True Detective (2014)
Season 1 of True Decetives is the greatest detective show ever.
Only Season 1 is worthy of this high ranking. These other seasons are strong, but not great. Season 1 of True Detectives is also True Greatness! Season 1 possesses remarkable story telling, suspense, character development, imagery, sound and realism despite also being a masterpiece in surrealism as well.
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson give the greatest performance of their long and celebrated careers, showing that they are amongst the top five talents in Hollywood. The mere hinting of a supernatural element without presenting it outright is one of the real triumphs of season 1 of True Detectives. The mystery woven in is masterful. The character interaction between the two main characters may never again be equaled; Harrelson and McConaughey create a chemistry that completes this series for season1.
The Forgotten One (1989)
Yes, a USA playable DVD now exits.
Yes a USA playable DVD now exits. However, there is no blue ray for The Forgotten One yet. The DVD is very difficult to locate. I got mine on eBay. I love this movie, but the cinematography is poor. The plot is nice. It's Romanic, but not all that frightening. The movie is strong in the area of nostalgia and touches on a period romance a bit. There is a mystery behind it all when the Terry O'Quinn (who played a role as the town mayor in Tomestone) discovered the old home he bought is not entirely empty. He forges a romance with his attractive next door neighbor while investigating the supernatural.
