The Strain: The Night Train (2015)
Zach...
Ok.
I know it sounds bad and wrong and everything that is unholy.
But..
If Zach was my son, I would seriously consider tossing him under a train or off a bridge.
I know that kids think differently, that's fine. Bur he is outright idiotic. I mean his mother was a math teacher (presumably), his father is a virologist. He is supposed to be t least somewhat intelligent.
But all his actions through the first two seasons. Are either idiotic or plain stupid.
Don't misunderstand me, I appreciate a character when their motivaations move the plot and cause "havoc". But Zach's motivations are rooted in being a moron. No real agenda, simply being an a..hole.
That's not an understandable character, sorry.
Foundation: Preparing to Live (2021)
Dear Lord, why...
I have a few questions, because appareantly, I'm a dimwit.
1 - What is the source material for this show?
I know its not Asimov's Foundation. I read those books a million times an this story's show is not even close. Some names are the same, but that's about it.
2 - Oh theg ender/race question.
I might be old - 31y - but when I read it as a little kid at first, I imagined all to be white. Likely because I'm caucasian and a kid imagines the books as the world it sees closest, their family. But ok, let's make the race mix Hollywood friendly. I get it. If a Norse god can be black - looking at you, Heimdal - why not. But the gender? R. Daneel aka Eto Demerzel is not a blond white chick. Never was. What character will change gender and/or race next? James Bond? Harry Potter? Let's make Ellen Ripley a guy! Oh, that can't be, it would be bad against woman. Come on, that's pathetic.....
3 - Worth watching after Episode 2?
If you are into catastrophy movies, then I think yes.
If you even just read the Foundation books, then no. Unless you are mazochistic. Then go on, you'll "enjoy" the show.
