The Mummy (2017)
Pretty Decent
Not sure what others are complaining about. The action sequence isn't great? WHAT? They have a martial arts expert guiding them. The story is crap? No way, the plot is pretty original and unexpected. it's not Brendan Fraser's style of chasing the mummy and killing it. This one is more believable. Tom Cruise runs AWAY from the mummy. How is that a stale plot? There are definitely a few unnecessary scenes but on the whole, it is not that bad.
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Good-ish.
After reading so many 1/10, I feel compelled to write a review. It's not the greatest ever film but it's a good one, much better than many of the CGI films out there. This is a fantastic update to a classic. The great actors (Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, and Ian McKellen) lend their voices to the inanimate objects and as a result, they are very moving; I teared. Luke Evans is a bad guy who is really good to hate. Even the Belle here has agency and strength to stand up to brutes. She's a good role model to little girls who watch the show.

On the behalf of Chinese everywhere, I apologize
I don't normally write reviews but this movie is just God awful. A reviewer said that you shouldn't view the movie with western eyes because it's an Asian film. I'm Chinese and this film is the worst Chinese film I've ever seen. The actors are under utilized; the cgi is over the top, ugly, and unrealistic; the plot is just terrible. I'm so confused on who the main actor is, because there are so many subplots. You can develop characters without the subplots. What is that under the sea scene about? Didn't the evil general perish in the sky? How did he appear on the battlefield? The editing is just terrible. The edit at the beginning of the movie when the king is having a celebration while a jailbreak is going on is just risible. It's just a terrible terrible film. Please, no sequel.

Fun, Brainless FIlm, Not for "Serious" Film Critics
After reading a comment saying that this is the worst film ever (it is not, I've seen "worst-er" films), I am compelled to defend "Go Go G-Boys," a very crappy Taiwanese film. Talentless actors, lousy plot, shaky, grainy camera. I'm totally digging it.
Perhaps it's because of all the "serious" films we've been watching that this fun brainless comedy, transcending language, got to me. I normally prefer "intellectual" sardonic humor and I normally don't laugh during movies, especially those by Jim Carey/Adam Sandler/Stephen Chow but the absolute silliness of the film makes me lol! And to spot the postmodernism of this pastiche film--with references to R+J, My Beautiful Laundrette, Lord of the Ring, Waterboys, Brokeback Mountain--is, well, fun. Besides, it doesn't hurt to have cute actors, even if they cannot act. The film could be shorter by 10 minutes though, cutting away the emo-emo scenes.
The film markets itself as "Miss Congeniality" meets "Formula 17." Both of these movies are fun, brainless movie, so you should be expecting the same for "Go Go G-boys." A good movie to laugh at for its silliness, not a good one for critics.
