VH1 Divas Las Vegas (2002)
Amazing, but not Excelent!
The first I heard that all these Divas were going to be together my heart started to pound so fast that it almost jumped out of my mouth. Thank God that didn't happen because it would be worth it. The best Diva of them all was without any doubt Ellen DeGeneres, who was hilarious and...absolutely amazing. This woman has a capacity to put a happy smile in your face unlike lots of other people. She managed to keep funny and new throughout the whole show. For me, she stole the show. The second biggest Diva of the night was Celine Dion, which with her magnificent voice blew me away. This singer doesn't need vocal effects, play back, vocoder or whatever...she's got it all what it takes to rock an audience with a great performance. This was exacly what she did. The highlight of the show, for me was...Cher. But not her Song for The Lonely or Believe not even Turn Back Time performance. Her best performance of the night was when she came out dressed as Elvis with a voice that gave me butterflies...inside. She was beautiful, funny, incredible and totally DIVA! But Cher wasn't all that great, her Believe performance, as far as I'm concerned was a total disappointment in that, she only sang parts of it live, and for a woman who's been singing since she was 16, it's a real embarrassment. Also, her voice sounded awful during (This is) The Song For The Lonely and the back-up singers ruined a part of the performance. Cyndi Lauper was spectacular...she was so cool. It should have been Cyndi Lauper with Cher, not Cher with Cyndi Lauper. Because, I thought her performance on Turn Back Time was much better than Cher's and also because Cyndi is 100% DIVA. The rest of the Divas, were ok for me, nevertheless, I'm not a big fan of them. Indeed a show you have to watch, but seriously, i was hoping it could have been better. Thank you!
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
The Force Will Be With Us...ALWAYS!
When I first say the trailer for Star Wars Episode II, I said to myself "I can't believe this will be a Funny Girl meets Independence Day". Although I loved each of these films I hated the idea of turning Star Wars into a romance with a little bit of action. But this trailer is by far one of the bests I've ever seen. It shows nothing on it. It doesn't let us know what the movie is about, it doesn't let us know anything about the characters...anything. Not like the trailer of AMERICAN PIE II where you can see the whole movie in 1minute and 35 seconds. With this I mean that the movie was a total surprise for me. Not only i loved it but it was also very emotional for me...watching Amidala hugging Anakin...and the music swells, and...I think this movie was made with "The" Star Wars magic, unlike EPISODE I, which was quite boring and quite intensive...4 wars at the same time...give the Force a break. With Episode II, Star Wars rise again, with great classic touches from the original episodes, to great new adventures and a great script in my opinion. I can't deny however how sad it was, for me at least. I think the best performance on the movie is Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, played by Ian McDiarmid. What I liked the most about the film is the scenes, moments, places and language that made me remind of the old movies. It was the greatest Dejá vu moment i have ever had in the silver screen. It was indeed an amazing movie. Now I know, the force will be with us...ALWAYS!
Crossroads (2002)
Madonna next to Britney Spears is Cher!
The only reason why I'm spending my time commenting this movie is to warn everybody and to just tell you this message: AVOID IT! Crossroads is just a long commercial promoting Pepsi, and one big, long, boring, childish, stupid Spears video clip. It's not worth a single penny. Madonna next to Britney Spears is Cher! Crossroads makes Who's That Girl (Madonna) look good! >
Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration (2001)
King of Pop, Rock, Soul and Entertainment!
Elizabeth Taylor and Oprah Winfrey are right indeed! Michael Jackson is the true King of Pop, Rock and Soul and King of the Entertainment! This show is the living proof that after 30 years this man still got what it takes to drive an audience wild! He dances as good as he did 10 years ago, he sounds better than he did 10 years ago, he dresses better than 10 years ago! HE'S WITHOUT ANY DOUBT UNBREAKABLE! This concert is absolutely AMAZING! Michael at his best after years without performing, and all the artists are also great! But the highlight is really watching Michael Jackson emerge from the floor to perform after all these years! HE'S JUST THE BEST PERFORMER THAT EVER LIVED! BUY INVINCIBLE AND BUY THIS DVD WHEN IT COMES OUT!
HE'S INVINCIBLE!
