Expend4bles (2023)

What an action feast!
22 September 2023
SLY is back! I was wondering if Stallone would be playing a major role in the movie or not, since there were talks of Sly passing the main lead to Statham. But how can you keep Sylvester Stallone away, he is back with a bang. His screen presence is still untouched. He easily surpassed others of his age and at 77 years of age, still kicking still punching. The plot was better than the last 3 Expendable movies and the character evolution were decent too. Great to Megan Fox here. Statham played his part well. Considering Sly's international appeal, it will be a Box Office hit internationally and will do good in the US.

Great sports documentary, teaches a lot about life
23 May 2023
Everyone makes mistakes, if anyone says no it would be a plain lie. Boris Becker was the most popular Tennis player and arguably the most popular sportsman in the world at a time in late 80s. His craze was extraordinary and talent unbelievable. He inspired countless future champions to take up Tennis as a profession, his story was made for a super dramatic movie. The best part of the documentary is that it doesn't try to glorify Becker, it doesn't want to prove Becker a great guy with no faults of his own. It takes both the negatives and positives in consideration and sew everything into a great story being told. It may inspire you, make you learn about what not to do and what to do, it surely can entertain you. It is surely one of the greatest documentaries and human stories ever told.

Great performance by Cengiz Coskun
6 January 2023
Cengiz Coskun as Alp Arslan is the perfect choice to play the lead role. His personality, voice and the whole persona does justice to the role he was offered. The cinematography and effects were amazing and top notch. However, the editing wasn't too good, there were some scenes which could have easily avoided and there should have been more effort by the makers on showing how they strategize the war. Anyway, the movie has heart and the choice of actors is definitely great. The actress portraying the queen is stunningly beautiful and acted amazingly well. Her screen presence was great. The actor who played Diogenes was perfect for the role. Overall, a great watch and a gruesome war movie which could have been perfect.

Amazingly outstanding
4 January 2023
Mission Kashmir is definitely different, not everyone's cup of tea. People without imagination and one dimensional thinkers with their own agenda like bhakts would not appreciate it as a piece of art. The cinematography is amazing, certainly the best I have ever seen in an Indian movie. The climax is one of the best shot in the history of cinema, anywhere in the world. The fight sequence at the end with the shikara and Dal lake setting is surely a masterpiece. A very important scene which runs for about 2 seconds is the lotus submerging in the water, it symbolizes the fall of Kashmir which once was a heaven for some. Definitely a great movie.

One of the greatest ever
4 January 2023
This definitely is one of the my favorite animated films of all time due to the sheer fact that it blew me away like very few forms of art have ever done. This is not just one of the greatest animated films ever but one of the greatest films in history. It was released at the perfect time in 1939 when the world was about to witness the most gruesome war ever recorded. Intelligent, and thoughtful, smartly done animated short film about a post-apocalyptic world where there are no humans, just animals. The message of the film is brilliant and is portrayed in an equally brilliant manner. One of my best memories of childhood for sure.

Intense yet funny
3 January 2023
I happened to get my eyes on it while searching for some Covid-19 information on the internet, must say that I was lucky to find it. There's not a single word spoken in the entire short film yet the whole idea is presented in a wonderfully funny and interesting manner. I am a former Chess school champion and was pretty amazed by what the director was thinking and how he bridged the game to the global situation. 10 minutes is just the amount of time you need, definitely worth a watch and I highly recommend this little wonder to any open minded viewer looking for an off-beat animated film. The stop-motion is not 100% stop-motion, it's smartly mixed with 2D to give a 3D atmosphere that surely is the highlight of the film.

Rambo III (1988)

A masterpiece for what it is
3 January 2023
Come on, this movies wasn't made to win Oscar for best drama. The movie should be appreciated for what it is, it is an explosive action movie and it does best in unleashing the beast that Rambo was. Brilliant cinematography, amazing desert setting. Do you see this kind of setting with the coolest war weapons of the time. One-dimensional minds don't like Rambo III for the sole reason that they are so deeply stuck in their own definition of movie making that they don't appreciate an over the top action movie for what it is. The movie deserves a higher rating for sure. One of the best villains and an iconic war scene always get the fans pumped up.
