Clueless (1995)
A weird, nonsensical movie.
Initially, I thought I'd love this movie as much as how I loved others with blonde main characters. It turned out this movie is not even close because this is full of weird and nonsensical scenes.
This classic movie is about a dumb blonde who are probably in the worst class ever you can find because they are all dumb. However, as the show progress, we get to know that she's not as dumb as we thought she'd be because she was smart enough to use her charm to negotiate her grades into something undeserving of what she was initially given. Pretty privilege, I guess?
If there's not just some comedic, entertaining, and iconic dialogue, I felt like this movie wouldn't do much because it's missing an ACTUAL plot. Although it was already worse from the beginning, it became even worse when we get to know that Josh, STEP-BROTHER, and Cher ended up being in a relationship. What the heck?
Ella Enchanted (2004)
Classic, feel good movie.
This is a classic, feel good movie about Ella who was given a gift of obidience by a fairy named Lucinda. Basically, a people pleaser. There's so many references about Cinderella, which makes me question whether is this somewhat connected or not?
Anyways, Anne Hathaway is so pretty and gave so much for her character that even the CGI is hell in here, still, she gave justice in this movie. I love her singing voice and I will never forget that beautiful voice of hers.
Even though there's literally no chemistry between Prince Char, I'd give it to this movie since it's not that cheesy and cringey.
I loved how Ella have this brain and strength to not let other's (even her bitsy stepsisters) order her or such because if she's a little bit more kind, she might have took a while before she realized she's have to do something about her gift.
Basically, the moral of this movie is that nobody should be forced to do things they don't wanna do. We all have our own dreams to achieve, and as we go on, there's lots of things we have to prove.
Midsommar (2019)
Midsommar is a film full of high characters.
Midsommar is a mesmerizing yet disturbing film that takes its audience on a lengthy journey lasting over 2 hours. Directed by Ari Aster, this horror film showcases a series of unsettling scenes as the characters navigate the unnerving events unfolding around them, making you constantly question yourself whether everything that is happening in the film is real or everyone's just high on drugs.
The movie delves into the complex dynamics of a deteriorating relationship, with Christian being the absolute worst boyfriend that could ever exist while Dani having personal issues that hunts her every now and then. It becomes evident that Dani's efforts to salvage their relationship are in stark contrast to Christian's desire to escape. His true motivation for going to Sweden appears to be a means of distancing himself from their troubled relationship.
This film effectively juxtaposes an aesthetically pleasing visual landscape with the terrifying depths that lie beneath. The movie presents itself as a fresh and invigorating experience, while simultaneously revealing the hidden horrors within the seemingly idyllic setting of a Swedish commune.
Florence Pugh delivers an exceptional performance as Dani, skillfully portraying her complex range of emotions and the overall essence of her character. It is disheartening to witness Dani's struggle to process her feelings in a healthy manner, as she is surrounded by individuals who manipulate and gaslight her, convincing her that her emotions are a result of her family's tragic past rather than the eerie customs of the commune.
At its core, Midsommar is a gore-infused movie masked by its visually pleasing scenery. The film explores the belief held by the commune that life follows a cyclical pattern, which ends at the age of 72 or, as the lady explains, when they "end their Harga." This concept adds an unsettling layer to the narrative, heightening the tension and fear experienced by the characters.
Midsommar is a haunting and thought-provoking film that explores themes of manipulation, toxic relationships, and the dark underbelly of seemingly peaceful communities. It challenges viewers with its disturbing imagery, but also enthralls them with its stunning visuals. If you're prepared for a psychological journey that blurs the line between beauty and horror, Midsommar is a must-see film.
Insidious: The Red Door (2023)
One of the best in all of its franchise.
I loved how this show tried to remain true with its legitimate casts and story. It's been years since we've last seen the Lambert family, and now they're having family issues which makes me think the writer have the similar issues or that they just wanted to touch the reality the country is currently facing.
It's been long and they tried their best to stop themselves, but the more they resists, the more it persists. Dalton and Josh's keep having those visions, which is why the efforts they've exerted were kinda put into waste. I love how this movie completely put an end to the whole franchise and didn't left us with so much hangers (which they've always been doing from the last movies).
I love how they tried to put some comedies in here to kinda lighten the mood and I commed Sinclair with this one. Although the plot is over the place, still, it's one of the best in all of its franchise.
Also, I really love Lin Shaye which is why I'm so happy to see her in here!
Insidious (2010)
Josh is coward.
I don't know if I am being biased, but that's how I will rate it because it is kinda interesting and not boring (which is somewhat surprising because most horror movies I've watched have this common culture which makes me wanna sleep good instead having nightmares). Renai have a very beautiful voice and Josh looks hot. I love that even if this is horror, it doesn't rely heavily on jumpscares, instead they focused on how they can make the story progress without having to info dump.
At first, I was kinda angry with Josh since he looks and acts like a coward (me for real) but then it does have to do with his childhood past which I've guessed already since his mother DOES looks hella suspicious. The storyline is great and the acting too, just that Dalton's eyes are moving when he's sleeping. Kinda painful to watch.
The spiritual characters are scary, makes me scared and terrified to even try the astral projection even though I am kinda interested when I was young (thankfully i didn't).
A great watch, and did left me wanting more. Will definitely be watching the 2nd installment!
Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)
Good and cohesively written
Okay, I think it's quiet good and cohesively written. Love how the story connects with each scenes and I love how natural they wanted to portray this movie by having hand held camera shots. It was hella shaky, in a good possible way.
The irritation I have for Josh is still there, even though I knew his body was being housed by some kind of soul. He's such a coward and I hate him for that. I don't know if I was the only confused because the other scene it says the Parker Crane was the kíller and the bride in black looks like his mother, but well it was definitely Parker Crane with his maternal issues.
I just love Elise and I hope I'll see her again in the next movie!
Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015)
Boring as hell.
Kinda wrecked the old movie installment with this one. I hate this so much because it is somewhat not really connected to the Lambert family, only surrounded by Elise and how she met the two ghostbusters. Well, I guess it is the prequel that made this one but it should have focused more with Allison since it was the cliffhanger on the Insidious Chapter 2 and not with Quinn who we didn't really know at all.
I would love to emphasize how they tried to insert Elise because they know that she's the only one who's actually keeping this movie. However, even tho I love Elise, this is just too much to watch. Boring and not that really interesting. Took me over 3 hrs to finish this show. Bye.
The Nun (2018)
Okay, this movie was really hard to watch.
But definitely in a very good way. This movie had so much jumpscares that does make sense in a way it isn't terrifyingly terrible.
I love how they have built a solid story line and plot without me having to watch other movie part of this because I literally forgot already about The Conjuring 1.
Anyways, I love this movie although the first part wasn't really giving.
The ending is kinda brief and there was not much thrilling and interesting after Sister Irene was tryna pray with the other nuns only to realize it was her vision. Just love it if they tried to make it more difficult towards the end so that it didn't feel like it was rushed and left me unsatisfied.
