The Secret Life of Pets (2016)
The Movie is OK, but no Oscar Contender
Overall Grade: C
The Secret Life of pets definitely has some funny and entertaining moments. Some of the characters are quite funny. I especially enjoyed Kevin Hart's and Jenny Slate's characters and their respective performance. However, considering the other cast, I was expecting this movie to be much funnier. It had a few chuckles, but that was it. The animation is of decent quality, though not at Disney/Pixar levels. However, the biggest failings comes from the plot. It borrows so many plot points to the point of the movie feeling like a blatant ripoff without adding any of its own, so the movie as a whole was relatively boring and predictable. It is definitely an improvement over Minions, but nowhere near as good as Despicable Me 1 and 2. Considering the amazing animated movies that have come out so far this year (Zootopia and Finding Dory), and the animated movies that look amazing and are being released soon (Kubo and the Two Strings and Moana); you probably won't be finding this on any of the Oscar shortlists.
All Dogs Go to Heaven 2 (1996)
Story Line Was Bland and this film has too many mistakes
First, they ruin it with the uniquely bad animation quality, then, they get voices that sound nothing like the original. They make sooo many movie mistakes. When Sasha is singing in Count Me Out, the drummer disappears and then reappears, Itchy's shirt keeps changing color, his hat keeps changing position, one of the bridge is white, everyone in the background appears fat, halos keep changing colors and appearing and disappearing. Even heaven appears different. I don't give a damn if this is a low budget film, they shouldn't cut corners on animation. They completely ruined the first ADGTH. The only good thing about this movie was the soundtrack.
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998)
Disney made a good sequel for once
This movie in comparison to the first movie is definitely inferior. Although I do admit that if they released it sooner, it could have been more popular. Considering the fact that Disney and universal almost always botch the sequel to any movie, this is actually pretty good. Its a classic family situation. The daughter falls in love with the enemy and dad does not approve. Does this remind you of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Classic. I love the singing voices and the songs. Yes, I think some of the songs in the second are better than the first. The song Upendi has to be the most annoying. Whatever you do, don't listen to it. It gets stuck in your head and you can never get it out. All the other songs are beautiful. Even when you change the language it is still good.
