Street Fighter II: Return to Fujiwara Capital (1995)

I'm surprised I never heard about this before

As a huge fan of the first street fighter II movie this movie is a must watch even though it's mostly for educational purposes but the anime is so beautiful.

Story is not much of fighting or action packed, it's more about Japanese history lessons. It starts with Ryu and Ken and Chun Li and the other fighters are transferred to the past of Fujiwara which they will learn of the story and history of how Japan became Japan during the time till today. Or 1995 Japan to be exactly.

This movie is not a sequel nor a prequel but a sort of semi prequel or semi sequel. But a huge collection to have with street fighter II the animated movie and street fighter II victory.

Mortal Kombat (2021)

I prefer MK Annihilation over this garbage

This was a huge letdown, and it seems to be a regular thing to do in Hollywood these days and I want to ask all managers in the movie industry, what the heck is going on, why is this once beloved industry getting worse and worse by the minute? The big industry has fallen apart since 2005 and this time it has fallen not even the blind fanboys money can save it.

And this movie is a very good example of that. Everyone knows the characters in Mortal Kombat 1, in this movie we are gonna follow a character named Cole Young, why do we need to follow him? He was not in the first Mortal Kombat game!

And one character who is in the original Sonya Blade, she is not even one of the chosen ones, seriously?

And no Johnny Cage, but a lot of characters I don't even care about. If that's so then you should have a cast that pull this off. But the answer is no!

The cast has no chemistry whatsoever and can't even look at each other in the eyes even if in love or friends, plus they can't speak clearly either, they just mumble their lines. It's like they know their movies sucks and don't care, when you get a chance like this then you gotta do your best and nobody does in this film.

And this is not just a problem for this movie, the whole industry has this problem. And why? Because you, the critics and the audience, stop giving them your cinema ticket money, they must learn the hard that this is not working and go back to the Hollywood we once loved.

Ricky (Nakalnya Anak Muda) (1990)

Beautiful movie with beautiful Nike Ardilla

I just found this movie today. And I am surprised that I never heard of this film and I am a huge fan of Nike Ardilla.

This is a beautiful musical drama. About a young troublesome boy named Ricky. He wasn't a troublesome boy before the accident of his girlfriend but after she failed to eject her parachute during exercise his world turns upside down. Until he meets Lita.

The movie mix of youth troubles and love and musical and if you are a big fan of 80s music then this is your style one hundred percent. Some of the acting might be a bit weak but it was the late 80s and early 90s at that time it didn't matter as long it was a recognizable face.

It's too bad we lost Nike Ardilla in this world in 1995 when she died of a car crash but her spirit lives on and she will always be remembered for her beautiful songs and movies.

Historically of filmmaking this is interesting to look at

The Chinese movie industry is the most interesting of how it develops during its decades.

From the golden era in 1905 to the silent movies in 1930s, to the Mao era in the 1950s to the cultural revolution in the 1970s, to the Great Depression movies after the tianmian square incident in 1989, to the awful CGI in the late 2000s to chollywood in the middle of 2010s.

Chinese movies are always in some way and this movie is no exception.

The daughter of the party is made in 1958 during the Mao era which is an obvious communist propaganda machine but I can't help loving this movie how it's done.

Chinese women attempt to keep the Communist Party organized in Jiangxi Province during the second Chinese civil war. A woman is in the middle of hiding her daughter and fighting for what's right for her people.

The film is beautifully done, the acting is very great for the time being, and the colors is artistic.

The only flaw is the script which is many flaws of the Mao Era movies and that's is it's way too obvious what it is which makes their scripts boring, but this film is well done despite the script and I would recommend the movie for historical point of view, not political but of filmmaking.

Hei ying (1991)

Shocked of the brutal scenes in this movie unusual for a Chinese mainland movie

I was very shocked about some brutal scenes and dark tuned movie that I have not seen in a mainland Chinese movie before.

The story takes place after the massacre of Nanking in 1945. A few Japanese soldiers chose to stay in China instead of facing death penalty. Now in 1985 these soldiers are old living in China with their daughters, but they are killed by a mysterious murderer, who use same style of brutality as the Nanking massacre.

I like the idea of a story, but some scenes are hard to swallow. There are some surgical scenes that shows too much also some animal cruelty with cats.

I do not recommend this film, there are way better movies from the mainland without any brutal scenes.

Shotgun Banjo (1992)

Mahal di mahal kita, good movie and action.

My 2nd favorite Tagalog movie from 1992, despite the technology looks ten years behind it still amazing because of great acting and an awesome script.

