Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)
Descent, but not like Marvel used to be.
Here's a recipe on how to ruin a Marvel movie:
1. Allow Disney to buy out your company and then they call the shots and fill it and ruin it with garbage.
2. Or, hire Jared Leto.
In all honesty, the movie was pretty good. It's not as bad as the other reviews were making it out to be. Yes, it didn't have that original marvel charm and pizazz that we all miss and look for, but it wasn't awful.
There were definitely some Star Wars/MIB/Tron feelings to the story, which was really disappointing, and there were some moments of acting that were also disappointing, but overall it was really good.
It feels like Disney is ruining movies using the same method DC used when they first began releasing movies: focus more on making the character look cool and spending excess amounts of money on expensive CGI shots that add nothing to the story.
Should you spend money on an overly priced movie ticket to see this film? I would say save your money. It was definitely good, but seeing it in theaters didn't really add anything.
Unsolved Mysteries: The Ghost in Apartment 14 (2022)
Worth the watch!
I thought this episode was well done. It has ghost elements to it, but is not heavily integrated into the story. It was very intriguing and interesting to see how all the pieces fit together.
Yes, there are a lot of pieces to this story, but that's what makes it a good mystery! After all, the title of the show is "Unsolved Mysteries." Sometimes in order to make sense of a story you have to delve into all the different paths and eventually they will all meet up again.
I definitely don't agree with the other negative reviews. Watch it with complete focus and you'll have no problem making sense of it. Worth the watch!
Nope (2022)
Good acting, but overall not the best.
The movie started out very good. It was mysterious and cryptic, not giving away the plot or major story lines. The acting was great, aside from Steven Yuen's role. However, as time went on, the story slowly diminished.
By the ending, I was left feeling annoyed. It became predictable and had many small story lines leading to no where.
The biggest disappointment was the portrayal of the weird alien. Rather than come up with something realistic and lifelike, we're left looking at something that is simply disappointing and not terrifying in any way.
Don't waste your time or money with this one.
