Really impressive tv show. Great acting and varied storylines. The action scenes are intense, original and gory as hell. Gareth Evans really knows how to do this. They are perfectly staged and even has some twists to them that you don't expect. Joe Cole shines together with the rest of the cast. If you like 'Banshee', you will love this! Highly recommended.

Cliffhanger (1993)

Memorable action movie

"Cliffhanger" has always been one of my favorite action movies since it came back in 1993. It holds up pretty well today. Reasons: the movie is as predictable as many other movies in the genre. But two things sets it apart: humor and villains. There are MANY cool one- liners in this movie and many fine villains, where John Lithgow hits bullseye with an downright evil performance so to speak. He simply is that: pure EVIL. He don't care for anyone. He don't have sympathy for anyone. Feelings are something he don't know. That's why he's so cool: he is completely over the top. Otherwise: OK acting(even by Stallone), spectacular scenery and action scenes. Photography is amazing. Story is weak, but the scenery makes up for it. But my praise for this movie goes to the villains. Simply great villains. Shame Hollywood don't make them like this anymore. Shame Renny Harlin has fallen like he has. Now he makes just crap. No "Cliffhanger"s anymore. If you should recover Renny: welcome back.

Extreme Prejudice (1987)

One of the coolest action movies of the 80s!

Yes, it is. I do not kidding. There aren't that much people that has heard of this little gem from master action director Walter Hill, but is is HIGHLY recommended. If you like John Woo's early Hong Kong efforts, you will LOVE this movie... It has a great story for an action western, and terrific actors: Michael Ironside, Powers Boothe, Rip Torn, William Forsythe and Clancy Brown. All some of the coolest actors ever committed to screen, if not in ONE movie. I was completely blown away by the scenes and the staging of them in this film, so I wonder why has so few heard of it? It's a shame, this one ranks alongside the most stylish films ever made. It's comparable to some of Hill's best movies: "The Long Riders, Trespass, The Warriors" etc. Nick Nolte is a god, and so is this movie. Don't let the rating fool you. For an action movie, this is a 10. Buy it, like me. And watch it on a widescreen with surround! Lovely.

Dirty (2005)

Not anything special...

This movie is a nice try at the corrupt cop genre, a genre that I like very much, with standout movies like "Training Day, Dark Blue and Narc". But when these mentioned were smart, well played and engaging, "Dirty" falls pretty short. It's a confusing movie, with mediocre directing and actors trying too hard to be hip and "gangsta". Both Clifton Collins Jr. and Cuba Gooding Jr. tries way too hard with the gangsta language and it often seems forced, and not to talk about the cursing, which are used EXTREMELY often. So often,in fact, that it almost goes over into parody. I understand that the street language are rough, but this movie was just over the top. The story are okay enough, but nothing special. You've seen it before and much better. The biggest problem is probably the script which leaves the actors very little to work with. A shame really, because this movie had potential. So in short, an okay effort. But it don't stuck in your mind for long.

Stander (2003)

Terrific movie, well done all the way!

This has to be one of the best "unknown" movies I have ever seen. Based on a true story "Stander" deliver the goods in all terms. The acting is great, the story is well told, and direction very good. You can actually sympathize with the movie's main character, Andre Stander who is played by Thomas Jane, to bravura effect! The movie is never an action movie, though the story allows it to be, but a highly suspenseful and engaging viewing. Why it wasn't released at the cinemas. I have no idea. But this movie needs your time and money, because it is that good. Really. It was refreshing to see a really well made movie from Hollywood, beneath all the crap that usually comes out... If you ask me, you should not rent this movie, you should, like me, BUY it!

Men at Work (1990)

Emilio+Charlie=Funny

This somehow forgotten movie is pretty funny by todays standard.Not that the comedies today are that smart really... Brothers Sheen has nice chemistry together and delivers many funny and memorable dialogues.A hoot is also Vietnam-vet Keith David,this guy is one bad dude...You've seen this before,but the script is not that bad and the movie moves along in a pleasant pace.The villains are also portrayed as idiots and the cops as smart asses,who will get what they deserve by time. This is easy entertainment and you don't remember it for that long,but it's a pleasant journey while it lasts-just don't think too much.

Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004)

Funny as hell

After director Danny Leiner's last movie "Dude Where's My Car" i certainly didn't have any high expectations for this one.But surprise! This movie is indeed very funny with the most likable(or unlikable) duo in a long time.The laughs are many and they come somewhat surprisingly sometimes.The script is smart enough with a load of funny one-liners,but it's the two actors who make it work.Both likes smoking pot and party,but they are still different from each other.Together to White Castle to get some tasty burgers they are getting in some seriously funny situations,with some unlikely characters.See for yourself;there are too many hilarious moments to be named here.If you like "Road Trip" or "American Pie" you WILL like it,though i think this one is better than both of them.By time this one will prove to be a CULT comedy.Enjoy.

Godsend (2004)

Not exactly engaging

"Godsend" is a huge misstep,from director and all involved.The story is original enough,but sadly,badly developed.The movie is not very interesting and there are many logical holes.But to say the least,the movie has a definitive lack of suspense.Acting is OK and De Niro is great,but it's just another failure for his otherwise great(former) career.It could have been good,but as with "Gothika",a similar movie in theme this one fails completely.You better watch "The Sixth Sense" instead if you're in for movies like these.Great actors wasted and along with a bad script.....it have to go wrong.When watching i was pretty much bored i must say.So,skip this one.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

I enjoyed it,fun as hell

Watched it yesterday,haven't seen the original,but think this one is damn good on its on terms. I was shocked.I laughed.I cheered.But I certainly did not fall asleep. Mr. Snyder has done a very good job with this film. I think its funny,scary,exciting and cool..very cool. There sure is a lot of gore,blood and disgusting scenes, but it's also very funny at times and not badly acted at all. However,the most remarkable thing about this movie,is that it manages to be suspenseful.Yes.You heard me.A splatter movie with suspense? Yes,indeed.And director Zack Snyder must get a lot of credit for that. It also has that kind of docu-feel filming to it,like last years "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE".And I think that's cool as s**t! So,grab your snacks and coke,relax and enjoy this crazy ride.And sit through the credits...the ending is a surprise one.

Well,what can I say? This is one great movie. I like these kind of movies(DARK BLUE,TRAINING DAY,NARC) and this one is no exception.Very good paced,strong performances and an interesting story line make this a winner. Fishburne is good,but I think Goldblum`s performance is terrific! It`s maybe a little over-the-top sometimes,but hey,who cares? It`s not often you see him this sleazy.... #SPOILER AHEAD# Some of the scenes are also a little over-the-top,especially the scene where Felix Barbosa smashes one guy with a pool stick, ouch! that was pretty hard to watch... But its an entertaining movie with lots of shooting and also good music(and I like rock),together with good performances and convincing bad guys. Don`t miss this one...

Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999)

Cool movie!

This is a really cool movie.I saw it yesterday and want to see it again. Actor Forest Whitaker is quite impressing in this movie.He has a calm atmosphere over him,he does not speak much,but those kind of roles are often the hardest ones.Rest of cast is well chosen. Many of the scenes is highly stylized(sort of John Woo,just lesser noise) and the dialogue is very funny at times.Especially Louie`s meeting with his bosses is a standout. Even the music`s good,by rap group RZA.It fits the personality and actions of Ghost Dog perfectly(his sword training on roof is a highlight). So,let me clear something.This is NOT for everyone.It is cool,stylish and funny.But,unfortunately,not very exciting. It`s a special movie,japanese samurai mixed with rap and mafia.What do we get with this? I don`t really know.It`s not in any genre. Just watch it,you`ll be rewarded.

