and a direction to move towards, so I went looking to see if there were any teasers for season 3 and BAM- it's gone! The stand out of the show was Rosie O'Donnell. I'm hopeful that she will find (or that someone will write) a dramady around her. She really hit the nail on the head with her character, and I'm sorry to see her and the other characters go.

The Clovehitch Killer (2018)

What a great movie- yes, it's a slow burn, but well worth it. I have a feeling the low rating is from people that wanted an action thriller, where this is filled with suspense. I am so glad I did not let the bad reviews dissuade me from watching- I love finding hidden gems.

Why Him? (2016)

Funny as heck- I'm still crying

Not sure why almost all the reviews here are negative. I found it very funny, and 1/2 way through I was waiting for the sappy feel good crap to take over the movie- thankfully that didn't happen until the last 10 minutes, and the last 2 minute wrap up made up for it. I don't care if the jokes are sophomoric- as long as they are funny- which they were. I don't care if it had 'potty humor'- as long as it's funny. I watched it on HBO last night, and had to watch it a second time because at certain points I was laughing so hard I missed what was being said. I started watching with no high hopes, and ended up crying from the funny silly jokes- sploosh! IMO- Give it a chance- at the very least you'll have a few giggles and add a new word to your vocabulary (NOT sploosh)LOL.

Darkening Sky (2010)

Pretty decent movie

Let me start off by saying I have seen many awful movies on this subject. This one was pretty good and deserved a better rating. It held my attention, piqued my interest, and had an interesting twist at the end.

Is it about an alien abduction? Eric Rainer seems to think so. He has flashbacks of strange events which start off when he was a little boy, and have haunted him throughout his life. He's been collecting 'evidence' to try and put the pieces of this mystery together. His girlfriend Cindy thinks it is nonsense and is ready to leave him, until the night she disappears.

Eric hooks up with the new neighbor's niece, Beth, who is also looking for her BF who mysteriously disappeared; and together they try to find out the truth about the aliens.

I don't want to give too much away, so I'll stop here. Watch and enjoy the movie, so we can discuss the ending on the boards......
