Local Color (2006)
Can one person live within the heart of another?
When a movie brings up universal themes, it is so easy to evoke strong emotions within the viewer. Local Color accomplishes just that.
Young John grows to internalize his master's view of life and the art of seeing, recognizing, and duplicating from one's palate and approximation of what is seen. The close-up view of artworks reveals seemingly random strokes; step back and have a broader view from the distance reveals a remarkable depiction of what is real.
Most importantly, we learned that it is possible for one person to internalize a loved one. This theme is evoked on so many levels by this film. As I have personally struggled to come to terms with the grieving for my late wife, it has occurred to me that in fact she lives inside me! I find myself being her, duplicating her wit, and speaking her own private language to which we were both so familiar.
Local Color affirms what is possible in life, rare as it may be. There is no guarantee that any one individual is going to have such a significant relationship with another as the older men had with his dear wife who perished to his dismay. He never stopped loving her, however, and the emotional impact reveals that yes it is possible to internalize a loved one and keep it as a cherished set of memories that will last as long as the span of life occurs.
The emotional affirmation confirmed in this film demonstrates the power of such good work when a team of people are able to produce such a film with great impact that it offers those who are receptive.
The Wednesday Morning Breakfast Club (2013)
This movie clubs such a simple, direct, and beautiful evoking of childhood memories
This movie, the Wednesday morning breakfast club, evokes childhood memories of one's grandparents and how little a child appreciates the value of life and how to appreciate every moment possible of sharing with people you love. It reminds us so much a regret I'm not valuing and appreciating more yes so much more the people in our lives that were close to us as we were children growing up. The memories I have of my grandparents have never been involved so probably as his movie has done. Congratulations to all concerned who made this special work possible and to be discovered on prime TV. When I'm film causes the evocation of such strong feelings and memories is absolutely a work of art. No criticism of this film could be made because it would miss the whole point it is not here for us to criticize it is here for us to enjoy artistic creations.