This is a more interesting than usual porn movie, because it is a fantasy adventure.The production values are high and the acting is(believe it or not) pretty good,especially Jenna Jameson.It`s also in widescreen which helps,it gives a feeling of a real motion picture and NOT a porn movie.But,of course it is a porn and a really good one with nice costumes,fine atmosphere and scenery.And by the way,the sex IS hot.

Watch out for this one...

Escape from Sobibor (1987 TV Movie)

Exciting is the word...

..for this somehow little known WW2 movie.If you liked "The Great Escape" or "Schindler`s List" for ex.,you`ll love this movie.It`s just as realistic and well played as those two.Production is high and the setting is very...yes,realistic.There are several gruesome execution scenes in this movie and it will make you hate the Nazis to the bone.What sick people!! I almost covered my eyes several times,but a movie like this is very important information of what happened in the death camps. Arkin,Hauer and Joanne Pacula are all great in this terrific WW2 escape movie.If this movie had been an theatrical release and not a TV miniseries,it would have won several Oscars,no doubt.Watch it!(if you can find it).

One False Move (1991)

One great thriller!

If you want a tough and realistic thriller watch this one.Full of bloody action sequences(VERY graphic ones indeed) and a terrific bad guy played by Thornton,this movie deliver the goods.Exciting and very realistic.Very.After watching this movie I was happy,finally a great film noir without ANY of the typical Hollywood flaws.There`s not a better film noir than this.If you like this one I recommend "Devil In a Blue dress"(also Franklin),Red Rock West and The Last Seduction(both directed by John Dahl).By the way,the best film noir ever is "L.A Confidential".Okey,so One False Move is SECOND then.Enjoy!

Lorenzo's Oil (1992)

Really,really great!

Wow!,what a film.Based on a true story about little boy Lorenzo who gets an incurable disease called ALG.Parents never gives up to get a cure for the disease.And a cure there is,in form of an oil.This is an heartwarming,interesting and very important movie.Great performances all around.Especially Nick Nolte who did a great job with his italian accent.Definately one of his best performances. Sarandon and Ustinov are also great.Not to mention the little boy who played Lorenzo,fantastic. However this movie is not so well known.For us who have seen it,we all agree this is one outstanding movie,that sticks to your mind for a long time...

Collateral Damage (2002)

An Arnold movie is an Arnold movie,you know what you get.However,this one`s okey.Above average,a little-not much.Some fine performances John Turturro,John Leguizamo(very small roles indeed).Arnold is of course...Arnold.Direction is very good.Davis has made good movies before(The Fugitive,Under Siege),but that`s a long time ago.However,this is one of his better ones.Does I sound very positive now? Well,the movie isn`t exactly good,it`s stupid-but entertaining.It don`t stick in your mind for so long.It got more realistic that it ever intended to be(think of 11th of September).I`m very glad that they released it long time after that date.

Years worst!

This was one of 2001`s worst movies.Worse than "Glitter?" Okay then,second worst.Samuel L. Jackson IS a good actor,so the question is;what the hell is he doing in this badly directed crap? I don`t think it`s lack of money.It`s stupidity.Jackson fits to be drug man,a man who make and sells drugs.But Meat Loaf as a drug lord? No no no...he`s wildly miscast.Carlyle is a good actor,but he`s extremely annoying in this movie with all his focks! and bollocks! repeated during the entire film.Stupidest is the story which makes no sense(it`s not supposed to do either) and the miscast of some actors(Meat Loaf,Rhys Ifans etc.). Ending is unintentionally funny with Meat Loaf blowing up drinking some strange stuff.This movie gets the bottom rating from me(and I DO like action comedies).

This MTV style war movie wasn`t much to cheer for.Badly acted,way to noisy and too much bombastic music.Sadly,Hackman is wasted in a minor supporting role.Owen Wilson does NOT fit the action hero part,he`ll better stick to comedy like Zoolander,Meet the parents.Ending in this movie was way patriotic and overblown.Direction is somewhat irritating,with it`s MTV style filming.BEL may keep you entertained,but it`s forgotten very very fast.Skip this!

