Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)
Disappointed
Godzilla Minus One has set the bar just too high. This movie was way below the previous version. Godzilla is reduced to supporting role. Godzilla just sleeps, wakes up, fights and then again goes to sleep. The human characters are just so uninspiring. Now every Godzilla movie will be compared to Minus One's standards.
The villain of the movie, Scar, I expected more from him. Scar never looked dominating. It just used Shimu to fight. Even the Mecha was better than Scar. Godzilla has become boring since there is really no challenge to Godzilla. We already know the result of the fight whenever Godzilla is pitted against any Monster. There is no vulnerability and without vulnerability, Godzilla is reduced to just plot tool.
Falimy (2023)
A heart warming comedy
Beautiful movie. After a long time I have watched a movie that made me feel good. Such family movies are rare events nowadays, the movie teaches you to treasure your family, your grand parents as long as they're with us. It has some real heart felt moments, and some moments are light hearted.
I just happened to stumble across this gem while browsing through my Disney plus, This movie is made from heart and soul. The story is plain and simple yet has an enchanting charm. I believe Malyaalam movies are better in story telling than Tamil, which is a bigger industry. If you're looking fir movie that you can enjoy with your family, we'll, look no more.
Loki (2021)
Second season is a gem
After being left a little disappointed by the first season, I was pleasantly surprised by the second. Season-2 gave Loki the respect he deserves. It was sort of a redemption arc. Great end to a long journey of one the most interesting villains in MCU.
The first season treated Loki like a trash, getting kicked in nuts, being bossed around by a female version, reduced to supporting cast. The second season corrected all those errors and redeemed the character to a new level, on par with Thanos. Loki made the ultimate sacrifice to save the MCU multiverse when the realisation dawn up on him that there was no other way.
MCU just let this character end on a high note instead of dragging him as second rate character in future projects. Tom portrayed the character to perfection.
Hostel Daze (2019)
Must watch.
Even though I have never lived in hostel, I could still feel what the characters were going through in the series. Star of the show is of course Nikhil Vijay. Vijay never misses the mark. Ahsas is as always awesome. Shubham was great as well but his screen presence was a little short. Luv Vispute has emerged as one of the most promising actor from the show. Aayushi and Liv made an odd yet cute couple. Utsav sarkar did a commendable work.
Biggest surprise of the show was Sahil Verma, he was a great character. The show started on super funny, but it also takes you down the nostalgia lane. The atmosphere of Hostel is captured quite well.
The Flash (2023)
Victim of Gunn and WB
Warner Brothers made huge mistake ignoring the SnyderVerse. Gunn further destroyed the prospect by announcing a full reboot even when the movies from SnyderVerse were still to be released. The Flash isn't half bad but it suffers from the mistakes of the studio.
Of course the CGI isn't that great but audiences can forgive it but they can't forgive the fact that the irrelevance of the movie. Without SnyderVerse it's a rudderless ship. I fear the fate of Aquaman might also be the same.
Now come to the performance of Azra miller, which was mediocre at best, way below his performance in ZSJL. I fear for the future of DCU because unless they let Snyder finish the SnyderVerse Darkseid saga, make Man of Steel sequels and solo Batfleck movie, fans will continue to Boycott.
Farzi (2023)
Must watch
One of the best Indian web series after a long time. Vijay and Shahid killed it in their roles. The story grips you right from the start and never lets you go. The final episode ended on a cliff hanger and I can't wait to see the next season. This series is linked to The Family Man and there is a surprise for The Family Man fans. I see a bigger universe in making. Raj and DK have once again delivered a great thriller. The character of arch of each lead characters is something that the directors have portrayed comprehensively. There is hardly a loose end in the series. There are many morally grey areas for every Character excerpt for one. The episodes are longer but totally worth it. Screenplay, script and direction are all top notch and too the point.
Gullak (2019)
Heart Warming
It's just like a snuggler, comfortable with a warmth and heart. Once you start watching this, you feel so cozy and suck into the relatable world and circumstances of the Family. Each and every artist has played his or her role with perfection. The problems they face are quite real. Nothing will look out of place. Dialogues are also grounded and the characters interact with each other that's perfect natural and realistic. TVF has been making such great shows for quite sometimes now. They have full grip of the reality that exists in Bharat. Kota factory was one such gem from TVF. I would just say that keep it coming as long as the writing stick to the fundamentals.
Nna Thaan Case Kodu (2022)
Intelligent Comedy
The movie is a hard hitting commentary on political and systematic corruption. A small time thief who has given up the life of thievery long ago unravels the rot in nation's system. The script and screenplay is gripping. Once you start watching it, the movie grips your attention till the end. I am from CG and this perhaps my second movie from Kerala after Minnan Murali. Once up on a time Bollywood made movies like Jaane Bhi Do Yaron, but Bollywood no longer has such writers or actors, only stars. The Court room proceeding scenes are captures your interest. The man playing the role of Judge and the main protagonist are best performers. During all these dramas, the movie also manages to bring out profound smile on your face and heart.
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022)
Trash
If you love your brain, eyes and ears, stay away from this dumpster fire of the movie. The movie just used the Hindu concepts as a trap to lure audiences. There is nothing in this movie that explores the deeper concepts and philosophy of Sanatana Dharma. I heard they took 8 or 10 years to make this disaster of a movie. They spent all the money in VFX, but forgot to hire better script writer or invest in research about Hinduism in depth. You can see Protagonist undercutting the intensity of the movie time and again. As expected from Bollywood, this movie turned out to be superficial, shallow and over all a waste of time and money that you can put to better use watching something better.
DC League of Super-Pets (2022)
Super likeable
The movie tug at your heart strings if you really love animals. It's far better than anything put out there by other studios. Even it's animated you can feel the pain of abandoned animals and mistreatment of animals.
