Boredom in Venice
10 November 2023
The haunting part is silly and not a central part of this lame whodunit. The visual effects with incessant thunder and lightning and torrential rains is vapid, the script is quite boring and the acting especially that of the doctor and child is embarrassingly amateurish and distracting . Poirot in the novels and most films arrive to his conclusions in a very methodical way, yet here it just does not make sense, did they accidentally edit out some important parts ? Not recommended for Agatha Christie fans , or for mystery fans , it was quite boring. Also, there isn't such a thing as a Halloween in Italy let alone in Venice where they have a much more elaborate and sophisticated Event called Carnivale so there was a lack of authenticity to add to other issues with this mediocre film .

There is no mystery here but the drama is ok somewhat !
26 August 2023
First two episodes are impressive , edge of your seat knowing something bad is going to happen, a poignant and very strong character driven mystery/drama ! By the end of the second episode a major twist. Episode 3 they start to expand on the POV of various characters which continues up to the episode before last and that is when I started to lose interest . Starting from episode 3 to 6 it became more of a soap opera drama with so many storylines that were put there to prolong the series and I got so bored and started to hit the forward button , too bad because it had potential. An ok drama but there are much better mystery/thriller shows out there !

Surprisngly very good modern slasher !
21 January 2023
It starts strong, the suspense begins from the first scene, and the slashing starts 10 minutes later with the victim's actions not as you'd expect (predictably stupid). Then we move into the main course: 2 friends fleeing the city to the countryside to run away from early Covid restrictions and headaches. They are joined by a boyfriend and the 3 experience a hellish night with many surprises and twists It's a prolonged fight for survival that is virtually devoid of your usual cheap jump scares, predictability and victims making stupid decisions, even though there were scattered stupid moves here and there. For slasher fans this is one of the best this decade.

Excruciatingly slow, despite the twist ending it's basically a boring drama.
18 November 2022
I watched "Dark" and loved it : Brainy, complicated, and required paying close attention . The characters were interesting with a compelling storyline and of course the twists and turns. This is no" Dark" simply because the storyline is awful, the characters are uninteresting and the drama just drags and drags , if you want to spend 8 hours watching a boring soap opera for a brilliant finale on episode 8 go ahead, yet even the ending left so many questions unanswered. I decided to watch it to the end because some of the reviewers who gave it a 10 were rebuking others who gave it a low score after just watching an episode or 2, so wanted to give it a chance, yet now I wish I were one of those who only watched an episode or 2 and stopped watching after that !

Bad despite the plethora of obviously fake reviews here ...
29 July 2022
This series is cheap , boring and badly written with seriously horrid special effects and clumsy editing. I am stunned with the amount of fake reviews here just click on those 10s and you will notice that it's their only review . Amazon is considering whether or not to renew this series due to bad reception by critics and audiences alike so it seems those involved in the production of this wreck are trying to offset that by sending blast notices to their friends to post positive reviews, shame on them !

Season 2 is an insult to the fans of this series.
27 April 2022
Season 2 ruined this creative , sharp, funny , cynical and very dark series for me , it was rushed and dull , ipso facto won't watch season 3 if there ever is one.

As a fan of Coben this is a huge let down !
6 January 2022
Mediocre plot that seemed more interested in twists and turns than in a cohesive storyline, the frequent injection of humor fell flat, certain characters were not at all necessary to the narrative not to mention were quite ridiculous, and what a waste of talent of some accomplished actors! Above all it was a boring , inept and insipid production.

Season 4 : Flesh & Blood . 2 thumbs down !
5 December 2021
Seasons 1,2 and 3 were very good and entertaining slasher/ whodunit , fast paced with good storylines, good acting and the expected slice and dice to please fans of the genre. Season 4 was boring, more of a soap opera with really awful acting and a vapid script , so different from the successful formula of the first 3 seasons . If there is ever a season 5 , I think I will not watch unless I read many reviews beforehand , what happened , what went wrong ?

A superior and intricate murder mystery series
6 October 2021
With only 6 episodes and fast pacing , this tightly told serial-killer thriller is easy to binge-watch. It held my attention from the very first scene to the very last with a lot of twists and turns as well as a well- crafted and interesting plot. One of the best that I have watched in this genre, highly recommended !

Season 4 : Flesh and Blood - is an unwatchable dysfunctional family drama and the worst Slasher season by far!
19 September 2021
I liked the first 3 seasons but season 4 is more of a boring soap opera than a good slasher , family members squabbling and yelling at each other with kills every now and then . I was so bored and distracted by the awful dialogue and slow pacing not to mention the bad acting by a couple of main characters , especially the eldest daughter and her wanna be campy performance which did't work here ,disappointing !

An interesting horror parody and hodgepodge of styles
12 September 2021
First two thirds is somewhat boring with embarrassingly bad acting by the main actress yet the hilariously outrageous last 30 minutes makes it worth a watch !

Series should have concluded after season one!
4 August 2021
Loved the spot-on satire in season 1 , it was a lot of fun! Season 2 was boring , 3 boring & depressing and after the ridiculous and vapid plot of season 4 I stopped watching altogether after a couple of episodes.

Mythology and crime in rural Iceland
11 April 2021
One of my favorite things about the increasing number of Icelandic shows shown in the US is the role the country's exotic and sometimes moonscape-like landscape is prominently featured. Everything about Iceland is unique. Compared to phenomenal series' like Trapped, or even The Valhalla Murders and Case, this is somewhat mediocre, basically the storyline is just not that intriguing, Even though season one is 4 episodes I felt it dragged and could have easily been concluded in 2 episodes , or maybe 3 tops.

