Better Call Saul: Waterworks (2022)
Never Seizes To Amaze Me.
Where do I even start.
First of all, fantastic performance from Rhea Seehorn. I've hardly ever seen an ugly cry on screen as effective as Rhea's. This was DEFINITELY Kim's episode and allowed the flawless writing and incredible acting prowess of Rhea to flourish in such an integral episode to the show.
I'd also like to mention how reminiscent of Walt and Skylers scene in Ozymandias was of Gene and Marion's final confrontation in the final scene of the episode. Saul is beginning to bare a resemblance to Walt in the way that his character has developed both in the implicit and explicit points of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
We are now in the end times. Kim has confessed to playing a role in Howard's death. Gene has had impartial closure with Kim in the now revealed telephone scene. Marion knows about Gene's real identity. Kim's new husband has no signs of slowing down his "yepping"...
I am both eager in anticipation and dreading the finale for Better Call Saul. Regardless, I can guarantee the upcoming episode will be one for the ages.
The Batman (2022)
DC At It's Finest.
Had high hopes for this movie. Having being underwhelmed by recent DC movies bar Shazam and Joker, this would be the make or break movie for me. I was correct in saying my expectations were in the right place.
A great take on what Batman should be, the whole crew delivered a masterful performance and encapsulated a gritty realistic take into a 3 hour train-ride of thrill and anticipation. At times, I was gleefully smiling and in awe of how great this movie was.
The cast was great. Penguin was exactly what he should be, a scarred mobster instead of a tacky fat freak we had with Danny Devito's representation. The Riddler was an on-screen Zodiac Killer, a smart psychopath with tendencies to rub his crimes in the face of law enforcements. Falcone was pretty dull and had no real star quality, but nonetheless was still an integral piece of the plot. Pattinson and Kravitz were a dynamic duo, along with James Gordon and a whole lineup of Gotham faithful. I have zero complaints about anything from the cast.
The plot was awesome. I was genuinely enthralled with the storyline and how the characters dealt with the situation they were put in. The riddler was creepy and twisted, Catwoman was fearless and intriguing, Penguin was a typical mafioso and they all came together to craft an incredibly gritty plot and really made a statement about corruption and how it affected people and the collateral damage it causes.
Overall: 9
Plot:8.5
Characters:9.5
Cinematography:8
Special Effects:8.5.
Clarence: Capture the Flag (2016)
Good Fun.
Overall, I thought this episode was a great example of childhood fun. We were so invested on these made up games, that they became a little bit too real and too extreme. I loved the sense of nostalgia this episode presented and overall impressed me.
