Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015)
Thank You! A Must See!
All I can say is Thank You!!! This is what I want to see when I go to the movies looking to enjoy a good summer blockbuster!!! Man, talk about a fun ride. It was humorous, exciting, thrilling, suspenseful, and well worth the price of admission.
Tom Cruise really gets it when it comes to entertaining your average moviegoer and he doesn't disappoint. But the truth is, no one disappoints in this summer flick. All parties brought their 'A' game and played their part perfectly. The female lead (Rebecca Ferguson) really held her own alongside Ethan Hunt and the crew and hopefully we'll see her in future installments, if there is more. Based on this current installment, there should definitely be more.
MI:1 is a classic in my eyes and I've watched it countless times, but I must say, Rogue Nation...well, it's a lot more fun and I do feel it is a better film overall. I will be watching this one again and again. And don't wait for it to come to video...this is a movie you must see in theaters for the full experience.
Also, let me just say the stunt sequences are thrilling...thrilling I say!! Very limited CGI in this film, which made the action scenes even more exciting and dare I say it again...thrilling! Lots of gasp worthy moments.
I won't give away any spoilers as that would ruin the exciting action sequences and fun twists. This is enjoyable from beginning to end. So just go see it!!!
This Is It (2009)
A Reminder of His Talent
If there was any doubt on whether or not Michael Jackson is/was the greatest entertainer of all time-Well, this movie just puts that argument to rest. A man at 50 years of age, still dancing effortlessly and with more charisma than any of his well-trained backup dancers and still singing in tune is something special to watch. After 5-10 minutes into the movie you just become sucked into this outsider's view of this man's world. He spoke very little, but when he did speak, you heard him loud and clear.
There's no doubt that Michael Jackson was an odd bird, but he was a true music genius. He knows everything there is to know about his music and what he wants. His vision is so clear to him and completely effortless. There are moments when he's dancing and it's as if he can do all of this in his sleep.
I was completely fascinated by him and earned a greater respect for him as an artist and as a person.
This movie was very tastefully done by Kenny Ortega. You can tell it was edited by someone who loved and respected Michael Jackson. The movie is about celebrating MJ and what he would have continued to bring to the table as an entertainer had he been given the chance. However, thanks to Ortega and all those involved, we still get a chance to see what he was made of and it is a reminder that Michael Jackson is indeed still the King of Pop and he still had that "It" factor even up until the day of his death.
Whether you are a MJ fan or not, this movie will move you and you can't help but walk away with respect and appreciation for what is now lost. I've seen it twice already and thinking of seeing it again. It's definitely worth the price of a movie ticket and more. A+!
Barnyard (2006)
A True Laugh-Out-Loud Movie..With Some Tender Moments
I was debating back and forth on whether or not i should see this one. So glad i did! The movie was hilarious! The whole theatre was cracking up laughing. Even after the movie was over, you heard people talking about how funny it was and going over their favorite parts. I'll definitely check it out again. I also noticed that people were repeating the funny parts DURING the movie.
I really appreciated the humor in this one. It's not like the type of humor you may find in a Pixar animated film, so please don't have that kind of expectation when going to see this movie. and i have to be honest here, it was one of the funniest movies i have seen this year...It was just so nutty and FUN! So, I encourage all to try this movie out. There were also a few tender heartfelt moments that deal with death and birth, and I thought they were handled rather nicely.
A very entertaining film! one of the funniest scenes was when that fat rat came on stage and started singing that Shaggy song "Mr. Boombastic"...
"I'm Mr. Boombastic say me fantastic"...lol
and the scene where the farmer discovers what his barnyard animals have been up to. The way the animals deal with that little problem was truly hysterical.
everyone in the theatre just about died from laughing so hard...!!
Roll Bounce (2005)
Lots of Fun
I love movies like this, where the main purpose of the movie is to just entertain. The plot is simple, but it works. You basically go through the life of Bow Wow's character from the point where his favorite skating place is closed down...and through the moments where he and his fellow friends get ready for a competition against the baddest (meaning good) skaters within the Chicago area. I will point out here that the character named Sweetness was classic!!
"I Skate Now"...lol...Watch the movie and you'll know what I'm talking about.
This movie brought back some old memories and the camaraderie between bow wow and his friends are quite enjoyable to watch. i was also pleasantly surprised by the fact that Bow Wow didn't annoy me in this movie because I fully expected him to. He's no Oscar-ready actor, but he was a 100 times better than i would have ever imagined him to be.
The movie is a lot of fun to watch and it's very family/kid friendly. I'll definitely buy this one and can't wait to watch it over and over. :)
Chicken Little (2005)
A Fun Movie
I'm not going to write a synopsis of the movie since everyone else has done that and besides I want you to go check it out for yourself. If you love animation please do not pay attention to the negative posts here. The movie was pure fun with a few sentimental moments here and there. I think people nowadays have forgotten that movies are there for mostly entertainment purposes. When you can't even enjoy a fun family flick like "Chicken Little" anymore you know something's wrong. Or maybe people are too busy comparing it to Pixar to give it a real chance. who knows?
The movie was FUN. I've seen it twice already and both times the audience enjoyed it and laughed throughout the movie. So for those of you who are genuinely interested in the movie, go read all of the positive posts and you can feel how excitable the movie made many folks feel. It definitely lifted my spirits.
The voice talent for "Chicken Little" was dead on. i thought it would be weird having an adult male's voice for a little tyke such as C. Little, but it works perfectly here. I also thought the character Runt would be annoying, but he turned out to bring many of the laughs within the theater.
I definitely recommend this film to those who are fans of the animated film genre!
