For an hour and 20 minutes this was a very good movie. Unfortunately the movie is an hour and 35 minutes long. The acting was very strong, the plot kept you wondering what was really going on, and you really wanted to see where this movie was going. Unfortunately, that's when Hollywood got their hands on it and made it a "happily ever after" movie. The last 15 minutes you just wanted to yell at someone because you were completely ripped off. I will not give away any of the plot or twists but the writer/director should have stood by his guns and given this gritty suspense thriller the ending it really deserved. It is so sad that in todays world, movies have to, so many times, fall back onto an old formula that says there are no bad things in the world and everyone lives happily ever after.

what was this all about?

I just watched this movie. It was sent to me by a supposed friend. I think I want the last 1:40 of my life back. Did this guy(Rune Bendixen), the "Writer/Director" go to some cross between a Robert Rodriguez-David Lynch Film School? How many different plots can you put into one "Modern Western"? And just because something is set in Mexico, does that make it a western? Some people probably shouldn't listen to there egos so much and make a movie more than 6 people in the world can understand. I think there was a great idea for a movie, but somewhere along the way something went VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY WRONG! Watch this movie if you are really in the mood to talk to your TV asking the question HUH?

This movie could be described in 2 words. "Sophomoric" and "Hysterical", I know this isn't Shakespeare but it isn't supposed to be. The characters are a laugh riot. I've watched it several times just do I could hear the lines I missed because I was laughing too loud. The character of "Tinker" is great. If you just want to enjoy yourselves and get away from your daily grind go find this movie, and enjoy.

Just watched this movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is by far Campbell Scott's best work. All of the characters were very well written and also well acted. The youngster Jesse Eisenberg is a delight to watch on the screen as you can actually see him being included in the scenes without him having to say a word sometimes. His wide eyed innocence is brought to the screen with utter ease. It was just plain fun to watch. Jennifer Beals and Elisabeth Berkley were also very fun to watch on screen. All in all I give this movie 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

I just watched a screener copy of this movie. I was thoroughly entertained. The plot was very sharp, and for a Stalone movie the acting was better than average. The movie was filled with actors that enjoy acting. Maybe the best part of the movie was just when you think you have the plot figured out there is a complete change of direction. I think that helped keep my attention. I actually got interested in the charactors and really wanted to figure out who the bad guy was. I could recommend, with a clear conscience, this movie to anyone.