As a baby Banjo is sick and needs to live in a good home, his mother divorce his alcoholic father and she moves to a rich man, but rich man is a mafia boss. The father doesn't like that his son is gonna grow up with a mafia family, he takes back his son by force, which cause the mafia boss to die. 20 years later banjo is a big man living with his father, suddenly they get attacked by mafia and they kill his father. Now banjo gets a shot gun and ready to revenge his father.

I give this movie a 10/10 it's really awesome and I like the song at the end credits mahal di mahal Kita but unfortunately I can't find that song.

Iskalawag: Ang batas ay batas (1997)

Fantastic movie, now I have Tagalog movie fever...

Iskalawag is my first Tagalog movie I watched and thank you so much YouTube so I could find it.

It's a police story from 1997 with action, stunts and adventure and drama Philippine style and it's glorious.

I'm not gonna say what the movie is about, I want the audience to see the movie for themselves, just write the movie name and you find it. Trust me it's really good. If I say what's it about then I might spoil it so I don't want to do that, so I hope the audience will like it.

Also I must add that the quality looks older than 1997, when I saw it I thought it was from the 1980s or so but I was surprised it was a late 1990s but it was a different time then, some movies look than it is but now thanks to new technology movies around looks equally no matter if it's a low budget or higher budget.

I give this movie 10/10 it's that good.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero (1997 Video Game)

I can't say it's a great game but I like the idea they had in mind back then

It's sad we didn't get any other mythologies of the other characters, it would have been interesting to see everyone's story.

Sub zero is a favorite character of mine and it's cool they got John Turk to play the part as he is sub zero from MKIII. And the cut scenes are equally good as mortal kombat quest series.

As a gameplay it wasn't good but as a story it is better, I prefer to watch it on long play than actual playing it.

Escape from North Korea (2019)

This is amazing

I love this movie, it is the living proof that Hollywood, Hong Kong and other big industry companies are just waisted money when they can make a great movie in a simple way.

This is team made the whole movie on a small green screen in a living room in New York and it show how much heart and soul they have for movie making.

Don't not underestimate the power of love for movies.

Lupus IV: Anak Mami Sudah Besar (1990)

Very beautiful movie

I have fallen in love with Indonesian movies specially classic movies like the Lupus series.

Lupus meet a young girl who is a passionate singer and he has the same dream as her.

Very beautiful colors and Nike Ardilla is very beautiful in this movie, it's sad this singer is no longer with us but her legacy lives on with us, bless her and her talent.

Romantic Blue (2020–2021)

The heroes from the movie are now the villains in the series

When I heard Somchai Kemglad and his girlfriend and the actor who played the younger brother in the 1995 movie Romantic Blue returned to the series Romantic Blue 2020 I just freaked out, I was so exited to see them again and thought I was going to see a sequel only to find out it's a remake, and their roles are played by other actors and actresses and Somchai and the younger brother actor are now playing the villains.

The story is the same as the movie word for word, it's one hundred percent same script the only thing different is now Mai And Meh has a mother to protect, played by Nook.

The car thief is played by Somchai and the criminal uncle is now played but the guy who played Meh before.

I have no idea what to think about this, it's so strange when they had a golden opportunity to make a sequel they make a remake word for word with replaced actors and the heroes from the old movie is now the villains.

I give this 5/10 but I want to give it lower, I prefer the movie from 1995 thank you

Daryl F. Gates' Police Quest: SWAT (1995 Video Game)

This is a swat simulation not action game, and it's glorious

This is one of my best Christmas gift I got when I was a child in the 90s, when I watch YouTube and I'm sad to see it's not that appreciated as it should be.

You play a new swat member who has no name and is called swatpup, you train to become an assault then in time you get a chance to become a sniper, and who knows if you do well you be an element leader.

What I love about this that I feel I'm part of swat, any mistakes I make I learn and I know now thanks to this game what it's like to be a swat officer and I don't want to be on their shoes.

Also I like the acting, yes it's fmv cheesy, but when they start the mission they feel like swat officers, way better than the crappy swat movie.

But there are some flaws and yes those flaws I agree with the youtubers.

For starters, the game is too short, it has only 4 episodes, and one of them is just training and breefings, the rest are 3 missions that's play different every time you restart the game, although it's brilliant that they change the scenario for each mission, for example one mission you enter a building as an assaulter and play that mission again you are a sniper on the roof, sounds familiar? Yes that's what blade runner game did 2 years later.

