It had moments..But the story was half a rehash and half thought through..

Warning: Spoilers
I'll start by stating I really like Prometheus and have rewatched it a good few times..I couldn't understand the flak Prometheus got..My thoughts was it left the field for the story to expand..So Alien Covenant came along and I was up for it..Alas,Alien Covenant wasn't up for it.!.I found the story and most of the characters half baked and lent from other alien movies..I felt sorry for the main character who was like Ripley in fight and wardrobe..Though the actor playing her really did the best she could..In fact her acting strength just got this movie ticking along enough..If she wasn't such a good actor this film,it really would have sank further than Alien4.. But as I was hoping Covenant would grow from Prometheus but it withered..In fact it withered so bad the next Alien film isn't going to follow Covenant or Prometheus and be "something new"..Part of the "something new",is Romulus is gonna be a Disney production.... Yeah...But back to Covenant..It does have some good scenes but not enough..So not great but not Alien4 either.!

Rocky Star (1993–1994)

Crazy genius of a show and too overlooked
19 October 2023
It's hard to put into words this series as I've never seen anything like it before or since. To take a old radio show from the 1950's and have actors sync their acting to it..Then have this all somehow turn out to be an incredible experience to watch is genius.!.When I first watched this show I was mesmerized as much as puzzled and as much as I was delighted. Rocky Star must be seen to be believed in its daring and fun. How this show hasn't a massive cult following is either a shame or just waiting to happen. Kerry Fox is the only cast member to go on to much bigger things and it's sorry the other cast didn't..In all Rocky Star is so worth the watch and applause for its daring and vision.

Clockwise (1986)

As charming as it is funny as it is great.!

I can only agree with other reviewers here when they write about this wonderful comedy being very underrated. Ok it's very 1980's but why am I writing this like this comedy from 1980's was a bad thing. The story and characters gel very well and just like a 1980's hairstyle full of hairgel,it has its style. There are some brilliant scenes with John Cleese making a mess of a uphill battle with mainly himself as others watch on in bewilderment. The plot ticks along and draws the viewer in well to the chaos of Cleese's character and he's struggles..This is the sort of film best on a lazy rainy Sunday to bring its cheer and laughter. It's a real charmer and a joy to watch.

Not a equal as a sequel to Wanda. But ok
19 October 2023
I remember when fierce creatures came out and having the same cast members as A fish called Wanda much was expected. It was tagged as "Not a sequel but a equal"..Well it wasn't no Wanda and Cleese himself in conversation with the late Michael Winner said he regretted making it. But the film really does have some very funny moments and it's own charm. Michael Palin is just great in this film and really glues the plot and cast together. John Cleese himself is good as well as Jamie Lee Curtis and the multi role playing Kevin Kline. But somehow in areas it misses its mark or the heart suddenly disappears. But saying all that I would happily watch Fierce creatures again and enjoy it..Often I think and find it hard to forgive that John Cleese and the Wanda gang didn't seal the deal and make another film together and complete the trilogy...Shame..

So many laughs and memories

My favorite comedy of the 1980's and probably beyond..This film is so dear and so personal to me. I was seventeen when A fish called Wanda was released and watched it at my Cinema in Romford about three times..This fact is amazing g enough as in the mid to late 80's pirate copies was the norm. But I loved this film so much I see it three times at the pictures and bought a sell through video of it from a video shop(younger readers of this review please google "local video shop",and "sell through videos").

The film it's self still is as funny today as when I was seventeen and the scenes around London really take me back to a London of back then. The plot and pace of the movie jogs along well with plenty going on and what is going on is the excellent characters. Each role is so well written and acted with every actor bringing their best to their performance. In conclusion I would like all to watch "A fish called Wanda",as I'm sure watching it wouldn't disappoint..
