FBI: Fathers and Sons (2021)
Dumb
If the bad guy had the money for an under the table operation then there was no reason to kidnap anyone. His constant whining that doctors wouldn't help him because he doesn't have insurance is dumb. Doctors would much rather negotiate pricing with a patient without the interference of insurance.
Jeremy sisto was great though.
Quantico (2015)
Progressively worse
I admit I really liked watching it when it first aired.
I like priyanka. And the twins. And the actress that plays shelby.
I started watching it again. I think season 1 and the first half of season 2 hold up in terms of decent plot, decent twists, and not unbearably dumb. But the second half of season 2. Talk about jumping the shark. I mean the whole idea of a secret cabal is just so QAnon. And yet the writers, being from LA, are obviously liberal Democrats. They made the bad guy a republican and the characters constantly belittle republicans and only view them as islamiphobes. Way to contribute to the already depressingly wide partisan divide of this nation. They also are decrying a constitutional convention of the states as the worst thing in the world, saying it will destroy the nation. Obviously the writers don't really know anything about it. And I mean there are so many liberals who hate our constitution anyway bc it's racist, you would think they would want to rewrite.
I don't know if I want to keep watching. I probably will because I remember Priya and booth live happily ever after and I want to see that again.
The Little Things (2021)
European ending
This movie has what I call a "european ending" which means that in the end not everything is tied up into a perfect little bow. There are loose ends and questions left hanging.
If you like ambiguous endings this is for you.
If you need answers in a "I like to play clue" way this could be for you as long as you're okay with continuing think about the movie and trying to solve it.
If you like happy or conclusive endings this is not for you, go watch wonder woman 1984. Or in March, godzilla vs kong.
Roswell, New Mexico: American Woman (2020)
Politics suck
I watch Roswell because of the old tv show. And I'm a sucker for CW teen angst.
But seriously stop pushing a political agenda down our throats. I have no pity for people who break the law.
Grey's Anatomy: What I Did For Love (2019)
Only watching for station 19 stuff
Ugh. I hate Hollywood writers
"Oh my family got separated at the border as we BROKE THE LAW to enter this country. Boo hoo." Stop pushing a liberal agenda trying to make the viewer feel bad for criminals.
Otherwise. I liked the station 19 drama.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Part 33 (2019)
4 angry detective witnesses
While the detectives wait downstairs to be called up testify, their bickering just reminds me of 12 angry men.
the Bensen and Rollins were arguing I pretty much tuned it out. Also, I was confused by Bensen's pseudo confession of being raped and Rollins bringing up Lewis.
The crime in the episode is about a woman who was emotionally abused and murdered her husband. Kinda reminds me of Criminal Minds S3 E18 when Hotchner and Rossi interview an emotionally abused woman murdered her husband.
Overall, a really boring episode of arguments over moralty.
Supergirl: Suspicious Minds (2019)
Not bad
I think my biggest issue with the episode of something that has been building throughout the season. Col. Haley. I know we're supposed to hate her. What bugs me though is that the DEO doesn't seem to be part of the military. It's more like the CIA. So why would a Colonel have power over the director? It's just one of those things that doesn't make sense to me and really bothers me and makes me find a show about aliens even more unrealistic.
Chicago Med: All the Lonely People (2019)
Hippocratic Oath much?
Do nurses take the Hippocratic Oath? Because April sure doesn't act like it. She got grazed by a bullet. And of course she acts like a c u next Tuesday to Choi because he's being a doctor to the guy who shot her! I mean, I understand that she's upset, totally get that. But Choi can't not save the dudes life.
Dude who shot April is an incel and angry about not having sex. It seems kinda done before, probably because Law and Order SVU did an episode.
Another annoying part was when Natalie freaked out on Will for having a gun. I really hate when sceenwriters push an agenda.
However, I did like Oliver Platt and his student dealing with depression. And even the blonde nurse talking about it. Oh and I liked Natalie bonding with the guy whose wife died, very sad.
Arrow: Unmasked (2018)
Gun agenda
I don't like Hollywood screenwriters pushing political agenda. This time about guns. Oliver freaked out that Felicity had a gun and was willing to use it to protect herself. He literally kills people with arrows. But guns are somehow worse?
Granted she admitted to getting the gun illegally, which is dumb.
Bull: Separation (2018)
Tired
Tired of screenwriters in Hollywood pushing an agenda about immigration by trying to make us feel bad about a heart doctor when the majority of "immigrants" are unskilled laborers not doctors.
Legends of Tomorrow (2016)
Stick it out for Season 2
I love this show. It's so silly. I love time travel. However season 1 isn't my favorite, even if Wentworth Miller is a regular cast member.
I think Season 2 is better when they add Nick Zano as resident historian and pop culture lover. He's probably my favorite part of the show. (I might be biased bc I'm a historian too). Anyway, season 2 also gets rid of Hawk Girl in favor of the more interesting Amaya.
So stick it out for Season 2.
Supergirl: Ahimsa (2018)
Why?
Its an okay episode. But I don't understand why a military leader would be assigned over the director of a government agency. The director would report to the secretary of probably dhs. So.... Why the intermediary? I suppose they said it in the episode. But whatever reason, it's still dumb. And doesn't make sense. And really takes me out of the episode.
Take Two (2018)
Cute, silly fluff
I do love Rachel Bilson and Eddie Cibrian. And they have a lot of chemistry in this show. And yes it's a completely ridiculous set up but I still love it. It's lighthearted which is what I need sometimes. And I love the relationship between the two. They grow and change together. I really hope it gets a season 2.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Zero Tolerance (2018)
Sob story
Another sob story by NBC writers about immigration. Wow, I think the writers have an agenda and it's tiring.
