I watched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre when I was in High School back in 2003 and I have to say this movie's story was just so good that 20 years later, it still holds up very well. The atmosphere was just great and it really gives that dark, grim look of something bad is about to happen any moment. There are a few tacky scenes here and there but it doesn't drag the story away from the main plot, unlike the 2022 reboot where it's just unwatchable.
This movie genuinely scared me then and it still does today! The guy who played as Sheriff Hoyt did an excellent job playing such an unlikable character. In the end, I prefer this over the 2022 reboot any day.
