Open yor heart, or Third Eye, or whatever...just watch the movie without expectations.

Faith Like Potoes is not an Evengelical film, although it has strident Christians in the story. It's not a race lecture, that comes from what humans do every day, everywhere.

What I found it to be is a testimony to one place, one time, and one story...but one repeated in the world many times, before now and in the future.

A mother holding a baby, with her family around her, making dinner or reading a story, or listening to a child's fears and ideas...that's mother love at work. A story can have a Black mother, an Asian mother, or any mother at all...A Mother's Love is a powerful force that is instoppable. It is part of life on Earth. It is not specific to any one kind of mother, and whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or atheist it lives in all of us to some degree.

This movie is simply a story, about what happened to someone somewhere that can resonate in all of us.

(Contrary to one reviewer, I think this is disliked by many Christians, like many in the movie...) I am not a Christian, but I was moved by this well done movie.

The Animation is Still There
26 February 2024
If all someone wants, is to watch again the awesome series, watch that. This was a fun time, and I have read the reviews that diss this effort for not being the Animated Series. Really? I know it's not exactly the story of the animated series, but Dune is another favorite of mine and it changes with every new Dune movie or Miniseries...I still love watching.

This is "true" enough (know any other stories with a tattooed 12 year old frozen for a hundred years with super powers? Lol) When you watch a series, does it make you want to watch more? I had to watch the entire series; I had a good time (except the spirit world sequence bored me), and I really appreciated the CGI...wow.

Let go and enjoy the show...

Tarzan and Jane (2017–2018)

This is the modern version of Saturday morning cartoons from when I was a boy...

This is not the 1917 version of ERBs Tarzan...not so bad for young viewers. Truly fun for new visitors to the world of Tarzan...I wish it had continued with Pellucidar.

I had EVERY ERB novel he ever wrote, and I like this effort. It's a fun introduction for young viewers, just as creative with the original story as Weissmuller's movies..."umgowa"!

Somewhere between "Dragon Tales" and Disney's silly series of beautifully done Tarzan animation. I approve of this short collection, and wish people could lighten up and realize nothing is fixed, not even the stories from our youth... I even approve of Jane, and she's nothing like the old version of Jane Porter.

A story of one silly journalist who causes the deaths of many people
1 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
...Also, the Special Forces of all countries are the best and bravest...can we even understand the drive behind finishing a mission while death is all around. I spent years in Afghanistan and Pakistan, before the Taliban and Al Queda. There are very few factual presentations of the Jihadi mindset...just watch and add some depths of cruelty not usually on screen. This is a good enough ride, it's like a reviewer said, "it's not a documentary, just enjoy." Good actors and a graphic film make for a good experience.

Having said that, can anyone really relate to wanting to show the real story to the Western world at such extreme risk? Yes, she showed a severe lack of judgement, but those who came along for the ride should've know what she was like. They certainly knew the risks. We would forever wonder what the truth was in so many conflicts (Viet Nam, Korea, WWII, Iraq, etc...) I for one love to read a factual report, and only the intrepid journalists who get those stories can provide the real stories to people being fed Government Lines and filtered news.

And I so respect the Operators...

It's What Makes A Horse Race

I love Sci Fi, and I have literally thousands of titles in my collection...Valerian is one of my all time favorites, and I was one of the small group that thought Bladerunner was a great movie...time has proven me right.

Maybe Valerian is under cast, but then so are many good movies. How beautiful this directors vision is...wow. And I do think Cara is so talented, seeing and hearing her is a delight.

The cast is right up there, Rhiannon had me at "Bubbles". Enjoy this movie, don't overthink it. Just sayin'... When people see the Planet Mul for the first time, it's like a spring day after a long winter...awesome.

But life is imperfect, so ambition on a grand scale creates a situation for our heroes to go to work.
