Christopher Nolan Would Be Impressed (If/When He Sees his)
23 September 2023
This one is NOT a cookie-cutter film.

After decades of watching films ... reading scripts ... went into this one with zilch expectations. Yet, I slowly developed an interest as to WHERE Kelly's journey was taking me. Gotta admit I may not have been so surprised ... AND pleased ... by a Film Ending since #TheSixthSense1999. For those who were less than impressed ... I will give you some STRONGER Actors across-the-board might have helped Entertainment-wise (#BiggerNames for some of you who are so led) ... but the STORY ... the SCRIPT ... it was all there. In that ... I NEVER lost interest.

"6" for Story ... "7" for that Ending.

Tom Wopat ... NEVER Been Better!
23 May 2023
For folks who like Tom Selleck in the #JesseStone movie series .... this #CountyLine series is right up there in quality. I only wonder why it took 5 yrs to get a sequel (or 2) from the Original COUNTY LINE (2017) and certainly hope there are more offerings coming beyond these two in 2022. Much like Longmire + Jesse Stone ... and in a locale betwixt those two, Wopat's Sheriff Alden Rockwell is as relatable a character as a moviegoer could want for this genre. Patricia Richardson makes a terrific Female Frend+Foil. Jeff Fahey was a perfect #WarBuddy. Wopat deserves to be seen in many more projects across much broader contexts. He truly fits the "Aged like a fine wine." characterization.

Quirky + #OutsideTheBox
8 April 2023
Yeah ... this movie is NOT award-worthy fare ... BUT ... there are cute moments in this QUIRKY-infested sort'a rom-com ... that hits on some not-often-covered relationship snafus people encounter ... but most don't talk about. The female-trio is almost high-schooli'ish (why ARE these women *friends*!?!). Matt Merchant delivers a very complicated performance of a clearly very complicated person. Michelle was the MOST normal persona + wrote+sang a decent closing song. You will neither harm nor exercise your brain with this one ... but it is definitely worth the time if you're in for some exceedingly light fare. As the credits show - this one got by with a lotta help from the writer/director's family+friends.

Family Drama + Police Drama = Messy Drama
9 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Were the teens - as written - kind'a a mess?

Were the criminal-brother-in-jail + sister-in-law-addict ... sort'a a mess?

Both a resounding *yes*.

Yet ... this uniquely-written 10-epiisodic - not to to mention the viewers - deserved a BETTER wrap-up than the network provided. Either make Ep-10 a 2-hr Series-Ender ... or give it a full 12-Episodes.

Network were putzes to have left it hanging as it did. Detective McLean ... the ENTIRE McLean family ... deserved so much better. The moral to the story - the message you sent: BEing + DOing like a #GoodGuy ... is not gonna make for a #HappyEnding ... or even a #ReasonableEnding ... no matter how hard you work + how much you sacrifice.

Tell that to UKRAINE..
