Vikings: Treachery (2014)
Strong performance of Linus Roach as King Ecbert
I love the Viking series, but Michael Hirst didn't care about being historic accurate at all. The episode starts
with King Ecbert speaking about his time when he lived at the court of Emperor Charlemagne.
He was with a Charlemagne's party at a harbor town in Southern Gaul. Gaul was the the region inhabited by the ancient Gauls, comprising modern-day France and parts of Belgium, western Germany, and northern Italy,
Southern Gaul at a harbor town would be.
Narbonensis was Southern Gaulle, and that included Marseille. Maybe the were at harbor town at the river rhone so the Northmen could only have come through the medeterian sea. Before they even found Enland they sailed across the North Sea and the English Channel and sailing across the Atlantic ocean passing Gaul's Western coastline, passing through the strait of gibraltar entering
the Medeterian sea.
The episode was entertaining.
