Call Me Kat (2021)
How to nose dive a show
This show had a fantastic start, it was funny the breaking of the 4th wall was funny and Mayim Bialik made it work. They had a great cast but just like arrow this show was killed by fan girls and writers. Here are the things that killed the show.
1 Oscar getting the boot even though they worked well together and the actor has been given recurring status, then all of a sudden out of nowhere Kat didn't have feelings for him (thanks fan girls) so they gave him the boot.
2 Cheyenne Jackson : he should have stayed on broadway, he is not believe as a straight man and the relationship (thanks fan girls) he had with Kat was killed the minute she gave Oscar the boot.
3 so many continuity errors that are too long to write here
4 fans should not have the ability to control a show, don't fix what isn't broken. The show wasn't broken in season one, the dive hit when Oscar was given the boot.
That '90s Show (2023)
The littlest hobo
Being someone that watched "that 70s" when it started I must say I was sceptical when the trailer was released mainly because of the audience going "wooooo" every time something big happened, thankfully whilst watching the show it wasn't overly done like that audience of "fuller house" did.
I've read a lot of reviews about "that 90s show" and I honestly don't get the hate, first of all Red and Kitty are on point again as the parent figures again and it's great seeing their relationship with Leia and guiding her as best they can and they do a damn good job for grandparents in the mid 90s, the friendships Leia forms is well portrayed too, the randomness of being a teen in the 90s and freedom we had as teenagers is most certainly felt. The returning cast cameos was amazing and I most certainly want another season.
Highlights were Eric saying foot in the ass and kitty amd Donnas reaction was funny, Leias birthday with grandpa bob was fantastic, hearing the dial up tone for the internet and the clicking of the wrong button on the pc and making it shut down.
There's one thing I disliked and that was the fact that when kitty and Leia are in the video shop you see "Jurassic park" on the shelf behind them but there's also an opps did they notice that "the lost world Jurassic park" on the shelf as well. It kind of makes me wish that the prop team did a better job of double checking things because lost world wasn't released until 97.
I was 15 the same year this show is set and the feeling of being a teenager in those days is well done, we had cell phones sure but we still spent time hanging outside and doing things.
To the reviewer that asked where the Asian kids come from, all I can say is you do know that there are Asian Americans right? They don't need to be exchange students just because they have a different ethnicity.
In conclusion, the show is an enjoyable escape and a reminder of the fun I had as a teenager in the mid 90s and the friends I made along the way, don't pay attention to the negative reviews, enjoy the ride and make up your own mind.
Sure it's "not the littlest hobo" but it's a great continuation.
I Love Lucy: The Fur Coat (1951)
The only episode I didn't care for
As I'm required to write a 600 word review I'm going to start of with some positives.
I adore I love Lucy and Lucille Ball and Desi Are fantastic, i also think that this show paved the way for all sitcoms that came after it. (Friends and Frasier certainly copied some devices that was used for "comedy").
This episode starts off well it really does, but it isn't until Lucy walks in all happy and joyful and then the jealousy kicks in....... And so do the bratty tears and here is where my gripe with this episode starts, it's the childish behaviour of Lucy that absolutely spoils the mood of trying to watch this episode.
I think the title should be changed to "Lucy the Brat" because that's definitely what she is in this episode.
Scream (2015)
This doesn't deserve a 7.1 it deserves a 2
Being a scream fan since 1996 I was somewhat sceptical about the tv version of the hit movie franchise (scream 3 is a low but not compared to this travesty).
I watched season one and cringed every time but I wanted to give it a chance, season 2 hit and it was just as cringe so I stopped watching.
I understand wanting to give the new generation a scream tv show on par with the movies but there are some key missing factors here.
1 ghostface. You can't call it scream and not have ghostface you just can't, it doesn't work, I understand going the whole "originality " route but you've already called the show scream, there's nothing "original" about it except for a guy in a new mask. It falls flat.
2. Kevin Williamson, the man knows how to write for the horror genre (see the series the following based on a concept he had for scream 3) it's so brutal and intriguing it keeps you hooked no matter how much you want to look away (but who would).
I am not going to include Wes craven as he has gotten a lot of thank you's over the years despite Williamson being the one that wrote the first 2, story outlined the 3rd and wrote the 4tg (E. Kruger stepped in to do some re writes and well all not one scene that was "lemon bars"
In conclusion, this show doesn't deserve a 7.1 being above scream '96 is an insult.
Abbott Elementary (2021)
Funny, insightful and incredibly human.
I watched the first couple of episodes recently and I like how the reality of what teachers have to deal with and how they're overlooked. Sheryl lee Ralph made me laugh with one glance at the camera, I enjoy how this show can make you laugh at the downside of life and work.
This cast works they are funny, the kids are funny and it's witty.
Watch and enjoy
I need to add this because it's getting annoying
I don't understand these people that call thinks woke and accuse everyone of being liberals just because of they like the show (looking at you reviewer below) it's not liberal washing! It's common sense, it's treating others with respect!
Other shows from the past have been about inclusion, I love Lucy, cheers, wings. The only thing that's changed is the world is online and the trolls of the world treat the internet like their own personal dungeon.
Watch the show and make up your own mind, don't listen to people that are cranky at the world and refuse to read.
The Dark Knight (2008)
Overly praised dribble
Batman begins was great this movie however is the most overly praised Batman movie ever! The movie had way too much hype behind it because of Heath Ledger's death and while his performance was good the film was long and tedious, recasting Katie Holmes was a mistake and it didn't have the flow that begins had.
All this movie is is a piss of dribble p***.
The Flight Attendant: Backwards and Forwards (2022)
Good show, poor finale
What happened, it got very very predictable from the moment Cassie got into the car with the Feds.
That said i enjoyed this season and the actors were all amazing but the finale got predictable .
Pulling for a 3rd season because Of K. C and the rest of the cast but this episode could have been a lot better.
The Batman (2022)
More overhyped nonsense
This isn't Batman. The 3 starts is for an interesting concept but the film is too long and way too overhyped and overrated, I just don't get it. The films weak as is
The fighting there's no flow to it, i makes me wonder do the writers even read the comics.
How hard is it to just throw him in the middle of a story and make it a good detective movie with a decent amount of good fights (batflek)
Call Me Kat: Call Me Tiny Boo-Boo (2022)
This is how you kill a show
You Had Oscar made a series regular only to do this to him and Kat. The producers are listening to fan girls and shippers and it's incredibly frustrating.
Lost me as a viewer.
Call me Kancelled!
Scream: Legacy (2022)
Really.
Great try but the actors acting are horrible, such wooden acting.
The sound engineering was terrible.
The one star is for the camera work and for a fun idea but it's a no from me.
