The Covenant (2023)
The first bad review?
Had to scroll through heaps of reviews to still not find a negative one. My take: The first half of the movie is bad thirteen in a dozen action propaganda. Shaky quick shots that give no sense of space or direction. Nothing wrong with quick action but scenes just feel hasty, as an average collage of action sequences. Bad military decisions, also in close combat. No leads or mystery about how they are found, taliban presented as dumb people who just throw bodies at them. Even the emotional moments hardly come through. The second half is much better, but still is a cliche. It's almost as if Guy Ritchie tried to make a statement on US military betrayal of their allies, but stopped halfway because some general paid him to be soft on the military machine. Somewhere between 5-6 out of 10.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Indiana Cringe
Good lawd almighty i couldn't even get through the first 20 minutes. I rated 700 titles so had my share of bad ones. This wasn't necessarily the worst but it's so predictable and cliche it's supercringe. Now i have to write some 350 more characters in order to fill the requirement of this review, but it's still a better story than this movie. 2,5 hours oh dear...

The Man from Earth (2007)
A massive, beautiful surprise
First I was like dafudge did I start to watch, then I was like wait... oh interesting... oh wow... oh pew pew pew neurons firing unexpectedly into time and space.
Didn't hear of this movie before and I've watched quite a few. Definitely a great watch if you're open to philosophy, psychology, spirituality and especially if you are not stuck into concepts of god/infinity. This movie presents a very creative way to look at concepts.
Now I've got characters to fill in this review without spoiling. Which is unfortunate because this movie speaks for itself eventually. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Worth a watch for sure.
8,5/10 so a 9 just for the surprise factor.
Resident Alien (2021)
Great mix of humor, suspense and emotion
Edit: My review is based on season 1. Season 2 was very meager imo.
I laughed out loud pretty much every episode, there's suspense, there's funny moments, emotional moments, and even a little bit of human philosophy. All over great acting, with a few actors really standing out. Wonderful find!
Fauda (2015)
Really good, somewhat of a hidden gem
Very skillful made show with a 'realistic' feel to it, more than enough action and suspense and sneaky twists. Does a very great job at provoking the tendency to choose sides while making that difficult continuously. 8.5/10
The Shack (2017)
Wonderful movie, rated at least a full star too low
So, I've rated around 725 titles by now, including series, movies and documentaries. I usually don't watch movies rated below 7. This movie however is rated AT LEAST a full star too low, but more like 1,5-2 stars too low. If you go beyond any imagery of the spiritual, and accept that this is one of many ways to see it, you will be in for a journey of shock, awe and admiration. As a matter of fact, this movie can help you in your life, if you are open to it. It has mystery, forgiveness, pure love, desire, tension, curiosity... It deserves a wider public, and I think very few open minded people would rate this movie low. At least an 8 for me.
The Porter: The Untold Story at Everest (2020)
I watched this as if it were an award winning documentary
And it should be. Wow, this was amazing in so many ways. Thanks a lot for making this, and sharing it with us for free. I will make a full review some day. 10 out of 10 for me, worth every second, I didn't want it to end... P.S. the trailer and headers do not do this documentary any justice.