Other flaws is that the information is not clear at first, and that makes it difficult to know what to do on first mission, it takes a lot of study and most gamers want to shoot not study.

But I love this game and give it 6/10

Liquid Sky (1982)

This is a difficult movie

I don't know what to say so let's start with the bad part

The music is awful, oh my god, did they really have to hire a composer who can't compose ?

And some characters are not necessarily, for example the West german professor is just there to be a narrator

Also the plot goes no where, it's like drug exploration or something

It the good part is

The visuals are stunning, beautiful colors, and really deserves to be called an artistic movie.

And a warm applause to the girl who play both the male lead and female lead, when I first saw it I thought it was two twin actors.

But I still give it 4/10 because the darn music ruin the movie, it think they should have gone with a typical 80s style instead the clock work orange style, specially when they didn't have a composer.

Mega Crocodile (2019)

A CGI crocodile that eat foreigners

The new Chinese movies has a lot of CGI some are good but mostly are terrible, as a matter fact they are so terrible that makes me miss the 2010-2014 CGI effects (the one everyone called embarrassed and cheap)

A team of sailor end up in an unknown island inhabited by giant crocodile. Later another group of science with one expert go there to investigate, actually same story as the giant Snake.

Most boring and predictable specially for the foreigners, they are just there to be bad guys and croc food.

1/10 boring.

Midori (1992)

Crazy movie with an interesting story of what happened backstage

This is a movie not suitable for food digestion, a lot of bizarre and disturbing scenes and really crazy , I can't even begin to describe the images.

Midori finds her mother dead, now as an orphan she must find a new home, she gets invited by a nice gentleman, only to realize that she's been duped by the gentleman who is a businessman and the his crew of bunch of deformed circus performances, despite their handicaps they bully and sexual harass poor Midori, Midori is literally in the circus of hell.

Also the movie has a lot of gore and animal kills that is uncomfortable to watch, but the most interesting about the movie is actually the story behind it, Hiroshi Harada, who is the director of the film couldn't get any company to work on this script and he got amateur voice actors in the movie, and the animation was made by himself, he even put his life savings just so he could release the move.

However the Japanese people didn't like the idea of the movie, as a matter of fact, some people went into his house and stole some footage and destroyed some scenes, and therefore Harada had to replace some scenes with photos and shortened the movie than expected.

Anyhow I give this movie 6/10 because I am a sucker for a hard work project but I must warn some sensitive viewers that this might too much disturbing scenes, you have been warned.

And I might add that the story had me interest though so it was worth my time.

HipHop Express (2010)

Not bad.....nah just kidding, this movie is awful :D

Without any doubt not only the worse movie from Germany but also the worst movie from the entire world total, this movie makes The Room look like an Oscar nominated movie and this movie makes Last Kung Fu Monk look like an Oscar winner movie in comparison. And this movie makes Uwe Boll movies like.... well still crap but still better then this garbage movie.

A young boy who loves rapping is a rich kid who dislikes the rich kid life and want to live in the ghetto by becoming a rapper, it's just so lame, like a ghetto Germany look ghetto USA it's just ridiculous. And a lot of musical auto tune, which feels out of place and just a head shake.

Also I really dislike the acting here, it's obvious they choose singers over actors, never ever let a singer do an actors job.

1/10 very well deserved.

Petaling Street Warriors (2011)

Not funny a Hong Kong style but in Malaysia?

At first I like this film but then as long it went the more bored I got with it, the humor just wasn't funny it was pretentious.

Also a lot of cheap gay humor that feels old and really not necessarily.

I was very surprised and disappointed, only a Hong Kong trash movie can do something ridiculous like this but this one is from Malaysia and that broke my heart, because I really want to like this film but I don't.

Fist of Dragon (2011)

Boring but awesome martial art

This is the most boring movie I have ever seen in my life, it feels like a kid movie, and I mean a bunch of martial art student kids who saw a lot of Bruce Lee movies and decided to make their copycat movie.

The story is almost the same as the way of the dragon, a young China man comes to Singapore to help his uncle against a local gang.

But I still give it 4/10 because the martial art is really good and real unlike fake Donnie Yen and selfish Jackie Chan, for martial art lovers this is a must but for movies lovers better search something else.

Detroit: Become Human (2018 Video Game)

Stunning graphics no doubt about that, but the story is bizarre

Honestly I prefer Heavy Rain over this, although the graphics looks great but the plot is so weird.

