Im really enjoying watching this series, not too scary, not too blah, a bit of humour thrown in makes it really good viewing..

What surprises me is that Alison and Joe are still married..! I cant imaging what it must be like for Alison's husband, it must be tough.. There are occasional signs of strain like for example arguments starting to escalate, one or both parties feeling bad.. Its good how they seem to diffuse tense situations by throwing in a bit of humour when things start to get heated..

Its interesting to see their children developing their mothers talents.. wonder how that will turn out?

Patricia Arquette is brilliant and very believable. She expresses the character (Alison Dubois) with passion and conviction..

Angel

The plot is based around Angel (David Boreanaz), a vampire and also a private investigator, fighting demons, fiends and vampires in Los Angeles. Unlike other vampires Angel has a soul..

I think this program has all the right ingredients for excellent viewing, with each series it just gets better and better..

This is not just another good vs. evil show or some gore fest with vampires. Like Angel himself the show has soul..

Great acting by David Boreanaz (Angel) and the rest of the cast. Its good watching how the characters interact with each other and how they grow in their own way..

The final series sees Angel as CEO of the law firm 'Wolfram & Hart', the very people who he has been fighting against the whole time..

It's a rare kind of movie, mixing supernatural with adventure. It deals with issues of good and evil from a worldly view..

Just like other movies involving angels and demons, this one contemplates the apocalypse, and John Constantine will be the guy determined to stop it..

John Constantine is brilliantly played by Keanu Reeves, providing the gravitas the movie needs, along with the seen-it-all attitude many will relate to..

Constantine has two sidekicks. The first is Chaz Kramer, his brave young taxi driver. The second is Beeman, who is to John Constantine what Q is to James Bond..

The world these characters inhabit provides some of the most interesting parts of the film. Good and evil can be actually induced by third parties. You do bad things according to the Bible, and you go to hell..

I hope there is a sequel, it sets up everything nicely for a truly ethereal war..

Keep watching after the credits..

Afterlife (I) (2005–2006)

Afterlife

Warning: Spoilers
I thoroughly enjoyed this series from start to end..

At first i thought this was going to be just like all the other shows about mediums and things that go bump in the night.. i'm so glad i'm wrong..

Lesley Sharp is the clairvoyant Alison Mundy who sees and tries to help dead people. Alison feels isolated by her 'gift', which is so brilliantly orchestrated by Lesley..

Alison forms a relationship with parapsychology lecturer Dr. Robert Bridge (Andrew Lincoln), who is convinced her ghosts have an explanation rooted in the unconscious. He becomes her biographer in the hope to discover more..

As the series continues the relationship between Alison and Robert grows stronger adding to the last episodes brilliant conclusion..

There are no fancy effects like you see in for example Heroes, Medium or The 4400 and its as if the story could be taking place in your street or to the woman next door..

The most gripping aspect of 'Afterlife' is that Alison's ghosts are actually scary. Not sweet ones with messages for their loved ones, but disturbed and sometimes evil forces..

Each episode treats a particular haunting, Alison is called in to help. The ghosts appear as they did at the moment of death which is sometimes gruesome. This adds to the realism of the whole series..

Series 1 focuses on Robert's dead son and the tragedy behind his marital breakdown. Alison tries to break down his defences and get him to face his own grief. This climaxes in a seance episode that's amazing, thrilling and emotionally cathartic..

Series 2 focuses on Alison's troubled relationship with her mentally-ill mother who now seems to be haunting her.. Also Robert starts to come to terms with his terminal illness..

The final two episodes are beautiful, tearful and so emotionally intense that i was completely overwhelmed..

I love this program, i was totally moved by it.. and still am.. Absolutely fantastic..

Warning: Spoilers
i thought this was maybe another mutant-x or x-men rehash, but thankfully i'm wrong..!

i love the episode where the cheerleader is 'dead' and she sees herself sliced up in the autopsy room..! great stuff..

i've only seen 6 so far and i'm wondering what Ali Carters alter ego is all about.. could she be gradually taking over? i say this because of the scene with her and Adrian Pasdar, it wasn't 'her' doing the deed..!

i love the way in which they've turned a habit (crack) into something completely different with the fantastically talented artist.. brilliant.. Masi Oka is brilliant as the guy who breaks the space/time continuum by teleporting.. excellent casting there..

i'm so glad this is not another 4400 or Lost where nothing happens for episodes on end, and when something interesting does happen it starts off a new story line..

This is the sort of thing i've been waiting to see for a long time..

Recently crime and/or drama series have started to become repetitive. They seem to have lost some of their edge. 'Shark' was obviously made to blow out the cobwebs.. very refreshing..!

James Woods is excellent as 'Shark'.. very believable as the 'dad'.. It will be interesting to see how he balances that with his work.. However i hope the series WON'T be concentrating too much on that..

I like the way the story progresses towards a huge ending.. you know its going to be exciting..! The courtroom scenes are really believable, very intense..

Extremely gripping stuff.. About time too..

Warning: Spoilers
i was really upset when the first series ended especially leaving it with his life hanging in the balance.. besides there's nothing much (at the moment) which is similar to House on TV.

i really enjoyed the episode with the boy who thought he had alien implants in him, very strange..!!

it always amazes me how many different things can go wrong with the human anatomy. With House most i've never even heard of or would have thought possible..!

the story lines are interesting, fun and weird but always keep you guessing. I like the way you can see him working things out in his mind and how he gets to the final conclusion..

looks like his leg is going to start bothering him again, more misery then.. don't suppose he'd be House if he wasn't dishing it out..!!

Warning: Spoilers
This series has got off to a terrific start and i'm enjoying every minute..

Im glad Mac has finally found someone to share his life with, although things looked a bit rocky at one point it seems to be going OK.. I hope the series doesn't concentrate on this too much or it may turn into a soap opera and spoil it..!

I like it when we get 'zoomed' in on the evidence or item that's showing, sometimes pretty gory. What follows is its own storyline and the way in which it could be relevant to the case according to the person trying to solve it..

Always excellent viewing..

SpiderMan with Attitude..

Warning: Spoilers
wow.. this film was brilliant..

it was really good seeing the changes in him when he started keeping the black suit on.. what an ego. i also enjoyed the conflict between him and harry, excellent stuff. i was really impressed with the special effects pretty amazing stuff.

despite the effects i think i prefer SpiderMan in the black suit, not because its 'evil' but because: 1) its more sleek 2) its not as 'in your face' as the other 3) it gives SpiderMan an air of mystery, with the other one i thought maybe he was a bit colour blind..! 4) it helps SpiderMan get in and out of 'hero' situations without being immediately spotted by his 'oh so bright' blue and red..!

on the whole id say its an excellent film to see.. the cast are of course brilliant in their respective roles..

but what do i know..!
