Dumbo (2019)
I didn't expect such snore fest from Tim Burton...
We went to watch it, the whole family. Me, my wife, my daughter, and my mother in law. I was kinda ready for a not so good movie, but boy did I overestimated this joke!
I almost fell asleep 3 times, my mother in law did, and my wife as well. My daughter played with the rest of the kids in the theater, playing hide and seek and tag.
There was no single person in the full room who enjoyed it. Many people were napping, some were on their phones. The rest were bored to death.
Nothing about this movie was enjoyable. The color palette was typical for Burton, washed down and bleak. The actors played like they had firing line pointed at them. Most of the characters were flat like an ironing board. No character development at all. Dany DeVito was really trying to have this circus going on, but the clowns were suicidal.
The CGI was kinda goodish only during Pink Elephants on parade, the rest was made with pocket money budget.
Unfortunately no feather is able to lift this slob from the ground!
1 star is really generous in this case. IMDB should allow negative rating for "movies" like this....
Hevi reissu (2018)
In top 3
This movie made me smile and laugh all the time!
It is probably the freshest movie since years! It went straight to my top 3 along with Detroit Metal City and Rock of Ages in the comedy category.
I recommend it with 2 hands and 2 legs!
Venom (2018)
I felt like a child in a candy store with a platinum credit card!
First of all I am deeply saddened that it was not R rates as it was suppose to be, but...
This movie is everything a Venom fan wants. They kept his origin story fairly fateful to the comics, although it was adapted to fit the narrative.
Tom Hardy was one amazing Eddie Brock... and Venom.
I didn't understand how those 2 hours flew so fast. The theater was full and everyone was laughing their asses off. Didn't catch anyone disappointed, everyone had a lot of fun and felt awesome seeing their favorite character so well adapted.
Even those who didn't know who Venom is had fun. It was not necessary to be a comic book fan to enjoy the movie. There was nothing non understandable.
Great movie from opening to closing credits. Solid 10/10
I hope there will be a Director's cut with the R rated 40 minutes that were cut to fit the PG13 rating. Definitely preordering the Blu-ray!
Jump! ... P....
Alpha (2018)
He wanted to study art, but his father wanted him to join the marines. So he moved out and addopted a dog....
Just cane back from the cinema and I am not sure that I've watched the same movie.
There was no narator, neither Morgan freeman in any other way. Only two females in the movie were the shaman and the mother, but there are others in the cast list.
The movie had some absurde scenes, and some impossible situations.
Besides the twist everything seemed enjoyable enough for a large coke and big box of popcorn.
Taxi 5 (2018)
Way worse than I expected
I gave this "movie" a 1 star, becaus IMDB does not allow a lower rating.
First of all, do not expect to see anyone of the main cast. Except one or two of the support cast.
The movie is very unfunny and sad. Chaotic. Most scenes make no sense... at all.
I can't see why Luc Besson got involved with this garbage, even just as a screen writer.
There is nothing funny. Some scenes are even repulsive.
Only a 5 year old can but will probably not laugh at this movie...
Sadly I had big expectations...
Sand Castle (2017)
What was the purpose of this movie?
I had expectations about this film, since Henry Cavil build quite a name of himself from Superman, Man from UNKLE... not great expectations but still. After watching it, I was not quite sure that it had a purpose. What was the meaning? That every college kid is not fit for the army? That if you destroy a village, and return at some point in time, they will still hate you? That repair works in war zones are meaningless? Both the title and the synopsis of the movie are misleading. Neither they build or had anything to do with even figuratively or literally any sand castles, or they protected a village. OK I can smooch out my thumbs and say that when you build a sand castle there will always be some douche who will destroy it. Was that it? Some of the posters of the movie are heavily misleading. Henry Cavil had, literally 2 min screen time, and couple of dialogue lines. Was he used only to sell the movie? The movie is full of inaccuracies and mistakes that it goes towards pure fiction. Probably this movie is not worth the bowl of popcorn you prepared for it...
The Circle (2017)
The best horror movie of 21st century
Hands down the best horror movie of 21 century. Facebook and Google are already heading that direction. The Circle is well made amalgam of these two corporations. We already have the surveillance everywhere, people sharing their day to day lives even in the smallest bits. With services like Snapchat, Tinder, Instagram, Facebook people become transparent, hide nothing, keep nothing private and personal. Both FB and Google are trying to get everyone on board, by all means necessary. People don't have private life, everything is public and reachable by everyone who is interested. Imagining future like the one in the movie is not only possible but very much coming our way.
I agree with some points . I do thing that everyone who is eligible to vote should vote. This way minimizing the sheep vote, and the paid vote.
Go and watch it! Try to understand it! Think about the points of the movie!
