Faith Like Potoes is not an Evengelical film, although it has strident Christians in the story. It's not a race lecture, that comes from what humans do every day, everywhere.
What I found it to be is a testimony to one place, one time, and one story...but one repeated in the world many times, before now and in the future.
A mother holding a baby, with her family around her, making dinner or reading a story, or listening to a child's fears and ideas...that's mother love at work. A story can have a Black mother, an Asian mother, or any mother at all...A Mother's Love is a powerful force that is instoppable. It is part of life on Earth. It is not specific to any one kind of mother, and whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or atheist it lives in all of us to some degree.
This movie is simply a story, about what happened to someone somewhere that can resonate in all of us.
(Contrary to one reviewer, I think this is disliked by many Christians, like many in the movie...) I am not a Christian, but I was moved by this well done movie.