It's about some androids breaking free from their abuse owner and become human emotion, which doesn't sit right with me, these are machines, machines copy human emotions, it's bizarre that we are care about a bunch of toasters walking free.

Of course the idea was to talk about slavery and racism and dictatorship. I could buy that but it's not about living creatures, it's about machines.

I give it 4/10 because of Connor and Hanks interaction is great acting but part from that I was just scratching my head about this pretentious plot.

Heavy Rain (2010 Video Game)

I prefer this one over Detroit become human

Many complaints about some misled characters and underdeveloped plot, but I had fun playing it and the story was heart beating.

Ethan lost his 2nd son when he ran off in th street and a car hit him. Ethan try to make connection with his other son Shaun but Shaun gets kidnap by a serial killer known as Origami Killer, who live an origami behind as a clue to Ethan and some horrible trials Ethan must commit to save his son.

The gameplay was difficult and too many quicktime events, but I play it for the story and the story is taken me by heart.

And I like the characters, Ethan is tormented father who wants to save his son, Jayden a FBI agent who stop at nothing to find the killer but has a drug problem, Scott the private detective who is hired by the families but has asthma problems, and Madison the love interest and that's it but I'm not complaining because she is gorgeous, and it's funny that everyone complains that she has a naked shower scene but nobody say a word that Ethan has a naked shower scene, feminists are weird people.

I give this interactive movie game 5/10.

Cloning khon copy khon (1999)

1990s was definitely the golden year of Thai movies

I have become a huge fan of Thai movies from the 1990s and they never fail to give me good feeling. Cloning is a very ambitious movie with a great cast and a very touchy story.

Niwata get injured during a computer sell galleries, what he doesn't know is one of the doctors steal his blood sample to start a cloning production. But the cloning process turns wrong and the clone become aggressive and escape his hospital to find the original and replace his place.

My words aren't enough to describe how awesome this movie is, I love blue scale movies and I love the acting and this futuristic touch is awesome even though I think they should have though of a bigger number instead of a future of 2001 specially when the movie was released in 1999.

Nevertheless the movie is a masterpiece a full 10/10.

Nothing, Nothing, Nothing! (2002)

English translation all or nothing, a small hidden gem

Aston Chen known as the little shaolin boy in the 1990s on weird Hong Kong movies, but when he became older in early 2000s he moved to Taiwan to start his own company, but the movies were cheap done and didn't get the status as he had before, but personally I love his cheaper movies better than any he did in Hong Kong, more charming. Bo Ji Du Zhuang or All or Nothing is my favorite of his low budget Taiwanese movies with cute Nicole Tung Ka-Ka in her debut.

Young Bruce moves to Taipei after his father pass away, he search for his sister, but because he is poor he gets involved with underground fight club, but later he find out that his boss is a pimp and sell his sister as a prostitute.

The movie has feelings as the room fun but I recommend it warmly it's unattended funny and nice at the same time. I saw this when I was a kid and Nicole Tung Ka-Ka was my childhood crush at that time it's nice nostalgia.

Okkupatsiya. Misterii (2004)

What on earth was I watching? And why do I like it?

This Belarusian movie Occupation mysterium is really a mystery to me, is so bizarre and cheap filmed and make no sense but some reason I love it.

The movie is split into three parts that takes place during the 2nd world war in Belarus.

First part is about two Soviet soldiers that has no interest of helping inhabitants instead they take advantage of people's home, until one time they find a home of an old man and his young lover, as they enter inside they realize they are not what they seem.

2nd part is about a Nazi soldier who crash his bike during a scout mission, he takes care by an old woman who think he is her lost son.

3rd part is about a young boy and his father that join the Belarusian resistance alliance.

I can only describe this movie with calling it, World War Two that take place in a black hole.

Taraz (2016)

Best Kazakh movie

After watching the boring and pretentious MYN BALA, I find this movie a huge enjoyment.

Taraz is a social criminal movie about three friends who hang out in a bar but get involved with the mafias son, after killing him by accident, the three friends and a female witness is on a run in the taraz neighborhood that is known crime activity.

I love the acting in this movie and the feeling of what the friends go through is felt even through the screen.

The only thing that takes me away is the bip sound when the characters are cursing, I guess that's forbidden in Kazakh movie.

Full Eclipse (1993 TV Movie)

Much better than a TV movie

This is without a doubt in my mind the most expensive TV movie I have seen.

Mario van peebles is a detective that get involved with a special squad with special powers, it those powers has some addiction that can turn him into a monster.

Just watch it, it's a classic.