Horror and exceptional thrills in the pilot episode, then .......
6 March 2021
Episode one is an hour and a half, excellent melange of horror genres as well as science fiction, not to mention an engaging storyline, mystery and interesting characters, they pulled all the stops to make this an incredibly captivating, unique and an exciting viewing experience for fans of the genre, then things changed in episode 2 and by episode 4 this series became unwatchable to me. Like watching completely different programs; a soap opera with cheesy acting, obnoxious characters that are supposed to be funny but are not (the mayor who keeps appearing shirtless for no reason at all lol) whose escapades with the town's veterinarian (who is portrayed as incessantly defensive and yells at every one) become a focus for some reason. There are subplots that relate to the primary focus of this production which in episode 4 become trite and a lecture of theological revisionism. I literally fell asleep by then and decided this is not for me. if I wanted to watch an intellectual soap opera there are plenty others that are way better.

Very good crime series
16 February 2021
I enjoyed watching this clever whodunit , it's a fast paced mystery that involves different plots and several storylines , which connect nicely at the end with engaging characters and great acting , you should watch the subtitled version and not the dubbed one. There are 12 episodes of 30 minutes each , I recommend it for murder/mystery fans !

Kemi and Olu .
14 February 2021
A refreshingly oddball comedy that gives a glimpse of hope to failing and unimaginative network TV . I love everything about Abishola and her peeps especially the laugh out loud Kemi , her best friend and omg aunt Olu , one of the funniest characters on TV! Bob's family though are awful, especially that annoying sister of his , I am glad that the show's focus is on the Abishola clan !

Not funny at all !
14 February 2021
Love Kyra but her lines are not funny, and her delivery is rather rushed and contrived , her two kids in the show are quite unlikeable and are portrayed as utterly disdainful and contemptuous of their mother , how is that funny ? The writing is unimaginative and quite bad and don't think it will last ! The best and funniest characters are the son's ditzy girlfriend and the daughter's gay roommate !

Notes on first 3 episodes, hilarious!
14 February 2021
Watched first 3 episodes so far and was pleasantly surprised, it's a really funny series, at times irreverently so, which I love ! Even though the main character gets the best lines and is actually phenomenal in his role, there are many other screwball, loony and eccentric characters that make this show refreshingly enjoyable and silly in a good and entertaining way. The only drawback so far is his assistant's storyline; I get it though and it has lovely potential, yet it's boooooring and does not quite sync with the show's premise....it should have been presented differently and in a way that compliments this series, hopefully this will be sorted out in future episodes.

Excellent first half hour then progressively and surpringly bad !
1 January 2021
A creepy build up with great acting and story line that draws you in then it loses momentum half way through and becomes trite, repetitive uninteresting and even ridiculous, even the main actress seems like she lost interest in acting and towards the end her facial expressions and attitude looked ambivalent lol! I would not recommend this !

An okay slasher/whodunit from Austria!
19 December 2020
Hundreds of European teens spend summer break partying on a small Croatian island, including a group of friends and classmates from am Austrian school, who are hunted down by a mysterious killer. Since the invention of cellphones you have to be quite creative to make a slasher film. This is where I have a problem with this movie, there were a few instances when the victims could have easily called or texted for help yet the reason for not doing so were quite lame . The movie was also a bit too talky. Yet, I think it was not that bad as there are dozens of horrible modern slashers out there, this one was engaging, with creative kills and not too bad acting!

A modern retro-slasher !
13 December 2020
The focus is on 5 campers and their counselor who hike for 2 days when they encounter deformed polish hillbillies . No cell phones and some get separated from the group . it's a struggle for survivor with a few good gory scenes . The acting is good, the tension is high, and the storyline is thrilling fast paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is also a parallel supernatural story of the hillbillies! Well made slasher that is reminiscent of those from the 80s , I highly recommend it for fans of the genre.

Good 1st part, then it falls apart!
11 December 2020
Regardless of the incessant baby crying sounds of the first part I thought it was good. That first part sets up a perfect supernatural horror story, with a captivating story line and excellent acting, then halfway through it becomes a repetitive jumbled mess, really ridiculous, and cheesy . Also seemed like they had budget limitations and it showed !

Boring, no horror and cheap special effects.
26 November 2020
A chain smoking Egyptian doctor falls in love again , and to his colorful family's chagrin , with his former Scottish university colleague as they explore an ancient Egyptian curse/ legend Which involves a ghost of a girl with laughable make up which brings them to the Libyan desert from which they embark on an Indiana Jones like adventure. The lead actor is super annoying , the lead actress cannot act with a permanently frozen facial expression, the storyline is excruciatingly slow and boring And has zero horror elements, it's basically a jumbled and incoherent mess , pass on this one !

Shokingly horrible acting, cheap production, laughable special efffects!
8 November 2020
Despite the bad reviews and low ratings I gave it a shot, what a mistake ! This is by far the worst "Ringu" ! The actors who played Julia, Holt and Skye were possibly some of the worst actors I've ever seen on film. In addition to the horrid acting the storyline and special effects were amateurish and laughable, and who edited this mess ? Really bad job !

Deliciously and fantastically entertaining, boo for closed-minded puritanical haters!
20 September 2020
She represents what we all think but do not dare to express openly. A no-nonsense character and a very funny and intelligent satire of a show. I binged watched all 30 minute 6 episodes , and loved it. Haters miss the point and sound like your usual insufferable U.S. bible belt types with issues. She is not supposed to be likeable, she is not supposed to be a role model, she is not supposed to be idolized ! One of the few real shows out there that is also quite entertaining and enormously funny, I had to keep rewinding to catch all the original and quick-witted antics!
