Hamlet 2 (2008)
Entertaining Comedy
This is a well made comedy with some really funny lines in it. Steve Coogan's first proper American comedy is a success IMO and he delivers a great comedy performance as per usual. Not the best comedy every made but its one that made me laugh out loud and there hasn't been many of those recently (with the exception of a few Seth Rogen vehicles). Think Summer Heights meets South Park with a splash of Jerry Springer the musical. Unfortunately due to its lack of big names and sometimes controversial jokes this won't do as well as it probably should which is a shame considering some of the poor comedies that makes it to the big screen these days just because it has a current A lister in it e.g. Drillbit Taylor. I recommend it to anyone who likes Coogans TV work (Partridge, Saxondale etc). Hamlet 2 is def worth a watch even if its on DVD. I tell no lies
My Super Sweet 16 (2005)
From Rags to B*tches
This show is nausea inducing. It features rich kids celebrating their 16th birthdays and basically behaving like the most spoilt individuals you have ever seen. The episode I just watched feature Jazmine who was formerly in foster care but now a full time brat. Having watched half an hour of her on screen I think perhaps being adopted by rich parents wasn't the best thing for her as she was clearly a horrible young woman who was only going to get worse with age. All of the kids featured on this show make your blood boil due to the sheer lack of respect they have for others around them. Why you would choose to raise your child like this astounds me. they have no work ethic, no manners, no discipline.
The most amusing thing about the show is those appearing on it think that appearing on the show is a really cool thing. How wrong they are.
Kidulthood (2006)
everything thats bad about London
If you need a reason not to come to London or more reasons to get out then watch this film. Granted its a well made film but its a well made film that highlights everything that is wrong with current life in London and indeed in Britain. Crtitics will argue that the film enlightens those who perhaps don't realise what goes on in teenagers lives these days. Drugs,Sex,Bullying,Crime are all things touched upon in the 89 minutes screened however the majority of people who watch this movie are those living the life and this only leads to promoting this kind of lifestyle. The movie itself is entertaining enough and very well acted if you think an hour and a half of 15 year old hood rats running around town causing trouble is entertainment. personally I don't and neither should the people who made this. proper whack innit blood etc
