The Big Door Prize (2023– )
8/10
Surprised by low ratings
16 May 2023
It's slow and building and I've been really enjoying it. You don't exactly know where it's headed and that's the beauty of it. It's supposed to be a comedy and it's funny, similar to Shrinking kind of way. Subtle humour, not a ha-ha laughing out loud needing a laugh track like a sitcom. It's a mix, it's different and I'm here for it. I can totally relate to the characters, what they're going through and how they struggle with things, life, relationships, questioning future or the past...

It's life of a small town where people know a lot more about each other than in a big city and I could imagine it happening in mine. It's fun, quirky and wholesome. Try it, you might enjoy it 🙂

The Terminal List (2022– )
5/10
Pretty entertaining show about a domestic terrorist

Warning: Spoilers
Enjoyed this quite a bit as it's entertaining and quite well done. As much as I like Chris Pratt, his emotional palette is a bit restricted and lot of the scenes took me out of it which was a shame.

In moments like these I couldn't help myself and play with my imagination and imagine what would happen and how would this story be different if let's say the protagonist wasn't American or was, God forbid, brown. Just like the show, my thought experiment was only for entertainment purposes.

Sum up: started strong but he lost me in San Francisco - he could be Jesus himself, he wouldn't be getting out of that without rapid lead implants.

Our Beloved Summer (2021–2022)

Not bad but not great
12 April 2022
This started strong, really funny with interesting characters but then got dragged for 16 episodes. Me and my wife sighted heavily after we completed it. Anyway, it's 1 season worth of materials in a 16 episodes. Way too long.

It's interesting and cultural differences for other cultures are certainly fascinating but it also becomes familiar quickly as well.

Essentially it's a super long ad on Samsung and Volvo.

If there's a season 2, it needs to be shorter because this dragged.
