Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)
Seriously don't listen to the negative reviews
People are just bitter. Don't listen to the negative reviews. This movie is amazing. It's funny, engaging, and honestly pretty scary when the demon shows up.
The sub plots are good and entertaining. I know a lot of people said they make the storyline too busy but I loved it.
Walter Peck returns as the mayor which is an awesome throwback (esp when someone in the crowd calls him d--less as a reference to what Venkman calls him the first movie). Slimer returns. There's a hunch of random Easter eggs that pop up throughout referencing the previous movies.
I love the introduction of the new people- especially Kumail Ali Nanjiani. He plays his part well and brings a goofiness to the story.
Honestly I like this one way more than Afterlife and felt it was more like the original movies as far as the mix of comedy and scare. I can't wait to watch it again as soon as it comes to streaming.
Mirror Mirror (2012)
Killed time. That about it.
Needed a quick (under 2 hours) movie to watch with the kids before bed on a school night. This came up as a movie none of us had seen.
Nathan Lane is always a pleasure as is Julia Roberts. But that's where we felt the strength of the movie ended.
We all thought Lily Collins was SUPER annoying and irritating through the entire movie.
The plot was all over the place. The 1 hour 45 mins really dragged during the second half of the movie making it feel about 20 minutes too long. The Bollywood-esque music video at the end credits was ridiculous, unnecessary, and made zero sense.
Like I said, it killed time when there was nothing else on, but will not be something we will ever watch again. Definitely a waste of time.
I See You (2019)
Definitely give it a try!!!! Watch to the end!!
I agree with others that this movie takes a little while to really get into. I was a little confused in the beginning as to where the story was headed... but I am so glad I stuck with it. Keep watching its worth it! No spoilers but I will say the ending makes the entire movie so stick with it.
The cast does a great job selling the story which you see from different points of view to understand all aspects. I like the way the plot moves, and how I continually changed which character I was rooting for. I loved that!
It's definitely a movie that I thought about and continued processing for a few days after.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
I wish I had read the ratings first
So I binged the series. I thought the first few episodes were good (albeit unrealistic) but then I started to wonder where the story was going. It was all over the place. There was a decent cast of characters. Storyline was weird. But I didn't realize this was a spoof type of movie. It did get quite ridiculous the last couple episodes and I started wondering what the hell was happening. Then I came to the reviews after the final episode and saw what type of movie it was supposed to be.
Was it entertaining? Sure. Funny? I didn't think so. Completely unrealistic? Absolutely.
It was ok. I don't think I'll watch the next season.
12 Pups of Christmas (2019)
Absolutely trash
I have never hated a character/actress more than the lead in this movie. She is completely miserable. Her character is bitter the entire movie. The acting is horrible.
In one part she talks about how she's upset the company owner doesn't give her credit and then immediately after says she can't help him at a meeting because she's "just a therapist." She also keeps calling him a jerk when he's literally done nothing jerky.
Let's not forget in the beginning of the movie she's talking to someone about how it's "30 degrees out" but everyone in the background is wearing t shirts.
Movie is trash. Not even worth watching for the pups since they're only in it for about 5 minutes.
Name of the movie should be change to "12 days of trash"
