Star Trek meets Family Guy/American Dad
25 September 2023
I never was a true fan of Star Trek, although I have seen some of the new movies/shows in their universe..

But I have seen a lot of Family Guy & American Dad and I find this to be just hilarious..

You get to experience the humor of Seth MacFarlane who created the previously mentioned animations but in a Star Trek-like universe..

It is very funny but at the same time it touches some serious or interesting dilemmas/subjects and the conclusions sometimes surprise you. .

I feel that this show is a perfect mix of sci-fi and comedy and is definitely the funniest space sci-fi I have seen to date.

Another wasted opportunity - yet the best live-action adaption so far.
31 August 2023
*EDIT - After finishing the entire first season I have to bump the score up to a solid 7 maybe even 7.5, although you can look for a lot of mistakes it most certainly is the best anime live-action adaption to date and you have to give credit to the people involved, I'm still too cheap to give it an 8 because of the pacing and changes to some of the characters unique features, but i was impressed for sure.

__________

Original review

I had very low expectations of this show, expecting I would give it 3/10 or so, but I must say that it exceeded my expectations.

You have to be very forgiving if comparing it to the anime or manga though.

**Storytelling 5/10** The storytelling is very rushed, I can enjoy it because I have seen the anime, but as a new person I would feel like it was a mess.

**Characters 5/10**

It look almost like a theater adaption, very few of the characters actually look like they do in the anime, instead they look like a normal humans in make-up(which ofc they are).

Alvida, instead of being a 6'6"(1.98m) giant woman in both girth and height with a huge club the size of a teenager, is just a normal sized chubby woman with a spiked baseball bat.

Axe Hand Morgan, instead of being a 9'4" (2.85m) giant buffed man, is just a normal sized semi-buff man.

Arlong, instead of being a giant 8'7" (2.63m) Fish-Man, is just a normal sized dude in blue paint with a fake nose.

Etc.

I mean they really could have done a better job in that regard.

They literally turned giants into normal sized people.

But at least the characters are recognizable, but I mean that should be a given.

**Animation quality and world build 8/10**

You can see that they have spent money on the show, which makes it even more surprising that the characters look so off..

But the animation quality and world build is actually pretty decent, enough so that you are able to see how this is a such a missed opportunity..

Overall score 6.5/10

It is definitely not a 1 nor a 10 on my scale.

I was considering 4 or 5 but Luffy charmed me up to a 6, even with the mexican accent he sometimes has.

It depends on how you want to judge it, as a true adaption it's too rushed and the characters too bland, they also changed a lot of things because of the rush.

For me, that has seen the anime, it's a fun waste of time, something to play in the background and having a laugh here and there and reminiscing about the past.

I think new people might have a hard time liking the show, seeing at it is so very rushed, you hardly get to know any of the villains before it's on to the next.

But comparing it to basically any other Live-Action adaption I have to say this is the best so far (but I'm still sad that they didn't stay more true to the anime/manga).

Man vs. Bee (2022)

Modern Bean
24 June 2022
It is refreshing to see Rowan Atkinson in action again, specially in a role in which he is so familiar, that being the role of physical comedy.

As opposed to Mr. Bean, in Man vs. Bee, Atkinson also gets to use his voice, which he is very talented at.

The high picture quality makes it a joy to watch, even though it at times can be (almost painfully) predictable.

I give it 8/10 because I love Rowan.

Powerful Performance
3 June 2018
This movie really allows you to sink into the movie and get a feel for the vibe that was there when it really happened.

The movie is shot in 1 take, no scene cuts.

The young actors impressed with powerful performances worth of recognition.

All in all the movie succeeded in portraying the horror that was 22. Juli, 2011.

It is true, this really is one of the, if the THE, best show made so far
12 May 2018
I must admit, it took me a LONG time to get it together and watch this show.

I remember I started out trying to watch it but gave up after ½ - 1 ½ episodes.

I guess I wasn't in the right mood at the time.

This show turned out to be so good, I am afraid that I will never feel this way about another show.

I just finished watching the last episode as I am writing this review so I have not had time to think everything through, but I must say that I am happy I watched this show and I understand why it gets as much credit as it does.

Truly deserved.

I can't praise this show enough, the actors, directors, costume designers, story editors, EVERYONE involved in making this show what it is, deserve credit.

This show truly shows how the world works on different levels, how everything is connected, but you never see the full picture. Well here you get to sit back and get the full picture presented to you.

I will most definitely watch this show again at some point, which is a big compliment from me.

Best Marvel Movie So Far
30 April 2018
I will try to be as vague and spoiler-less as possible.

Let me start out by saying that this movie requires you to watch some of the previous Marvel movies to be fully enjoyed.

Infinity War was a great cinema flick which I feel is VERY re-watchable considering the sheer number of characters/actors in it.

Great beginning, middle and end. Very humorous and interesting to see the different characters interacting with each other.

There are a few "stereotypical" moments which is to be expected but overall a great movie.

Keep in mind that it is a part 1 movie, so before fully judging it I feel I need to see part 2 also.

I might be tempted to watch this again in the cinema which would make it the first movie (at least which I can remember) that I have seen and paid for twice in the cinema.

If you are a Marvel Movie fan you probably already seen it, if you aren't I highly suggest you see some of the previous Marvel movies beforehand.

All in all, great movie, but requires some knowledge of the universe to be fully enjoyable.
