The Flash (I) (2023)
3/10
Worst DC movie so far.
25 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure why people are talking this movie up so hard. Literally had the worst issues of all the recent Superhero movies combined. Some maybe just focused on Keaton and Supergirl and want more of them, so they are trying to say it is better than it was.

The movie was a disaster and the weakest version of Flash multiverse storylines I've seen. Everything about it was inconsistent. Pacing, how things worked, and just the overall script were a mess. If you're going to fan service with cameos, a joke scene for Wonder Woman and end credit for Aquaman seem like a waste.

The visuals right from the beginning were jarring. The babies falling scene was absurd, and obviously was meant for humor, but the graphics were so bad and looked so unfinished, you would have been better off with real fake baby dolls instead of CGI, they looked that bad. The CGI is a distraction through the who movie as no efforts to blend were made at all in any scenes. Especially in the speed force during time travel. The graphics were Polar Express levels of bad.

Keaton's Batman and Supergirl were the movie's only saving grace, and yet there wasn't enough of them. Zod just felt like some inevitable bomb going off and the futility of just having him be unbeatable was disappointing. We lose that big hero moment and they could have had the conflict of restoring the timeline without making the too best characters fixed death points.

The conflict in the time bubble even felt rushed and underwhelming.

The movie overall felt unfinished and all over the place. Flash didn't have enough hero moments and most of the story lacks any sort of impact.

A big letdown(updated)
6 March 2023
If you combined drunk history with rejected bad SNL skits, you get History of the world part 2. There are a few funny parts to it, and some stuff may be funny to a younger crowd, but the majority of this could have done with some better editing of the jokes.

The entire thing felt like a pitch meeting where Mel Brooks wasn't able to say no to anybody's ideas. It lacks the charm and cohesiveness of the original and practically everything else Brooks has done. They traded out the usually clever humor and satire Brooks is known for and instead get a bunch of dress up where everyone just plays a vulgar or stupid version of themselves or their stand-up persona or some parody of a modern pop culture reference while dressed as the character.

There were some funny bits that I liked, but overall it felt dumbed down and more miss than hit.

Tried watching the third episode. Lowering my rating. This show is an abomination. Someone should check if Mel Brooks even knows what he attached his name to and narrated. Awful show.

The Ark (2023– )
5/10
Should be classified as a comedy
10 February 2023
If you don't think too hard and are into watching a show that is a complete trainwreck, it is entertaining. I'm literally watching for the comedic factor of how inept the entire crew featured, with the exception of like 3 people are all idiots with poor survival skills and lacking in interpersonal skills as well.

These people are supposed to be experts sent to start a new colony on another planet, but this first Ark definitely doesn't have their best and brightest. I get that the premise is that they are the crew left after the command level people and leadership has been wiped out, but this group is acting like they threw a bunch of random people on a spaceship with no skills or supplies and expected them to somehow figure out life on a new planet.

It feels more like they ejected some rejects into space.

Velma (2023– )
1/10
I'd rate it a 0/10, but 1/10 is the lowest allowed.

Awful show with no redeeming quality or reason to watch. I'm surprised that it got greenlit and aired. With all the things the WB is shelving, how did they miss this hot mess of garbage. This show looked like they were trying to imitate what worked with Harley Quinn, but like if a person with two left feet and both of their legs were asleep tried to copycat a professional ballroom dancer.

They totally crapped all over the source material and basically give a middle finger to the audience and fanbase. They are like the toxic slug version of their characters. Can't believe I sat through both episodes, but I kept hoping for something of value or positive to say about the show, but there's nothing good about this show.
