10 Things I Hate About You (1999)

Hilarious movie

I love this movie! I love romantic comedies with a good ending. Everything was perfect. The first part where everyone meets each other, the part where everything falls apart and the part that they all make up again. They got every scenario right.

I love how it shows that love can be found in all corners of the world, in this case the school. You have the popular kids falling in love, and the less popular kids that also fall in love. All comes with the right amount of school drama and lots of comedy ofcourse.

Also in this movie, chemistry was good between all the actors. They make acting look so easy.

Me Before You (2016)

Heartwarming romance

I would give this movie a 10/10 if it didn't end the way it did. Personally I feel like a romantic movie should have the perfect ending. If the end is not romantic it breaks me. That's kind of what this movie did to me. This is a perfect love story where a boy and a girl fall in love with each other over time. It's the perfect romance. He is depressed, she is crazy and she shows him that there is so much more to this world than what he knew before he met her. He sure showed how much he appreciated her for teaching him to live again. So when it ended the way it did, I was speechless. The chemistry between the actors is so real, I was convinced they dated in real life too. They're such good actors. To watch such a romantic love story and have to watch it end the way it did really broke me. I couldn't stop crying and I thought about it for days. I kept thinking that this is not the way it was supposed to end. Sure fairy tales cannot always end the way we want it but in movies it should. I recommend.

Nine to Five (1980)

Satisfying and neat

I watched this 1980 movie in 2024 and it is better than most movies these days. It's pure comedy. No sex, no cursing, no violence, no special effects. When they got mad they expressed themselves so neatly, I was genuinely impressed. Can't imagine there was ever a time where everyone was so polite even when they're not polite. I found the movie hilarious and so creative. It shows that when people are working together, they can pull off the most crazy things. I loved the feminine energy in the movie. The movie must have been popular in the 80's as it shows the struggle of women working in a man's world. Very realistic if I may say. I never knew Dolly Parton could act but she did an amazing job. So did Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin ofcourse. Amazing trio that gave a good example of what a real friendship should look like. I'm definitely recommending this movie.

500 Days of Summer (2009)

Unpredictable

Let's start with saying this is not a romantic comedy. There are romantic parts, but no funny parts. I think it depends on what you would describe as funny.

It is a storyline of 2 people (boy and girl) in a period of 500 days. The days however, are all mixed up. Jumping from day 11 to day 329 back to day 50 or something. I found it confusing and couldn't really keep track of the timeline. I found the movie a bit boring in the beginning, then I thought it's just very realistic. No clichés, almost like a true story. Then there is this part where the main character starts dancing in the streets and everyone joins, even a cartoon bird, so not realistic after all. I found it hard to watch after that and I never finished the movie. They warn you upfront that it's not a love story, yet they get romantically involved.

The acting was good though, I give it 5 stars for the acting.

27 Dresses (2008)

Romantic

I love a romantic comedy. This one definitely meets the expectations. Even though I don't think anyone in real life has 27! (female) friends, the thought behind it is amusing. Makes the concept of the movie even more dramatic. There is some pettiness in the movie as well which I low-key enjoyed. I also loved to see that there was no man misbehaving or acting macho. The men characters were nice, funny and respectful which are good examples. The acting is good, there was definitely chemistry between the actors and I feel they chose the right actors/actresses for every role. I would rewatch this movie on a girls night. Definitely recommending it.

Noelle (2019)

Absolutely love it

I absolutely loved this movie and I definitely recommend watching it. This is the kind of movie I will watch yearly on Christmas. It just makes me feel so much joy and it makes me laugh a lot. Definitely a Christmas comedy. Amazing acting from all the actors and the story is also very good written. It shows that there is so much more we can give others besides presents. Being kind and helping out when needed sometimes is appreciated more than materialistic things. Then there is baby reindeer Snow Cone which is so C-U-T-E! I don't have the words to describe the cuteness of the reindeers. Very well done making these. Overall this movies really deserves a 10/10 rating.

Last Christmas (2019)

Surprisingly different

I'll try to write a review without any spoilers because I wouldn't want to ruin the first response of anyone watching this movie. Definitely a Christmas movie. I love the acting but then again I'm already a big fan of Emilia Clarke. The story is romantic, the chemistry between the actors is so good. It was very realistic too but the end ruined it a bit for me. It was definitely not how I expected the story to end, which is both good and bad. I've watched so many movies, I mostly know how it ends but this took me by surprise which is good. I would just have wished a different ending that's all. I don't think anyone can really predict how it ends. I got mixed feelings after the movie. I was sad and a little angry at the story but also surprised. I won't forget this movie anytime soon but I would definitely not watch it again. Once is enough.

Christmas Again (2021 TV Movie)

Fun to watch

I liked this movie. It started off a little boring but once the kid realized what was going on, it was fun to watch. I imagine that I would do exactly the same if I would be her. She relived Christmas day over and over again and there were no consequences. She could spent all of their money, next day is like nothing happened. She made the most out of this situation. This movie got me daydreaming of what I would do if I would live the same day over and over again and money not being an issue, which is living my life at the fullest. I'll be honest, some things were very predictable. I also like the fact that there wasn't a (very) sad moment in the movie. Most Christmas movies make me cry at some point but this movie was just very enjoyable. Would watch it again.

Same Time, Next Christmas (2019 TV Movie)

Not worth it

Terrible movie to my opinion. I kept skipping parts, I've never done that before. I keep watching even when I don't feel like it. I don't know why this is such a bad movie because I like the actors in it. They just didn't have any chemistry at all and the story writing is terrible. Having your heart broken twice and still calling off an engagement to be with the guy who broke your heart doesn't make any sense. The fiance was the good guy in this story. I just couldn't feel it. I was thinking about rating 4 start, but then I realized there is nothing I like about this movie except for the actor, so I rated 3 stars just for the actors. Honestly, Olivia's parents stole the show. I created an account just to write this review, that's how frustrated I am. The movie has nothing to do with Christmas by the way, just that they are in Hawaii during Christmas time.