Tremors (1990)

A great piece of work!

I just felt that I had to review this movie,it`s one of my all time favorites.This is like "Jaws"(1975),but much funnier! It has good acting(Bacon and Ward,others),sharp dialogue,nice locations(Nevada),suspense,humor,romance and action.And direction is superb! What impresses me most with this monster flick is its special effects. They are VERY impressive,the giant worms looks almost 100% believable.And they`re just enough scary.I`ve just bought a copy of this on DVD,looking forward to see it again.This is a winner all around. So,if you haven`t seen it;move your ass to the videostore and rent it....I mean-BUY IT.

Murder by Numbers (2002)

...thriller with Sandra Bullock.I found this movie very little interesting.It`s not especially exciting,it lacks suspense and it`s too long.Main reason for why I found this movie boring is:You don`t really care for some of the persons involved.Many people on this site says that some of the things Sandra does makes little sense.I agree. And all this romantic bullshit,Sandra are so in for having sex with partner Ben Chaplin....uugh! It`s just for stretching the time.Sorry Bullock,you are not a great actress.You`re not convincing enough....and you are posing more than acting. Some positive things should come up-Ryan Gosling and Michael Pitt are pretty good.Not 100% convincing,but OK enough.They are the only interesting characters in this predictable BY THE NUMBERS thriller.Avoid this one,save your money...

Does anyone need ANOTHER adaption of Alexandre Dumas classic? The answer is of course-no.This one even has a bad director,Peter Hyams. Acting is not convincing,Chambers is wasted in the lead.So are pretty girl Mena Suvari.Tim Roth is good though(he`s always good),but overplays maybe a bit.Watch him as a much better villain in "Rob Roy". "The Musketeer" is boring,uninteresting and it has no story at all.It`s also very confusing storywise.It moves way too fast.Don`t trust the trailers on this one...

Southern Comfort (1981)

EXCITING THRILLER!

"Southern Comfort" is simply one of director Walter Hill`s finest movies(together with "48 HRS".)I love this movie.It had been a 10 year period(!) since I last watched it and yesterday I watched it again;It`s still VERY impressive.Okey,so maybe it`s a rip-off of Boorman`s "Deliverance",but I think it stands very well on its own! Good acting,especially Powers Boothe and Keith Carradine,but other actors also impresses during their somewhat short screen time... Southern Comfort is well directed,exciting,believable(I think so) and creepy(the swamps of Louisiana makes up for that).One point extra for Ry Cooders fine soundtrack;it`s perfect for the movie`s atmosphere! Is it more to say...just watch this!

Anything,Singles and Almost Famous" were all terrific movies...but this? I was really really disappointed.Crowe has tried to make an original movie,but it`s just plain bad.The plot is ridiculous.It was so hard to understand that I can`t remember anything of it.Cruise is good though,but it doesn`t help at all.And much of the dialogue is really stupid.Especially when Diaz says;"we had sex four times the other night and I swallowed your cum.It must mean something."-Talk about stupid dialogue...I must say that I was 100% bored during the movie,it didn`t give me ANYTHING.So,my 1 rating goes to "Vanilla Sky" directed by Cameron Crowe(SHAME!!!)

Jerry Zucker and his team has directed several funny movies.This is NOT one of them.Story is just plain silly,it doesn`t matter.It`s a comedy. But it`s so hysterical and unfunny sometimes that it`s hard to watch.The humor is not exactly clever.You`ve seen this before.I don`t think the acting was that good either.But hey! it sure is entertaining,but it had a weak ending.Okey,it`s a little above average. Let`s give it

The Glass House (2001)

Lack of suspense

This movie has somewhat lack of suspense.It`s supposed to be dark and scary with its cold glass house.Why did the filmmakers name the couple Glass? Very original,double meaning...NOT! This movie has so many logical failures it`s too many to name them.Acting isn`t good and story is boring,boring,boring.It gives you nothing.It`s so empty and the ending is weak.This movie is bad and boring.
