The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
All-time prison film classic
Ased on a novella by Stephen King, this is better than even THE GREEN MILE and goes to show that you don't need supernatural elements in a prison story - the setting is enough to carry a film as it is. SHAWSHANK often shows up as the "best film of all time" on various movie lists - including here on the IMDb - and, whilst I don't necessarily agree about that, it is a very good film indeed, near flawless in fact.
Every technical element of the film is spot-on, from direction to music, editing, and acting; Morgan Freeman delivers his best ever performance whilst Tim Robbins shows us what a great character actor he is. Even better, for a genre fan like me, is seeing acting favourites like Clancy Brown, William Sadler, Brian Libby, and James Whitmore all appearing in the film together and playing more than just stock good or bad guy roles. Every actor is great here, and the script (which sticks closely to King's writing) is nigh-on perfect. Emotion, thrills, drama, and the triumph of the human spirit are all present in this movie, which is one of the greatest prison flicks ever.
Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (2017)
Saadi me mat ana na katna
Story: Varun (Aberaam Varma), an insurance agent, meets Meghna (Saathvika Raj), the daughter of a wealthy businessman, over a marriage policy. Their interaction leads to sharing some details about their respective relationships. Circumstances that follow and their failed relationships make them meet more often, and it opens a door for the Cupid to strike. But can love happen more than once, or is it just a rebound?
Review: In a sea of love stories dished out every often, Neetho feels refreshing in its approach. Apart from some honest performances, well-shot frames and genre-encompassing soulful music form the movie's soul. Cinematography by Sundar Ram Krishnan, music direction by Vivek Sagar and background score by Smaran need a special mention. The makers fused multiple genres to create the required ambience.
Hyderabad and its modern infrastructure became the film's backdrop, and director Balu Sharma integrated it well with the contemporary approach to the age-old conflict of love. However, despite being refreshing, the film could've been crispier and more engaging. Introspecting monologues, philosophical dialogues and lengthy interactions between the characters, though meaningful, might only appeal to a niche audience. But for someone who connects to the film's vibe, it would be an enjoyable ride. On a lighter note, the film had several coffee scenes, and a word of suggestion would be to pour some coffee into the empty coffee cups.
Babli Bouncer (2022)
Good movie
Babli Bouncer is one of the most engaging and entertaining movie of this year. Must watch. It
was a light hearted movie and so i liked it. Tammana's acting was great and so was her comedic timing. The storyline could have been better but since it was a feel good movie so story being a bit off works.
Kukku is so cute in this movie, all the other characters have also done a superb job in making an entertaining movie. It's a unique story, must watch for Tamannah' performance. I Just loved watching the movie. After so long to time i have seen something like this... kudos to the whole team.. amazing movie.. everyone should watch this.
