2067 (2020)
Thoughtful, hard to predict, better than many reviews here
I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was one of the few low budget gems you find when searching through unknown films. It definitely kept your interested the whole film. The movie was also hard to predict in terms of the ending/plot. I tend to enjoy a lot of sci-fi that is often panned at least initially things like I Origins, Another Earth. Melancholia, The Fountain etc. so if you like that kind of film you might enjoy this one. I did not think the acting was bad at all, and felt the film did a good job with its limited budget in terms or effects etc.
The History of Time Travel (2014)
Excellent documentary
It is difficult to offer a review without spoiling it for others but I highly recommend this film. Pay attention to small details and evolving story lines and the title of the documentary at the end. Very well done and worthy of a watch!
The High Chaparral (1967)
An Excellent series I only recently discovered
This series is worth watching. I had never heard of it until I stumbled upon it recently on one of the tv channels I do not normally watch. Great acting and scenery, realistic indian confrontations. This series is on par with some great western movies I remember. So glad to have found it.
Dark Haul (2014)
Interesting Battle between Good/Evil
I am not a huge fan of made for syfy type movies. Other those with some pseudo science asteroids or magnetic problems with the earth type things they generally suck. However Dark Haul was different. First of all it kept my interest through the entire film and it was action packed. Second , there was more of a sense of history and mystery than most such movies. Evalena Marie puts in an amazingly strong performance as well. The movie also wasn't entirely predictable. I do agree with other review points that the editing could have been a tad better and the movie a bit shorter and a bit more backstory but overall the movie was way better than the usual fare.
Murder University (2012)
Captivating MUST SEE Horror Flick!!!!
Its not often in life when you can bring a group of 8 people aged 22 to 56 to a movie who all leave a theatre loving it. But it happened opening night for the amazingly strong film MURDER UNIVERSITY. Captivating from start to finish the film blew out any expectations based on its modest budget from the minute it started. From the gripping intro to the opening credits city shot, to the soundtrack which leaves you wanting to hear the "Murder U" song when you left. The viewer was clearly transported into the world of the director Richard Griffin and writer Lenny Scwartz and the masterpiece they created. This movie cleverly combines horror, surprisingly great special effects, wit, humor and amazing performance by leads Jamie Dufault and Samantha Acampora, Michael Thurber and the rest of the cast. I was totally impressed by the writing of Lennie Schwartz. The film not only had depth and imagination but rolled along at a great pace to an incredibly strong and unexpected closing sequence which was one of the best scenes (with a little added special film effect) that I have seen in horror in years. Will see this film again!!!!