Chicago Med: Heavy Is the Head (2018)
Self righteous
April's character is becoming a self-righteous b word and it's really annoying. The dude kidnapped his son, don't be a b word because Ethan's doing the right thing calling the cops.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Remember Me Too (2018)
Benson is ALWAYS right
I looooove SVU but ever since Benson has been LT, her character is off the rails annoying with her self-righteous morality. She's always right when it comes everything. Lourdes freaking killed someone. She deserves to go trial. I feel that Benson's obnoxious self-righteousness is ruining this show and watching her berate ADA Stone about morality and the law just makes me want to stop watching this.
oh god. don't get me started on the sob story of illegal immigrants. Lourdes complains about having be smuggled into the states and raped while her rapist was brought over as a baby and then pardoned through DACA. I don't care what your politics are but I want to watch a show about sex crimes and crazy stuff, not be preached to about the morality of our immigration system.
Also, if she's LT, the leader of the unit why is always in the field? Cragen was hardly ever out in the field.
Limitless (2015)
Pretty Good
I did not like the movie Limitless. I initially wasn't even going to watch the TV show because I thought the idea of basing a show a terrible movie was going to be dumb. However, I saw that Jake McDorman was in it and I really like him. Also, I really like Jennifer Carpenter. So I gave the show a shot. Sure, it be just another crime-solving-genius-cop-drama, but I still think it's fairly unique. But then again I'm kind of a crime-drama junkie so I tend to like these kinds of shows anyway, for the most part. Jake's character, Brian, is rather funny, especially when he imagines cool stuff about the FBI. Another thing about the show that I like is there is a continuous background story line involving Bradley Cooper's character and a conspiracy which is rather intriguing to me.
Long story short, this is definitely one of the better new TV shows out there. I think you should give it a shot. Try to watch the first two episodes before giving up on it.
Kristy (2014)
Rather mediocre
First, I just want to point out that while I like to watch horror and thriller films, I haven't seen every single horror film out there, so I didn't think it was that much of a rip off of other films. However, I do feel that most films like this film are similar anyway. There was one scene that I felt was a complete ripoff of another film: the scene where she was in the kitchen. Did the screenwriter never see Jurassic Park? Are the bad guys velociraptors, easily distracted by noise and not intelligent enough to know better?
As for the scare factor: it made me jump a couple of times but I'm not terrified to turn the light off. I equate it to the Halloween or Jason films, which I don't find scary at all.
There were a couple of things that I thought were dumb. Like what was with those stupid aluminum foil masks? It's not a very strong material so I just don't understand how they stayed in one piece on their faces the entire time. Also, I just don't get the Kristy thing. I mean, I get that they're a weird online cult that hates pretty girls so they kill them. I just don't get the random violence, but then I've never seen the Strangers or the Purge precisely because I don't get the appeal. Maybe I watch too many cop dramas Criminal Minds where everything is usually tied up in a nice bow at the end really explaining the psychopathy of the bad guys.
Overall, if you're bored and you can watch this movie, it's not exactly the biggest waste of time as there are worse movies out there.
CSI: Cyber (2015)
Why? Why did CBS do this to us?
I was the opposite of excited when I saw that they were making a new CSI. However, I decided to give it a try mainly because James Van Der Beek is in it. He's the only reason this show got a 2 instead of 1. This was pretty bad. Patricia Arquette's acting was beyond awful. I'm not really a fan of hers but she played a better hooker in Law & Order SVU than she acted in this show.
The techs (Charley Koontz, Hayley Kiyoko, and Shad Moss) were just blah. Their characters were meant to be unique but they fell flat. Also, way too much hi-tech BS such as the autopsy hologram. It's so unrealistic and just makes the show seem like it's trying too hard to be cool.
Spoiler: The "climax" scene of the pilot was so dumb and unrealistic. Why didn't the cops go into the water to save the baby? They waited for the Beek and Patricia Arquette? That scene was just bad. Bad writing. And just dumb. Like really? You're gonna write that the car goes flying into a body of water and the car is going to fill up with water and someone is going to be able to dive into the water, break open the window, pull the baby, the baby's going to get CPR and live? I suppose they were striving for a tense situation but it was just dumb.
This pilot should seriously be the only episode of this show to air.
Apartment 1303 3D (2012)
Just Awful
I'm so confused to as why Mischa Barton is an actress. She was stilted and awkward. The girl that played her sister was just as terrible. Rebecca De Mornay was off as well (spoiler: her death scene was dumb). Corey Sevier wasn't bad in comparison to the rest, but it doesn't help that he's pretty good looking in my opinion. The little girl was creepy only because little girls are creepy. Another problem I had with the film was the super. He was definitely pervey. But why didn't Janet or Lara call the building owner or cops to complain? It wasn't scary at all which was probably the biggest disappointment. I think I could handle the bad acting if I had actually been scared.
The Playboy Club (2011)
Loved it!
I honestly loved it. I love Amber Heard, the main girl. She's one of my favorite up and coming actresses. I thought Eddie Cibrian was amazing too. David Krumhotlz portrayed the uptight jerk of a manager pretty well. There was a murder (accidental)before the first commercial break! There's a lot of drama. I think it's definitely more geared to women surprisingly. I don't think my husband would like it. It's mostly the life of the bunnies, which would appeal more to women. I don't know. I don't think you should watch it or not watch it based on someone else's review. If you want to watch, watch it and find out for yourself if it's your kind of show.
